Chapter Two

It's been three weeks since Stiles had been shot with an arrow. He was back to school and able to move without much pain. He hadn't seen Alec since the night they met in the club.

Stiles would be lying if he said he didn't like him. Or if he said he wasn't disappointed.

However today was his first day back to school and he needed to wear something nice. So he pulled on a red and dark blue checkered plaid button down shirt, dark jeans, and his dark blue converse. Checking himself over in the mirror, he nodded in approval and grabbed his bag, slinging one strap over his shoulder.

Stiles made his way downstairs and made the split second decision to skip breakfast. His dad, John peeked his head out of his office.

"No breakfast this morning?"

"Nope." Stiles told him. "Not hungry."

John gave a slight smile and said, "Well have a nice day and take it easy."

"I will dad. See ya!" Stiles grabbed his keys and rushed outside, climbing into his jeep.

Stiles arrived at Beacon Hills High School within ten minutes and strode through the front doors. The minute he entered silence overtook the halls and he was aware of everyone watching him.

Stiles made his way to his locker and opened it, rummaging through it searching for his books. Whilst he was doing this, everyone went back to what they were doing and he let out a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding.

Stiles found the books he was looking for, grabbed them and closed his locker. He turned and walked down the hall towards his class. On his way there Scott joined him.

"Hey Stiles!" Scott exclaimed, throwing his arm around Stiles' shoulders. "How's your first day back so far?"

"Fine. Thanks for asking." Stiles said. As they passed by Danny--who was indeed checking Stiles out, he added, "I am kind of....I don't know. Disappointed maybe?"

Scott looked at him confused. "Why?"

Stiles shrugged as they entered their classroom. "I haven't seen Alec since that night."

Scott laughed and shook his head. "Dude..you really liked him didn't you?"

Stiles ignored him and they took their seats in their usual spots--the back of the classroom. Stiles thought about Alec. The dark haired, blue eyed stranger he'd met at the nightclub.

Stiles admitted he liked him and he wanted to see him again. The door opened and Mr. Glasser walked in followed by none other than Alec. Stiles immediately sat up straight in his seat, eagerness in his eyes.

"Class this is our new transfer student Alec Lightwood. He's come all the way from New York so please treat him nicely." Mr. Glasser turned to Alec. "Go ahead and find a seat."

Stiles felt his heart beat faster and he knew it was because the only seat left was next to him and he found himself watching Alec, who hadn't noticed him yet.

When Alec was standing a couple feet away, he looked up from the floor and saw Stiles. His eyes lit up and he smiled. He took the seat beside Stiles and said, "Hey. Stiles right?"

Stiles nodded, smiling back at him. "Yep. Haven't seen you since...I first saw you."

Alec smiled apologetically. "Sorry. I wanted to stop by but...moving in. I had a lot to do." Alec stated. "How are you by the way?"

Stiles had turned to face the front of the room, but glanced at him. "Alive would be my answer but that's obvious so..I'm better. No pain at all."

Alec simply nodded as class started. Stiles couldn't help but sneak glances at him, wondering what this mysterious boy was doing in Beacon Hills, California.

After class Stiles made his way to the locker room to keep Scott company while he got changed for Lacrosse. Stiles was told by his doctors that he couldn't play Lacrosse for a couple months after he was released from the hospital for fear of his stitches opening up.

So he decided to watch the team practice.

However there was this new blonde guy in the locker room and Stiles knew that the guy was watching him. Why, he had no idea.

Stiles ran into Danny on his way out to the field. Danny looked him up and down and said,

"Hey Stiles. How ya feeling?"

Stiles looked at him curiously. "Great actually. Just going to watch the team practice."

"Why?" Danny asked.

"Well I just got shot with an arrow three weeks ago and I was told not to play for a couple months in case my stitches open up." Stiles said slightly sarcastic. "Not to mention Lacrosse is a physical sport and there's no way I'm getting thrown on my ass and rushed to the hospital because I was stupid enough to play."

Danny tilted his head. "Okay. By the way...you look hot today."

Stiles gaped and watched Danny walk away, feeling his cheeks burn. Stiles shook his head, clearing it of any thoughts. He turned to see Scott smirking at him from the doorway.

"Oh you think that's funny?" Stiles said glaring at him.

Scott thought for a second before he laughed. "Yeah actually I do."

Stiles pouted and followed Scott out onto the field. He made his way over to the bleachers and sat down whilst Scott started practice with the team.

While Stiles watched he was aware of someone coming to sit next to him. Turning his head, he saw that it the blonde boy from the locker room.

"Names Jace." The blond said, sticking his hand out.

"Stiles." He glanced at his hand warily before taking it and shaking it.

"Alec talks about you a lot." Jace said. Stiles frowned at him and Jace chuckled adding, "Alec and I are brothers."

That makes sense. Two new kids in the same day, Stiles thought.

"He talks about me?"

Jace nodded but didn't say anything else. Stiles watched practice thinking about what Alec could possibly talk about him for.

But deep down he felt his heart flutter at the thought of Alec talking about him.
