TEN. the happy couple makes her envy

CARLOS' QUINCEAÑERO had almost been in full swing. Everyone had been making several last minute adjustments to Seb's barn as their time was quickly winding down.

"Shiloh Molina."

She looked up from her candy assortments and smiled, "Benjamin Mazzara."

"I have a question."

"I'm pretty sure I have an answer."

"How do I approach... a woman?"

Shiloh stopped her decorating and looked back at Mr. Mazzara. She titled her head slightly trying to find out if he was messing with her or not.

"Seriously?" She questioned.

"This was a mistake."

"No, no, no, no! It's just we haven't gotten many adults asking us for help like that, so it's weird. Especially coming from you."

"Thanks."

"Not a bad weird, just different." Shiloh sighed, "Who do you want to approach?"

"Does it matter?"

"Do you want help?"

Mr. Mazzara sighed. It felt like he had hit rock bottom in his dating pool. He had been asking a teenaged girl for relationship help.

"Yes, I would like help."

"You don't have to tell me her name, but can you describe her to me?"

"Pretty short, blond-"

"Miss. Jenn?"

Mr. Mazzara paused, "Is it obvious?"

"Is it obvious that you have a crush on the same woman my boyfriend's dad does? Yes, painfully. You guys ooze the enemies to lovers trope."

"This isn't a romantic novel, Shiloh. This is reality."

"But it could be your romantic novel! You and your enemies to lovers protagonist having this huge argument and then you kiss her and then-"

"Shiloh."

Shiloh chuckled, "I'll talk to Evie and figure something out for you, but just like I tell everyone else. We are not a breakup club. If things work out with Miss. Jenn and Mr. Bowen... they work out."

Mr. Mazzara nodded, "So, Benjamin-"

"Mr. Mazzara."

"Mr. Mazzara, do you want the Love Clubs' help?" Shiloh asked, holding her hand out.

"Yes."

"I'll let you know everything before tonight is over."

As Mr. Mazzara shook Shiloh's hand; Mike had approached the two of them.

"I'll leave you with that awkwardness." Shiloh smiled.

THE PARTY was officially about to start. The barn doors opening as everyone saw Seb and Carlos standing on the other side.

"Happy Birthday, Carlos!" Everyone shouted.

"Wait. This can't be happening." Carlos said.

"It is." Seb smiled.

"I'm not wearin' a party outfit."

"We got you covered."

Soon, Carlos had changed into his outfit and the showing for him had begun. Ricky and Nini stood on stage, the spotlight shining bright on them as they smiled.

"Hey, everyone!" Nini smiled, "I think you kinda, you know..."

"Did you know about that line?" Evie whispered.

Shiloh shook her head gently, "It's not a big deal, E. Relax." She smiled.

Even since Gina had dropped that bomb on them, they haven't been able to recover from it. Telling Shiloh was a no-go now, but protecting her from harm was always upfront.

Gina had walked on stage next. Ricky and Nini swiftly leaving the stage and joining their friends on the bales of hay.

"Carlos Rodriguez, we, um, haven't always seen eye-to-eye when it comes to running rehearsals... and, honestly, I sorta had no idea what to get you tonight." Gina laughed, "And then Sebbie showed me that clip of you in seventh grade, dancing. I was like, "Oh... Okay, so, we're actually the exact same." Because I remember where I was in seventh grade, or, uh, all of the places that I was that year. And I would just dance and dance alone in my bedroom to stay busy and escape. But the difference between us is that I never would have put that out into the world and I never would have left that up on Instagram after some of the comments you got..." Gina scoffed, "Haters gonna hate. Anyways, um, tonight I'm recreating your dance. Because, we might not share a choreography brain, but I think you know we share a dancer heart. No matter what happens tomorrow, or the day after that, we just keep on dancing. Role the tape."

A video of Carlos played on the project. He had listed out his goals and dreams and soon enough, his dance had begun. Once his video had stopped Gina busted out into her own song and dance causing everyone to cheer for her.

Once that was over, they had disbanded for a moment. Shiloh glanced off and notice Gina by herself.

She separated herself from Ricky and joined Gina's side.

"Hey, Gina. Your song and dance were... absolutely amazing."

Gina smiled, "Thanks, Shiloh."

"Um, I noticed your voice kind of shaky when you were giving your speech. I just wanted to know if you're okay?"

"Yeah. I... feel like I've done everything I needed to do here."

"That's great, G." Shiloh smiled, "I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

Gina nodded and smiled as Shiloh turned.

"Hey, I'll make sure to leave that five star review."

Shiloh turned and furrowed her brows.

"I was asking as me. Not "The Love Club" or whatever they call me these days." She smiled, "I was genuinely asking you as myself, if you were okay."

Gina nodded slowly, "Thanks, Shiloh."

"Anytime, Gina."

Soon, everyone had gathered around the bales of hay.

"Okay, who stole my boyfriend?" Carlos asked.

As if on queue, Mike rolled the truck back into the barn with Seb and a piano sitting in the back.

"Carlos, hi." Seb smiled, "Um, I think you know that there is nothing greater than the love we share for power ballads originally sung by iconic women. Yes, you're my boyfriend but you're also sort of my hero. Here's something I never told you. That video from when you were thirteen has one thousand views. I would say roughly one hundred of them were from me. I was twelve years old, and hiding in my room, in every sense of that word. Uh, your post kinda went viral. Semi-viral for Utah. Um, I didn't know who you were, I barely knew who I was. I just knew that I felt inspired. So, I just kept on hitting repeat. So, thank you. And, Happy Birthday." Seb sighed, "Oh, and I hope it's not disappointing to the King of Fashion that I'm wearing the same suit that I wore to Homecoming. My parents said that I have to wear this till I grow out of it. Okay, here goes."

As Seb put his own little rendition of The Climb by Miley Cyrus. After the music stopped, everyone applauded the blond boy.

Carlos stood from his spot and made his way towards Seb. The two of them sharing a small, intimate moment before facing the others.

"Um... I'm not sure how I can thank you all for this. I've never been accused of being speechless. I can't thank you all enough for just getting me. Everybody should have people who just get them."

"We love you, Carlos!" Rico, one of the dancers, shouted.

"I've done a little research, and if this is, in fact, your quinceañero, then he must choose his madrina." Seb smiled, "That means godmother."

"Honey, I'm not that bad at Spanish."

"One, two, three, not it!" Kourtney shouted, "I got enough jobs as it is already."

Carlos smiled, listing Miss. Jenn as his madrina which quickly sent her into tears of joy.

Once again, everyone had separated. Shiloh sat alone at a table, mindlessly scrolling on her phone.

Her social media (along with the other Love Club members) had grown at a rapid speed. Shiloh ranking the most followers on each social media platform she had. Her post of her and Ricky getting more likes and comments than she had expected.

Shiloh had grown to not listen to what people said about her, none of it was true anyway. Someone like Ashley and Jenna took a lot longer (and still are) to deal with that hate or whatever it may be but, Shiloh on the other hand had gotten the most "hate" from people. She solution? Delete the comments and limit what she could.

Soon, a cupcake was placed in front of her. She sat her phone down and glanced up at Ricky.

"Thank you." She smiled.

"Ah." Ricky stopped. He pulled a candle from his pocket, placed it onto the cupcake, and lit it, "I know this isn't much, but because you also never had a quinceañero- quinceñera I thought that this was the best I could do."

"Ricky, you didn't have-"

"I wanted to. Now," Ricky said holding the cupcake, "make a wish. Make it fast, the wax is going to melt onto the frosting."

She smiled as she threw her arm around Ricky's shoulder, pulled him closer to her side. She shut her eyes for a moment before blowing the candle out.

"Whatcha wish for?"

Shiloh held her smile, "I can't tell you or it won't come true."

She took her finger and wiped some frosting off of the cupcake. She smiled as she wiped the frosting onto Ricky's nose.

"Oh, my- I didn't mean that." She laughed.

"Oh, yeah. I'm sure it was an accident." Ricky smiled, removing the candle from the cupcake, and smashed the cupcake on the lower half of her face, avoiding her glasses as he did so, "Yeah. That was an accident too."

Shiloh took her finger and wiped some of the frosting off of Ricky's nose. She tasted it and tilted her head.

"Pretty good. Too bad your douchebag Throb is lingering on it."

"I do not use the cologne anymore."

"I know the body wash exists."

Ricky laughed, "Of course you do. Happy, very late, quinceñera."

As the two of them leaned forward, Shiloh stopped suddenly and drew her attention towards the napkins on the table.

"Give me one minute. One minute tops." She smiled.

She grabbed several napkins from the table and wiped the frosting from her face.

She gently tugged on Miss. Jenn's hand, "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

Miss. Jenn quickly nodded and the two of them stood in a less crowded area.

"Um... I also never got a quinceñera-"

"Oh, Shiloh, I'm sure Carlos would've loved to shar-"

"No, it's his special day. Besides, Ricky did a little thing for me. Because Ricky threw me a very small quinceñera I also get to pick a madrina, and I was wondering if you would as like to be mine?"

Miss. Jenn had gone out of her way on multiple occasions to seek the help of the Love Club and Shiloh had appreciated every single time Miss. Jenn had asked her for help. Without Miss. Jenn, a lot of the club's success wouldn't exist.

Miss. Jenn burst into tears again and pulled Shiloh into a very tight hug, "Oh, Shiloh, sweetheart!" She cried, "Thank you, of course."

Shiloh held a semi-awkward smile. It was strange that Miss. Jenn had cried, but it was possibly because she actually cared about the people cooped up in the barn.

"I have to find Kourtney again. I'm going to look like the clown from It... again."

Miss. Jenn gave Shiloh one last squeeze before heading off and finding Kourtney.

Shiloh returned to Ricky's side, a smile on her face, "Thank you for my mini quinceñera. I couldn't have asked for anything better."

"Anything for you." Ricky smiled, "I love you."

"I love you, very much."

Ricky didn't wait a second longer to place his lips on top of Shiloh's.

The "it girl" seemed to have it all. The boyfriend, the best friend group, and the fame, success, and glory. Gina Porter envied Shiloh Molina and she hated that. Shiloh was one of the nicest (if you weren't mean to her or her friends) girls she has ever met and only wanted to help people. The whole point of the Love Club, but despite it all Gina hated that she couldn't get the same "fifteen minutes of fame" like the others.

Gina didn't need that envy around others. So, why not leave before anyone could notice.
