SEVENTEEN. the one where shiloh molina talks about the scar

"AND I'M Shiloh Molina and we're the Love Club."

Los Angeles, California. The city of angels and the home of the people who lived lavish lives.

They hadn't met Taylor Swift sadly, but on the way to the Teen Vogue photoshoot, they just so happened to run into Evie Fernandez's number one crush of all time... Madison Beer. It was the one thing they talked about until they had to be separated for hair and makeup.

Now, plans had changed for Shiloh Molina. She was supposed to be on a plane to Chicago in a couple of days, but of course, Ricky and Shiloh had broken up. Ricky was going to lie to his mother about why Shiloh couldn't show, but Shiloh wanted him to be flat out and tell the truth.

"That's great." The producer smile, "We're going to do small "get to know me" videos and bring you all back to answer fan questions from the bowl."

The Love Club didn't see themselves as famous. They would always joke about how they were at least influencer famous, but sometimes it didn't even feel like that. They would see videos and pictures of people getting stopped in the streets and being asked for photos or asked questions. On the super rare occasion, it did happen to the members, but not as often as what the tabloids may think.

The five stood from the couch and began to go their separate ways until they were called for their personal shoots.

But they weren't separated for long as Mr. Mazzara called the group over and placed the laptop in front of them.

In front of them, the drama department and Miss. Jenn on a Zoom call.

"Oh, look at you beautiful children." Miss. Jenn smiled, "I really hate to disturb you when you're all the way in California."

"Have you met any celebrities yet?" Seb asked.

Evie smiled and grabbed the laptop, making their way back into their dressing room.

"You will not believe who we bumped into! And I got a picture with her! It was the craziest thing to ever happen to me." Evie gushed.

It didn't last long as the other four members burst into the dressing with her. Shiloh grabbed the laptop from their hands and placed it on the white vanity.

"It's fine, Miss. Jenn. They called us for a break anyways."

"Okay. Looks like we are only missing Ricky." Miss. Jenn sighed, "Shiloh, have you heard from him?"

At this point, Miss. Jenn was the only one unaware of Shiloh and Ricky breaking up. Did Shiloh feel awkward about it? Not as much as she thought. Duh, she missed being in a relationship with Ricky. He was the best boyfriend she had ever had, but she didn't feel awkward answering questions about him... at least, for now anyway.

As for the others in the call, it felt very awkward. Shiloh didn't know who spilled the beans about the breakup (most likely Big Red or Ashlyn), but it didn't matter. People were going to find out eventually.

As for Miss. Jenn's question; Shiloh had not heard from Ricky whatsoever. She had asked him to call her when he had gotten into Chicago safely and he didn't. She could only assume he got there in one piece.

"Um, I think Ricky is in Chicago, Miss. Jenn." She answered.

"Okay," Miss. Jenn clapped, "I'm sure you're wondering why I've gathered you all here. Opening night is only three weeks away, folks. That means we need to stay focused. And I know I can't... Won't make you work over the break. But I needed to remind you, face-to-face, stakes are high. Please, for the love of theater, do not take the word "break" literally. Be safe. Okay, well, have fun. Stay in touch. And now you have this link, so hop on anytime. I'm basically the queen of modern technology, so..."

"Wait! Doesn't anyone want to hear about how we bumped into Madison Beer?" Evie asked.

But she was over-spoken, people shouted their chorus of goodbye's and the club waved goodbye and Evie let out a huff.

"Seb wanted to know the celebrity we met. She signed my phone case!"

"She also promised to follow you on Instagram when she got the chance." Madison smiled, sitting down on the small, green couch in Evie's dressing room.

"She knew who we were! She pointed us out on the street! She tapped Shiloh's shoulder and was like, "Hey, are you Shiloh Molina?" isn't that insane to you all?"

It was a starstruck moment when Evie's number one celebrity crush knew who everyone in the Love Club and but first and last names, yeah it was pretty shocking, to say the least. It made them wonder who else could've known who they were. Did Chris Evan? Millie Bobby Brown? Noah Schnapp? Maybe even Emma Chamberlain. The list was endless, but it was a list that was kept in the back of their pockets.

"Are you okay, Shiloh?" Ashley asked.

Shiloh glanced up from her phone. Still no reply from Ricky. She was nervous that he didn't go to Chicago at all, at this point. He was adamant about going with her and now that the couple was splitsville, she wasn't sure where his mind was. Hell, she didn't know where he was.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine, just checkin' stuff."

"You know, you can talk to us about the boy whose name rhymes with Dicky?" Evie smiled.

"Yeah, it's just... Ricky's been MIA, which is fine, a lot of people do it. I just wanted to know if he's gotten to Chicago okay."

"I'm sure Ricky's fine." Jenna reassured, "If he wasn't I'm sure we would've known by now."

"He should be sad." Evie smiled.

Madison grabbed a pillow nearby and hit Evie with it, "What is wrong with you?"

"Look, I go through the breakup phase with Shiloh. If she's sad, I'm angry. That's how it works. It's always been like that." Evie answered, "Don't hit me again. If they have to glue this eyelash back on I'm gonna scream."

"It's fine." Shiloh sighed, "Just want to know if he's okay."

"He's fine." Jenna said.

She grabbed Shiloh's phone and opened Instagram. She quickly took a picture of her and Shiloh and posted it on her story.

"We're in California. We met a celebrity and we are here until the end of spring break." Jenna said, "I know you said you wanted to get your mind off of him and by doing the "Jenna California Bucket List" you are."

"You made a bucket list? Specifically for California?" Ashley asked.

"Yes, and we aren't leaving here until I take a picture with Taylor Swift... or a realistic cardboard cut out."

"Jen's right. This is California. None of us have ever stepped foot out of Salt Lake. I think we should make the most out of this trip... boy free." Madison said.

"Wait, I didn't say boy free." Jenna said, "Did you see the guy at the local coffee shop? This is a stress-free week. I'm meeting with all the California guys while I can."

"Okay, Jenna, you do that with Hawkeye Mazzara on our backs." Evie said.

"Look, Mr. Mazzara was nice enough to help us run this club as smoothly as it was before. He's our... manager if you will. We need him and he needs us." Shiloh smiled.

"Oh, Miss. Jenn. Nearly forgot. He's been down my neck asking me if Miss. Jenn has said anything about Mike."

Shiloh shoved her phone in her back pocket, "I'm sure you'll have an answer for him soon. But I agree. This is a stress-free and boy free-"

"Boy free for you maybe." Jenna smiled.

"Whatever. I'm down for the bucket list."

"Awesome... does anyone know where the... Grove is?" Jenna asked, "Apparently that's where all the famous people will be."

There was a small knock on the door and Mr. Mazzara popped his head inside, "They're ready for you."

The group returned to the bright white setting and plopped down in their assigned chairs. Shiloh and Evie sat in the front with Jenna, Madison, and Ashley sitting behind them.

Evie held the bowl of questions in their hands and randomly dug around the bowl. Each time, no matter who received the question, they would have to answer it. If the question had been outside anyone's comfort zone they would toss the question to the side.

The bowl had finally made its way towards Shiloh and as she dug around the bowl Mr. Mazzara wanted them attentively.

"We've noticed a scar on Shiloh's knee. Can someone explain the story?" Shiloh read, "Um..."

The only other person (besides Ricky) who knew about how Shiloh got the scar was Madison. The scar was pretty big. It started from the top of her knee to the bottom. Ricky blamed himself for the now permeated etching on her and she only cried (and laughed later).

"Skateboarding accident." She responded.

RICKY HELD Shiloh's hand tightly as she wobbled slightly back and forth in his skateboard. This had been before Christmas break, so imagine Ricky trying to teach Shiloh how to skateboard in the middle of fall and Ricky hadn't thought to bring any protective gear for her other than a helmet.

"Relax," Ricky chuckled, "I've got you. I'm not letting you go."

"I think I have some right to be scared. We're going down a hill, Ricky."

"It's a little hill. I'm not letting go." He reassured.

Shiloh gave Ricky's hand only last squeeze before gently pushing her down the hill.

You know in the movies or whatever where someone says "I'm not gonna let go." and the other responds with "You promise?"? It was kind of like that right now, expecting Ricky didn't make a promise, he slowly released Shiloh's hand and watched as she turned slightly and held her mouth slightly agape.

"You're doing it!" He smiled.

"Ricky? How do I stop?"

Ricky's smile quickly faltered and before he knew it Shiloh was out of his sight. The sounds of the skateboard gliding against the pavement stopped. He released his deep breath, figuring that she figured out how to stop. That wasn't the case.

As Ricky approached the small hill, his eyes widened slightly at the sight of Shiloh sitting on the ground holding her knee tightly in her hands and the skateboard a few feet away from her.

He let out slight curses and rushed down the hill, now sitting beside an almost teary-eyed Shiloh.

Ricky gently removed her hands from her knee and the injury couldn't be worse. Her parents were going to kill him... Jonathan was going to kill him... Evie was going to kill him.

Ricky gestured for her to wait in the spot so he could grab the skateboard. Once he did, he gently lifted Shiloh from the ground, muttering several apologies as he carried her bridal style back inside his house and into the bathroom.

He sat Shiloh on the rim of the bathroom sink and grabbed whatever he could to make whatever hurt go away.

He gently lifted her leg and watched her facial expressions slowly. She hadn't cried but she sure did want to. She only allowed the tears to brim her eyes and nothing more. He glanced back down at her leg and the more time he stared at the pending scar the worse it seemed to be.

As gently as he could, Ricky cleaned and wrapped her leg in a gauze wrapped and put her leg down.

Shiloh ran her hand through her hair and sighed. She glanced up at Ricky and could see the worried look written over his face. She hadn't realized she had spoken since she fell. Which probably worried Ricky the most. He had just gotten into a relationship with Shiloh and he had caused her injury. He didn't know if he was screwed or not just yet. I mean, the scar would definitely be a prominent figure on her body now, but she hadn't said anything about it yet.

She reached her arms out for a hug and held a small smile.

Ricky returned the small smile and wrapped his arms around Shiloh's lower back.

"I'm sorry." He muttered.

"It's okay. Besides, it might scar up pretty cool."

And it did. The abrasion never properly healed and because she kept it covered too long it ended up becoming this very jagged shape.

That was the very simple story of Shiloh's scar. Was it an exciting story? No. Would it be something that she would remember forever? Of course, it was on her body forever.

SHE SMILED slightly as she glanced up at the camera, "That's the story. It's funny now."

She dropped the question into the nearby trash and they soon called for another break.

Lucky for Miss. Jenn, who had been using the same Zoom link to have another emergency meeting.

"I've called you all here for a very serious reason. It seems Zack Roy has yet another trick up his sleeve."

"Miss. Jenn, they just dropped the video on their Instagram." Nini said.

"Are you ready?"

"Ready, Miss. Jenn."

"Kids, Nini is going to share her screen so we can all watch together."

"All right. Three, two, one."

"East High," Lily's voice rang through the computer speakers, "For decades, the students of this institution have had greatness thrust upon them. They've had fame. They've had popularity. But do they deserve it? No. We say it's time to give another school a shot at the spotlight. North High has spent its spring break on an immersion trip with nothing but theater in their hearts and minds. Meanwhile, East High has been slacking off in style, almost as if they know they can't win."

"Okay, okay we've seen enough." Miss. Jenn sighed.

"Did you just watch what I watched? That was insane." Carlos said.

"Yeah, everyone calm down. We just need a plan. If we want to beat them at their own game, we need to play by their rules. But add a twist, of course. Let's do something subtle, but public. To show them that we're still in this to win it."

"I don't really do subtle." Carlos quipped.

"But you sure do public." Seb added.

The response from Seb seemed snarky but was avoided when Nini spoke up.

"We're on it, Miss. Jenn."

Miss. Jenn sighed, "Godspeed."

Shiloh quickly shut the laptop and faced the others. She was sick and tired of Lily. She was going to do whatever it took to simply get rid of her.

"Oh, my God! She followed me! And messaged me! I'm gonna faint." Evie smiled.

"Ask her if she's busy between the end of the shoot and the rest of our break." Shiloh said, "We are not letting Lily win."

That was something Shiloh promised.
