XI. Incoming

By the time we finished practice  three hours had already passed since I left home to the SM building.

Within the three hours, Me and Baekhyun managed to warm up to each other. He explained to me that the company set him to perform the song at Seoul Music Awards in a few weeks as a solo.

It was a short time to learn an entire song. What made it more difficult was that his schedule was already jam packed with other commitments such as his drama filming. Thus, time was extremely limited.

I guess the company noticed his struggles and decided to call me in help him out. That's exactly what I did.

Guiding him through the notes, breath breaks, emphasizing emotions, and adding individualism to the song.

He learned quickly without much trouble. Finding his own voice within the music.

"Thanks..." Baekhyun mumbled out, his back facing me as he packed his things preparing for his next schedule. "For helping." He finally turns around.

I respond with a small smile. "It was nothing." I used to help you before why wouldn't I now.

"Still, thanks." His voice was lighter, a smile evident on his lips.

We stood in front of each other in silence. I could tell that Baekhyun still had more to say when I didn't hear him making steps towards the door.

"I heard you married Minjae." He said when I turn back to look at him. "I wish you two the best." Sincerest dancing in his eyes.

"Thank you. I wish you the best as well." With that Baekhyun left to his next activity.

I turn on my phone. The screen was completely filled up with a few text messages, three missed calls, and one voicemail.

My thumb hovers above a voicemail when the said caller pops up on my phone.

"Minjae?"

"Where are you?" He went straight to the point. His voice tight.

"I'm sorry. I've been–"

He cut off my words, "I have been waiting hours for you, Taeyeon. I thought you would be here already."

"I know. My manager asked me to help an artist." He didn't respond back to me so I continued. "I'm about to head back right now, okay?" Minjae was silent on the other end of the call.

His voice appeared again and oddly more calmer.  "Alright. I'll see you. I love you."

"Okay...I love you, too. Bye." He ends the call.

I glance down at my cell phone after I move it away from my ear. I open all the notifications Minjae left. Most consisting of where am I, when I'm getting back, and why I'm not answering the phone.

Lately, his urgency to contact me has increased. Then again, I haven't been home very often because of comeback preparations. Today was meant to be a day off from work. A day to spend with him and I promised to come back quickly which didn't happen. Although, three hours were stolen from our day.

The day hasn't ended yet.

Is anybody catching my drift? No. Okay. Got an update. I hope it wasn't boring. Things are just getting started for our "wonderful" couple.
