Chapter Three

Holly frowned, her head resting against her fist, which was propped up on a desk. She observed the dark scenery outside the window, irritation toward herself building.

She should have brought an umbrella.

Mycroft—her father? She would have a hard time adjusting—kept many umbrellas around his house. Holly could have easily picked one up and brought it with her.

The girl sighed, watching raindrops hit the window she had been glaring at for two-and-a-half hours.

Her mind had been preoccupied with the little bombshell—screw little bombshell, it was a hydrogen bomb delivered with a pink bow tied delicately around it, which really made no difference other than to make the chaos-inducing object look pretty—that Mycroft had thrown toward her.

Mycroft Holmes was her father.

Holly could hardly believe it.

Well, in all honesty, she did believe it, however the thought of Mycroft being her biological father was something that never occurred to her. He didn't seem the type of man to be a father.

So far, he's been a good father-figure, Holly told herself subconsciously. She sighed once again, shaking the thoughts from her mind.

Mycroft was her father.

Holly continued to remind herself of the statement.

The final bell tolled, signalling the end of another mundane school day. Holly quickly picked up her books and put them away in her school bag. She glanced out the window one last time, noting the fact that no change in the weather had occurred in the past five minutes.

Rolling her eyes, Holly exited the classroom and made her way to the bleak outdoors.

As soon as she stepped outside, the rain came down more heavily, immediately soaking through her uniform.

Holly really had no patience for the rain.

In an act of aggravation, Holly lifted her school bag above her head and made a mad dash for the streets.

Due to her speed and anger, she never saw the man who harshly jerked her into his chest and held the chloroform-doused rag against her nose and mouth.

A/N

It has been SO long since I last updated this—almost two years to be exact! God, I am SO sorry that it's been this long!

I promise to do my utmost to update this book more often.

To be honest, I completely forgot about it. I've not watched Sherlock in a very long time, so I may have to rewatch it to regain inspiration.

Anyway, I will try even harder to update this book more often. I swear to you all that this book will eventually be completed. Eventually. I'm not very good at updating. As you all can clearly tell.

Sorry.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this. Once again, I apologise for the huge delay—by huge I mean so overdue, if this were an unreturned library book, I would be in a LOT of debt.

So, yeah. If you have any concerns or questions, please let me know. I'll do my best to answer any questions and resolve any concerns.
