Promotions for the comeback have started for a few days now. The schedule hectic as usual for the first days of comeback with showcase, music show, variety show filming, and photo shoots.

Minjae has been supportive and understanding through the whole thing. He has even helped out by making time to drop off meals at the music shows when he could for us.

Today, in particular, is special because it's Sooyoung's birthday. She's having a birthday party at a cafe. She said the dress code was retro or 80's style. She specially requested for us not to buy her presents and for us to bring our hidden dance moves only.

I place my thick rimmed glasses on my nose before entering into the cafe. The cafe was decked out in the theme. There were people already here some friends of Sooyoung's she has met over the years and members of the group.

"Taeyeon. Minjae. You're here." Sooyoung calls and grins at us. She's wearing a nerdy outfit, thick rimmed glasses, her hair in pigtails, and a vibe blue hat to top off her look. I see her holding onto Kyungho's hand bring him along with her. She releases his hand once she nears me to hug me then Minjae.

"You look so cute in your outfit. I love the denim jacket." Sooyoung lightly tugs on my jacket.

"Thanks." I smile. My eyes fall on Kyungho, he smiles at me but doesn't make a move to greet me with a hug like he normally does. Instead he stands by Sooyoung's side, an awkward air surrounds Minjae and Kyungho when they briefly acknowledge each other with eye contact.

"So, Seohyun and Hyoyeon are already here. The others haven't came yet."

"Did you invite you're parents?"

"Of course. I wouldn't want to exclude them." She laughed. The door of the cafe opened again. "More guests. You guys enjoy." I nod at her. Sooyoung leaves with Kyungho leaving me and Minjae.

I intertwine my fingers in Minjae's again. He has a serious expression across his face. "Hey, are you okay?" I move closer to him.

"Why is there something wrong with me." His tone is rough and defensive.

"T-That's not what I meant." Please, don't this.

He pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. "Sorry, I'm just not into parties." He closes his eyes then lifts his head. I feel a sense of relief until it dissolves away.

"But I came here for you so..." He said, agitated. "I guess I have to be here."

I bite my lip and slightly lower my head. Is it really a hassle for him? I didn't mean for it to be hassle.

"I'm going to use the restroom." He takes his hand out of my hold. My eyes rest on the floor until they follow up to his distant figure.

"You look nice, Taeyeon." I hear someone say but I don't look away from Minjae's figure.

They latch their fingers onto my arm. "Is something the matter?" It's Seohyun and Hyoyeon is standing next to her.

"Nope, I'm fine." I shift my eyes to them, finally looking away. They seemed unconvinced but they didn't question.

"Come join us. We are going to dance." Seohyun grasped onto my hand, moving me away with her and Hyoyeon.

I decided not to protest and danced with them for a while. We laughed about our silly dance moves. We even had a mini competition of who had the weirdest dance moves which Seohyun won.

After getting away from the girls. I search for Minjae and I find him talking to an older couple. I immediately recognize the older couple as Sooyoung's parents.
I walk over to them and they smile when they see me.

"Taeyeon, sweetheart." Sooyoung's mom's eyes spark and she engulfs my body in an embrace. Sooyoung's dad hugs me after her. "How are you?" She pulls away holding my hands.

"I'm good. Thank you."

"I see why. Your husband is very charming and handsome." Sooyoung's mom briefly glances at Minjae, fondly.

"Yeah, he is." I smile back at him.

"We thought the wedding ceremony was very beautiful."

"Thank you." I said. Minjae nears me and places his hand securely around my waist. He pecks my cheek.

"You two are absolutely adorable. It reminds me of when we were newlyweds." Sooyoung's mother sweetly smiles up at her husband, reminiscing.

"Any plans for a baby?" She asks, catching me off guard. We haven't really talked about it.

"Yes, we've been trying." Minjae suddenly said, snapping out of my thoughts. My eyes widened.

My husband lovingly gazes at me, "I would love nothing more than to have a little bundle of joy with my wife. To have our baby have her light brown eyes and stunning smile that made me fall deeply in love." He holds onto my waist tighter.

I feel torn. With my career soaring to new heights, it didn't feel like it was in the cards. There are things I still want to do and experience before that. I know I definitely want to be a mother someday but not now.

Sooyoung's mom claps her hands together. "How sweet. Hopefully soon we will be able to see you with a baby bump. Your baby will definitely be a beauty." My smile almost flattened but I manage to push it up enough to maintain a subtle one. I don't say anything but slowly nod at her words as if I'm in agreement.

When in all honesty it isn't what I want. It's what Minjae wants for me.

A baby?! It isn't what Taeyeon wants. Do you think Minjae's want of a new addition to their family out of pure love or utter control? Sorry, another long chapter (I hope you don't mind). I thought about bring back Baekhyun in this chapter but decided against it. He will make an official reappearance soon.
