Hidden beyond this very world.
Within the other parallels.
Some other time and place.
I like to believe that there was
Another outcome for her.

Somewhere out there,
There is another Kim Taeyeon.
Who has survived,
Who has a love she deserves
Even if it might not be mine.

Peering up at the night sky.
I smile at the possibility.

"I'll wait for you." Baekhyun softly smiles at me. His eyes warm and content.

"You don't have to..." I whisper, hiding myself away as tears gather in my eyes.

He didn't have to say much for me to understand what he meant. I already knew. He was waiting for me to be ready to give my heart to him.

Although, he hasn't pressured me. There has been apart of me that is unsure. Baekhyun can have any girl he wanted, one without any extra baggage.

"Taeyeon..." The change in Baekhyun's voice stops my thoughts. He sounds far away like he isn't here with me.

"I lost you once..." He starts. The memories of our past floods back. I turn my head to look back at him. His head is hanging low.

"I almost lost you a second time...I can't-"

I immediately wrap my arms around his neck. I couldn't hear anymore. It hurts to see him like this. "I'm sorry..." I slowly shake my head. It's my fault.

Baekhyun pulls away from my embrace and stares at me. "It's not your fault, Taeyeon."

"I know..." I look down at my hands. I try to take a steady breath but it wavers. "I j-just...I c-could've died and y-you..."

It could've been a different story. I wouldn't be here and he would be alone. Everyone that I love would be in pain.

I feel Baekhyun's warmth in my palm and I see that our hands are intertwined.

"I guess we are both healing from what happened." He mumbles and I nod my head.

We both sit in silence for a while until I decide to break it.

"Baekhyun, can I ask you something?"

He looks down at me, "Anything."

"Do you really want to wait for me? Honestly, do you? Cause I really don't want to hold you back." 

"Yes, for as long as you want me to. And you aren't holding me back. I could never see you that way. I love you." A soft smile graces his lips and the light in his eyes brightens, radiant and loving.

My heart swells and a lump forms in my throat.

I missed that smile and those eyes.

I missed him.

"I love you, too." I breath.

Baekhyun's eyes widen in mild shock at me as I smile up at him. "You didn't have to say it back." He explains.  

"It's hard not to when it is true." 

He slowly starts to smile as well and gathers my body into a tight embrace. Resting his chin on the top of my head. 

I know it isn't going to be easy to recover from everything. There are things I still need to face up to and sort out so I can move on from my old life and marriage.

It put my heart at ease to know that there are people here for me when those good and bad times come.

This alternate ending will only be available as a hidden chapter within a week since it is separate from the original timeline. 

I hope this chapter provided some relief and ease.

I tried the best as I could to make this light and with some fluff.
