Chapter Three
Christmas was just around the corner and Draco had bought a Christmas tree into the house. He placed it in the corner of the living room and decorated the Christmas tree with Hermione. Although they talked and laughed half heartedly, they could feel their relationship wasn't as strong as before.
Hermione felt she was to blame for their relationship. She had been selfish. Hermione knew he didn't want the baby but... she did. She wouldn't want to give them away. She decided to give Draco some time and space.
Christmas day, Hermione woke up late next to Draco. They were going to the burrow for Christmas dinner. The thought of the amazing food, made by Mrs Weasley, made her mouth water.
She took a quick shower and walked back into the bedroom. Draco was still sleeping as per usual. She opened her cupboard and knew she would never fit into her dresses.
‘Merry Christmas.’ Draco said, sitting up in bed. He yawned loudly, his hair sticking up every which way.
‘Merry Christmas to yourself, sleepy,’ Hermione whispered back.
‘What are you going to wear?’ Draco asked, walking over to the mirror in only his boxers. Hermione found herself checking him out and sighed; this was no time for her mood swings and hormonal thoughts.
‘I don't know... I'll never fit into these.’ Hermione moaned, pouting as she pushed her dresses aside.
‘Check at the back.’ Draco smiled and made his way to the bathroom.
Hermione heard the shower turn on, feeling curious. She spotted a bag at the back of the cupboard. Opening it, she saw a black and red maternity dress. She quickly put it on and looked in the mirror, hoping she looked presentable since Draco had got it for her.
She looked very big in it and despite it being a maternity dress, it was still a little tight at her stomach but it'd do. She put light red eye shadow on, eyeliner, lipstick and black earrings.
‘You look good.’ Draco said walking out of the bathroom, a towel draped around his waist.
‘Thanks.’ Hermione said, rubbing eyeliner from under her eyes, ‘and thanks for the dress! Is this my Christmas present?
‘Nope. I bought you something else too,’ Draco said, tugging his trousers and shirt on. He reached above the cupboard and handed her a small package, ‘Christmas present.’
Hermione opened the package and she held up a small green bracelet. It had six green love-hearts around a long silver chain. It sat perfectly on her wrist as Draco tied it on, making her stomach fill with butterflies.
The bracelet shone brightly and Hermione gasped. It was simply the most beautiful piece of jewellery ever. Every small, green heart had one word on it. It read 'Draco Loves Hermione Forever and Always.'
‘Thank you so much.’ Hermione said, hugging him tight, ‘I love you.’
‘I love you too, so much. And... When the bracelet shines it shows that you love the person who put it on you.’ Draco said, grinning.
‘I do love you, Draco, and we don’t need a bracelet to show that,’ Hermione said, placing a hand on his cheek as she kissed his cheek and wiped away the lipstick mark.
‘You can change the colour with a simple spell.’ Draco said and told her the spell.
Hermione took her wand and said the spell. The bracelet changed from a lovely green to a stormy grey, making Draco smile.
‘Oh... And where's my present?’ He asked, jokingly.
‘I'll give it to you tonight.’ Hermione said, winking.

At the burrow, Hermione insisted on helping with the dinner but everyone told her to sit and take it easy, so she sat next to Draco who was talking to Harry. The perks of being pregnant, she thought with a sly smile.
‘Draco, come here, son.’ Mr Weasley said, gesturing him.
Hermione raised an eyebrow; son? Draco went over to Mr Weasley after a second of hesitation. Harry came and sat next to Hermione. He patted her stomach softly, smiling a little.
‘Getting big.’
Hermione rolled her eyes at him.
‘Listen, Hermione, I didn't know who else to talk to...’ Harry started a little nervously, his voice dropping slightly so that he was nearly whispering but she could still hear him.
‘You can tell me. What is it?’ Hermione asked, sitting up and leaning a little closer to him.
‘Well, Ginny's pregnant. I mean, the baby wasn't planned and... she doesn't want to give it away but we can't handle a kid right now,’ Harry sighed, running a hand through his hair.
Hermione's eyes widened. They were going through what Draco and herself had gone through, although there babies were planned. Maybe not the twin part but still...
‘Harry, my advice is to just think about it and do what feels right.’ Hermione said, ‘You'll know what you want. Talk to Ginny about it.’
Harry glanced around and saw Draco coming back. He nodded and thanked her before walking away, not really wanting to talk about it in front of Draco. Draco sat down next to Hermione, placing a hand on her thigh.
‘What was all that about?’ Hermione asked, kissing his cheek.
‘Mr Weasley told me that weasel coming over and I've to 'behave'.’ Draco grimaced.
Hermione was silent. Ron was coming over? She had wondered where he had been after he had left her that day. She grimaced too as she thought about her argument with Draco over Ron... this wouldn’t end well.
‘You can talk to him, if you want, I won't get angry.’ Draco said, watching her. It took a lot of courage just to say those words.
‘Draco-’ Hermione started but was interrupted by Mrs Weasley calling them to the kitchen.
They got up and made their way to the kitchen. The table had been made larger and food was spread about everywhere. It looked so tasty, Hermione just wanted to eat it all. She sat down next to Ginny and Draco sat next to her. Hermione smiled at Ginny and she smiled back.
‘Ron!’ Mrs Weasley said.
Hermione looked up and saw Ron walking into the kitchen. Dumping bags of presents onto the floor, he hugged his mum and took a seat next to George, who was staring at his food, oblivious to his surroundings.
Hermione waved to Ron when he looked up at her. He nodded back and turned his gaze away. Hermione's face fell into a small pout and she looked down. She hated being so... distant with one of her best friends.
Mrs Weasley told everyone to get started and they did. Hermione took all she could get. Draco chuckled as she filled her plate up. Everyone talked and laughed. Mr Weasley made a comment about Hermione's eating which made everyone laugh. Ginny pushed her food around her plate and Harry gave her a sympathetic smile.
After dinner, the whole family sat in the living room, exchanging presents. Hermione and Draco got mostly baby toys and clothes. They thanked them and handed out their presents too. Ron seemed to be keeping his distance from Hermione and Draco.
‘I'm going to give Ron his present okay?’ Hermione said to Draco.
‘If you must,’ Draco said, lightly kissing her.
Hermione got up, rolling his eyes at Draco, and went to sit beside Ron. He looked up and smiled slightly.
‘You're getting big,’ Ron said, repeating the same words as Harry.
‘Merry Christmas, Ron.’ Hermione said, handing him a present.
He thanked her and opened it, revealing a large box of Bertie bots flavoured beans.
‘Since we were young, I always got chocolates or these from you for my birthday so I thought it was only fair to give you a present you could eat.’ Hermione said, chuckling.
‘Thanks, that means a lot. Here, I got you this.’ Ron said, handing her a small rectangular package which Hermione took.
Hermione opened it to find a small baby frock.
‘Thank you.’ Hermione said and leaned in to hug him.
Ron hesitated before hugging her back. Hermione smiled and went to sit next to Draco.
---
When Hermione got home, she took all the presents and dumped them in the babies room. She then lay on her bed, tired. Draco walked in and took his shirt and trousers off, wearing only boxers he climbed into bed.
Hermione took her dress off and lay under the covers, cuddling into Draco. A finger slowly trailed down her spine and she shivered.
‘I love you,’ Draco whispered.
‘I love you too,’ Hermione whispered back.
She leaned up to kiss him. Draco kissed her back, his hands on her stomach. They were in a moment of pure bliss when the doorbell rang, interrupting their kissing session. Draco groaned against her lips, wanting to ignore the doorbell but of course he couldn’t.
The doorbell ringing pulled them apart and Draco frowned checking the time. He quickly got up and pulled trousers and a shirt on, wondering who in the world would be coming to their house at this time.
‘I'll be right back.’ He said, going downstairs.
Hermione heard him open the door and he talked to someone. She got up and found a robe. Tying it around herself, she went downstairs. The sight that met her eyes made her rush down stairs, forgetting for a second that she was pregnant.
Some girl was kissing Draco on the mouth; fully making out with him as though his heavily pregnant wife wasn’t standing just there. He was leaned against the door, struggling to push her back. Hermione was half way down the stairs when Draco pushed the girl away from him, a look of disgust on his face.
Hermione recognised the girl as Pansy Parkinson. Although she was pregnant; her figure was lost to a huge belly. Draco swore out loud at Pansy, his eyes dropping to her stomach.
‘Get out of my house!’ Draco yelled at her.
‘I'll get you even if it takes forever,’ Pansy muttered, kissing him on his cheek and walking out. She threw a smirk at Hermione, a look of disbelief covered her face.
‘What a whore. She got pregnant with someone else's child and she claims I'm the dad?’ Draco frowned, helping Hermione upstairs.
‘Who does that?’ Hermione glared at nothing in particular.
She had never thought Pansy would just turn up at their doorstep and start making out with her husband! Yuck!
‘Forget her. Where were we?’ Hermione said taking his mind off of Pansy, she lead Draco to the bedroom.
