Chapter Two: Unexpected Visitors
[Itachi: *knocks* Hello, hope you're having a good day, now may I kindly kidnap you to extract the nine tails that is inside of you? That will most definitely kill you.]
Itachi looked at me with a small smile. "No matter where I go and how long I'm gone. I'll come back, only to see you again." He said.
[????? POV]
I and my partner stood on the outer walls of Konoha. My old home.
I could feel my heart racing.
She's still here.
And, once I get the nine tails, I'll be coming for her.
[Your POV]
"Bye Naruto!" Inamake waved as he watched Naruto and Jiraiya leave the village.
I smiled and patted his head. "Let's go and pick up some dangos," I said.
Inamake smiles and nods.
"Okay!!"
I held Inamake's hand and we headed to a small tea cafe. I suddenly stopped, as this feeling, my heart was racing, I looked around, but I didn't see who I was looking for.
"Mommy? Is everything okay?"
I looked at Inamake and smiled at him. "Yeah! Come on!" I said, excitedly, and kneeled down so he can get on my back.
He giggles and hops on my back. I held his legs and ran to the cafe.
Why is my heart racing so fast?
Is he back?
I really hope not...
But... Is it bad to hope he is?
I then stopped in front of the cafe, Inamake hopped off my back, then held my hand, we both went inside.
We went up to the counter and I ordered four dangos, two for me and two for Inamake.
I smiled and paid for the dangos, before grabbing the container and going outside. I smiled and we sat outside the cafe, I opened the container and handed Inamake his dangos.
We quietly and happily munched on our dangos.
"Mommy! Isn't that Uncle Kakashi?" Inamake pointed towards down the street.
I looked down, towards he was pointing and that was Kakashi, he was running towards us.
"Hey Ka..." I cut myself off, as even though the mask was covering my friend's face, I can tell he had some sort of expression of worry on his face. He ran straight past us. He was heading straight for the entrance of Konoha.
Does he have a mission? No... He doesn't even run that fast for missions.
I turned my head to look at my son, "Don't you dar--", but before I even finished I saw him following Kakashi
...I actually kind of wish Inamake was more like his father...
I thought about stopping him, but let's be honest, being the curious girl I am, I wanted to know what got Kakashi all riled up also.
I quickly caught up with Inamake, he looked at me, and before he opened his mouth I smiled and put a finger over my lips. "We can't let him know we're following him," I whispered to him.
I don't even know why I said that it's a high chance that he knows we're following him. Kakashi isn't as dumb as I wish he was.
"Come here," I whispered and picked up Inamake. He held on to me as I hopped into the trees, and stood on a tree branch, looking down at Kakashi, Kakashi picked up his pace.
As Kakashi picked up his pace, I hopped from branch to branch, following the masked man.
I started to feel my heart racing more like it was earlier, I felt a sudden feeling that I should turn around and take Inamake home.
Why am I doing this? Whatever got Kakashi riles up means danger, and I have Inamake with me. I could put my own son in danger.
I glanced at Inamake,
Once we came across the river, I could see Kakashi quickly stopping a water dragon with his own and then jumping in front of... Asuma and Kurenai? And, they were in front of two men with cloaks and red clouds?
"What's going on...?" I muttered.
Inamake looked at me and looked at them. "Are they fighting?" He whispered.
I nodded and looked at the two men.
One man was clearly a blue color, that just stuck out immediately.
But, the other one, from up here, I can only see his hair, but his hair looked so familiar. It was that familiar black hair, that made my heart beat faster and harder against my chest.
I looked at Inamake, "it's time to go home." I whispered.
"W-Wait, what if Kakashi is in trouble?!" He whispers shouted.
"I can't do anything if you're in my arms!" I whispered. "I have to get you home, before anything else!"
He stares at me, before pouting.
I sighed and as I was about to jump away, I glanced down and saw that now familiar hair, was actually familiar for a reason, it belonged to the one and only, Itachi Uchiha. And, he was looking up, right at us.
I felt unable to move, as he was staring at us.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Inamake asked.
I shook my head, quickly snapping out of my short daze. "Shh," I muttered, before jumping on the branches, getting away from the scene.
---
I stared at the cup of tea in front of me.
Why is he here?
That question goes on a loop inside of my head, over and over and over again.
"Mommy."
"Hm?" I looked up and over at Inamake, who was standing at the doorway into the dining room.
"You've been really dazed since we got back. Are you okay?" He asked.
I smiled at him, "I'm fine. Don't worry about it, are you hungry?" I asked him.
"...But, it seemed like you knew one of those men." He said, not letting it go. "The one that was looking at us... Do you know him? Are we in danger?" He asked.
"Inamake, don't worry, okay?" I smiled and patted the seat next to me.
He sits down next to me and looks at me.
"That man is a man from my childhood," I said and looked at him. "And, we're not in danger," I reassured him.
He nodded, "Okay."
I could read his face, something was still going through his head.
"What's wrong, Inamake?" I asked him.
"...Every time there's danger, you can't do anything, because of me." He told me. "You can't protect others and be the shinobi you want to be."
"And, what shinobi is that?"
"W-Well, someone strong and proud."
"But, I am strong and proud."
"How...? You always stay home to take care of me."
"Do you think I'm weak because I choose not to go on missions?"
"No..."
I smiled, and tapped my mug, "The first time, I went on a mission, after I had you. Was when you, were three. But, when I return, I found out you were very sick, due to you worrying about me."
"S-So, you do stay home to take care of me!"
I nodded, "Of course, but, I still choose to. I find strength in being here knowing that you're safe than going out and worrying if you're okay. I find pride in watching you grow, be happy and learn. You're my strength and my pride."
Inamake tilted his head, "What? That's confusing."
I laughed, "You'll understand when you're older."
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Hm?" I got up from my seat and walked over to the front door. I unlocked the door, and twisted the knob, and pulled the door open. And, there stood Guy, Kurenai, Asuma, and Kakashi. But, Kakashi looked drained.
"Kakashi..." I muttered.
He looked at me, "I hope you don't mind I stay here for a while on your couch."
"Are you sure?! You can sleep on my bed, I'll sleep on the couch."
Kakashi shook his head, "I'll be fine on the couch."
I sighed but nodded, if I kept going, me and he would be arguing all day and all night. I moved aside and let the guys carry Kakashi in, and put him on the couch. "I'm going to grab blankets and a pillow!"
Kakashi nods, "Okay, I'm going to talk to these three."
I nodded again and went upstairs to the closet in the hallway. I pulled out blankets and went to my room, to grab an extra pillow. I picked up two pillows, since I slept with four, I didn't mind losing two.
I walked out of my room and went downstairs to the living room, it was just Kakashi and Inamake, everyone else already left.
"Well, I forgive you. You were safe, and no one noticed you." Kakashi said.
I laid the blanket and pillows on the couch, "I knew, you knew we were there!" I said and looked at him.
"Of course." Kakashi chuckled, "Hey, Inamake, can I talk to your mom alone?"
Inamake nodded, he ran away to his room.
Kakashi looks at me, and pulled down his mask, "Did he see you?"
"No," I said, I didn't usually lie, but I didn't want him to worry about it. I have no intention of reuniting with Itachi.
"Did Itachi say anything to you?" I asked.
Kakashi shook his head, "No. Only that he plans on taking the nine tails, but Naruto has left with Jiraiya."
I nodded, "Okay, good. Um, I'll make you something, tea."
Kakashi nods, and I walked away to the kitchen to make a fresh batch of tea.
I started preparing, his tea, but I couldn't help, but fall into deep thought about Itachi.
Itachi saw us. So, he saw Inamake. If there's a chance, I and Itachi's paths cross again, then, should I let him know he has a son? But, then, how do I tell Inamake, his father is the reason the Uchiha clan is gone?
I shook my head, Inamake shouldn't know, that would break his heart, and all the stories of his hero father will just go down the drain. It'll change his outlook. And, I can't tell Itachi. I can't tell Itachi unless I know he's the same Itachi as before.
Why would Itachi kill his clan?
Why would he leave behind his beloved brother?
I put my hand against my pounding chest.
Why would he make love to me then leave me? He didn't even say goodbye.
Those questions have always lingered since the day I found out about the Uchiha Clan's demise. I thought I would forget about them, but seeing Itachi, brings back locked-up thoughts. And, those thoughts bring back my desire to see him and ask him so much. But, I can't.
I have to keep my distance and replace love with hate.
I groaned and laid my head on the table.
Hating Itachi? I know if I ever saw him, I would be all over him. It's been five years, but my feelings for him have never changed or gone away. I have only grown accustomed to being without him, but I've been missing him a lot ever since he left. But, for Inamake, I have to be strong. I can't let Itachi come near Inamake. UGH! I feel so indecisive! I'm still the indecisive little girl when it came to Itachi. I say one thing, then I do the other thing. Like, when we were younger.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Coming!" I did a light jog over to the front door. I twisted the lock and opened the door, "Hell--" I stopped when my eyes met with Mister Fugaku's eyes. "M-Mister Fugaku? What brings you to my home?" I asked, tilting my head.
He looked around, "Your parents still haven't come home."
I shook my head, "Nope."
"Well then, this is a conversation between me and you anyway." He said.
"Oh, do you want to come in?" I asked, "I can, um, make tea." I suggested.
"This will be short." He told me. "Stay away from Itachi."
"Huh?" I looked at him, this wasn't shocking, but I never expected him to say it upfront.
"You're hindering his full potential to the Uchiha Clan, you need to stay away from him. You are a distraction, a waste of his time. So, do him a favor and stay away from him." He said.
I stared at him, he's so bluntly telling me to stay away from him, but my eyes couldn't help but fall to the ground. In the back of my head, I've always had these insecurities, that I was wasting Itachi's time. That I wasn't good enough for him. I should leave him alone.
"I..." I sighed, "I think the same as well. I think Itachi would do so much better without me. I will leave him alone."
"Good." That's all he said before he just walked away.
From that point, I started to avoid Itachi.
Whenever I saw him, I would go the opposite way or try to hide into a crowd. I felt bad, but it's the best for Itachi.
---
I sighed and sat in my backyard, with my knees pressed against my chest.
I miss him, it's been three weeks... Maybe I can give him a little visit? No! No! That's bad. Super bad! I have to forget about him. I have to!
"(Y/N)."
I jumped at that voice, I looked in front of me and there he stood.
Itachi Uchiha.
"I...Itachi..." I said, slowly from shock.
"(Y/N), my dad told me everything." He said.
"He did?"
Itachi nodded, he opened his mouth to speak, but I spoke up first. "Itachi! I agreed with him because I don't think I am the best girl for you. I feel like you deserve so much better, and someone who can make you stronger! So, please get away from me!" Every word I felt my heartbreak.
"You make me stronger."
I looked away, I can't look at him.
"I become stronger to protect everyone that I love. Sasuke, you, Shisui, the village, everything."
"You..."
"I love you with all my heart and all my soul. When you were avoiding me, I felt at my weakest, I couldn't think straight. I need you."
"You... Need me?" I couldn't help but look at him, I could see his cheeks flushed with red.
He nodded, "I need you in my life."
"But... We can't."
"I don't care." Itachi grabbed my hands, holding them in his. "Stay with me, forever and always. And, I will never abandon you, and I will never let you feel insecure."
"I..." I felt my cheeks heating up. We're so young, but he's so romantic.
"P...Please (Y/N)." Itachi stuttered, pulling my hands close to his chest, I could feel his heart pounding against his chest.
Itachi... I have to stay away, but...
I cupped his cheeks and pulled him into a soft and passionate kiss.
No matter what, I can never stay away from Itachi.
The event played back in my head and ended.
Hopefully, Itachi has left. I don't know if I can hold back my feelings from long ago.
I sighed and stood up, walking to the back door. I opened it and went outside, I sat down on the porch.
Maybe relaxing outside will help.
I then felt something land on my shoulder. I turned my head and saw a crow. I smiled and held my finger out. It moved onto my finger and looked at me.
"Crows are really beautiful." I hummed and gently rubbed the top of its head.
The crow moved back onto my shoulder and rubbed its head again on my cheek, it felt so comforting.
Maybe I can do this.
[AHAHAHHAAHAH ITS BEEEEENNN SOOOOOO LOOOONNGGG SINCE I'VE UPDATED SJUHUGSUSS I DON'T KNOW I FEEL LIKE THIS IS OKAY, SO HOPEFULLY IT IS <3 ONTO CALCULUS HOMEWORK.]
