Chapter Five
Hermione hated staying at the hospital but she had to. The bed was uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on a rock, although she did do a spell to make it softer and the food wasn't great but Draco did bring her food from home.
When she finally got out of the hospital and got home, she saw that Draco had got toys, lots of baby toys, cars, barbies and clothes for Hallie and Dray.
Hermione had trouble walking. Her stomach hurt too much so she could hardly walk. Especially not up the stairs.
She got inside the house, walking in small steps. Sitting on the sofa, holding Dray, while Draco held Hallie in his arms, Hermione watched them. Draco was making faces at the baby, cute faces for sure but Hermione couldn't help but laugh.
"You do realise she can't see yet." Hermione said, laughing.
Draco shrugged nonchalantly.
"Draco, are you happy with this?" Hermione asked, seriously.
"Yeah I am, Hermione. I don't know why I even thought of not wanting kids with you." Draco said, looking at her, "Although... Dray looks like my father, don't you think?"
"Drake, I love you and just because we have two children doesnt mean my love for you will get any less. To be honest my love has grown." Hermione took his hand, "I can't see myself with someone else but you. And, trust me, Dray's face will change over the passing months."
"Hmm." Draco said, looking at Haillie.
They sat on the comfortable sofa, holding the children ad they talked. When it was time, Draco put them in the cot and Hermione waited downstairs. Draco came back and took her hand, helping her stand.
Hermione groaned with pain, taking small steps. Draco sighed and picked Hermione up bridal style to her immense embarrassment.
"Am I heavy?" She asked, cuddling into his chest as he climbed the stairs.
"Not in the slightest." He said, although a soft groan made Hermione think otherwise.
Draco and Hermione entered their bedroom. She saw that Draco had pushed the cots beside their beds.
"Just so you don't have to walk to much." He said, watching her.
"That's very thoughtful, thanks Drake." Hermione said, kissing him.
And both lay on the bed, going to sleep in less than a minute. They had to wake up when both Hallie and Dray cried at the same time.
------
Hermione could hear the phone ringing. It was as loud as rampaging hippogriffs, or maybe it was just her. Her head hurt so much, like someone pressing her brain against her skull.
"Pick up the phone, Draco." Hermione muttered, feeling his arm around her.
"Mmm," He said and after dropping something on the floor, he answered, "Hello... No, we... um... We were sleeping. Just about to get up... What? It's only... Oh! Okay. Come around at about 5. Sure, bye."
Draco swore, putting the phone down, he turned and cuddled into Hermione.
"Don't swear, Draco." Hermione muttered, "Who was it?"
"Mother and she said she's coming at five and so are the Weasley's." Draco said, cuddling into her, after a few seconds he added, "and it's 4:45pm now."
"What?!" Hermione said, sitting up but feeling the pain, she clutched her stomach, closing her eyes from the pain.
"Are you okay...? You stay here. You don't need to make dinner or anything for them. They'll understand. Please just lie down?" Draco insisted and Hermione obeyed.
Hermione couldn't understand how late they had slept in.
Looking to the two cots beside her she saw that Dray was asleep, even though the phone rang loudly, he was a heavy sleeper and Hallie was awake, smiling to herself. Reaching slowly over she picked Halllie up, who's eyes widened, showing the light grey that looked exactly like Draco's eyes.
"Hiya, Haillie darling." Hermione muttered, playing with her.
Draco got up and went into the bathroom, appearing about five minutes later, a towel wrapped around his waist.
"I don't know what to wear." He said, opening the cupboard and peering inside it.
"Wear that shirt I got you. The black one." Hermione said.
Hallie started crying so Hermione feed her and a second later Dray started crying. Draco laughed as Hermione tried to soothe both of them.
There was a knock at the door and Draco quickly put Haillie in the cot as she stopped crying.
"Don't get up or move or anything." Draco said before walking out.
Minutes later, he came back with Narcissa, who held two bags of clothes and presents.
"Hi, darling." she said, smiling.
Putting the bags down she carefully picked up Dray from Hermione. A smile spread wide and pride showing on her face.
"He's beautiful. Eye's just like Luc- I mean Draco." Narcissa said, smoothly covering her mistake, "I didn't think I would get grand children. Draco wasn't great with kids."
Draco behind her frowned lifting up his arms as if to say 'What?', obviously offended by the 'eyes just like Lucius.' Hermione just shook her head, warning him not to speak.
"It was hard, wasn't it? The birth? I remember when I had Draco, he just wouldn't come-" Narcissa said.
"Mum, please, I don't need that image." Draco said, closing his eyes in disgust, the image popping into his head.
There was another knock on the door and Draco went to get it and Hermione rocked Dray in her arms as Mrs Weasley, Harry, Ginny and Ron walked in, cooing over Haillie and Dray.
"Did it hurt?" Ginny whispered, bending down next to Hermione's bed, smoothly touching Dray's sleeping self on the cheek.
"Ginny, trust me. You'll forget the pain once you have a baby in your arms. Or in my case two babies." Hermione said, smiling as she looked at Dray, who lay sleeping.
"Hermione, congratulations. What are their names?" Mrs Weasley asked.
"Draco decided Haillie and I decided Dray." said Hermione.
"Dray and Haillie, that's nice," Narcissa
"Hermione?" Draco said, getting everyone's attention, "I was thinking, why don't we make Ginny the godmother?"
"Me?" Ginny gasped, looking at Draco, "I would love to."
"Sure and Harry can be the godfather." Hermione said.
"That's great." Harry replied, with a smile.
Ron walked over to Draco, whispering something and Hermione looked at them. Everyone else were talking and oblivious to Ron and Draco. Ron slightly pushed Draco's chest and Draco raised his eyebrows muttering a few words before walking past him although he was sure to knock shoulders with him. Draco sat next to his Mother who held Haillie in her arms.
After they had left, Hermione looked through all the gifts. Most consisted of clothes and toys, although there were a few parenting books for Hermione. Draco walked in with a green apple. Biting into it he sat on the bed, deep in thought.
"What did Ron say?" Hermione asked, reaching out a hand to him.
He took the hand and moved closer to her.
"Don't worry about that..." Draco said, kissing her cheek.
"Drake-"
"Hermione, please, I'm not in the mood. We're only going to end up fighting." Draco said, lying next to her, "and I don't want that."
Hermione sighed before muttering a 'okay.' Draco lay on his stomach and watched her as she talked about something but Draco's mind was on the conversation with Ron.
-------------
A/N - Writing this is really making me hate Ron. He's pretty OOC or maybe he would still be like that if Draco actually liked Hermione in the book. Hmm.
Anyway guys, I'll try my best to upload but I've got exams and stuff coming up so... :(
Hope you like it :)
