SEVEN. the univited love club member

TO LIVE the life of Sharpay Evans seemed to be so glorious. She had the fame, fortune, and so much more. She lived this fabulous life (she even said so) and nothing could bring down Sharpay's parade.

That was the life the some kids sought out. It didn't matter if they were Sharpay or Gabriella or Taylor McKessie. Those girls had the it factor and most likely (if they were real) would be super famous.

If you asked Shiloh at the age of, let's say five, if she wanted to be those girls that she saw on TV; she would've said yes without a second thought.

They had the guy of their dreams, the friends they loved, and everything seemed to go their way.

Shiloh had some of that.

She had her friends who she loved and Ricky Bowen.

Was there a words that was better than boyfriend? Ricky was so much more than that label. He was kind, caring, and of course he had his moments, everyone did, but nothing could change how Shiloh saw Ricky.

With that said, Shiloh didn't have one thing. She didn't have a lot of things go her way. But how? She was the Love Club girl. She basically had the whole fame platter in front of her face. Literally the day she downloaded TikTok and posted her first video she had gained following from some of the biggest names on the app.

She had that, but she wasn't happy with it. She felt free with the Love Club and she knew she felt herself with her friends, family, her stupid little boyfriend who she adored.

How come, when she looked into this mirror in the Honeycomb cabin, something felt different about today?

Shiloh pushed her glasses up. She wore a bright, almost royal blue cami top paired with matching, floaty shorts. And of course, once again, her beat up Converse.

She knew what she was feeling this way on this day specifically. It was the day of the read through and she had never done anything like this before. This would be different than her sitting behind a table and watching Ricky horribly try and get Nini and this was definitely different than her just sitting there and watching Jenna shine.

This was her day, as Ricky mentioned the night before.

Her day to show that she was so much more than the label the internet gave her. But don't get it twisted, Shiloh would do anything for the Love Club. That was her pride and joy wrapped into a small bubble. But she had a name, she had a face, and she knew that being Shiloh Molina would mean so much more than being that Love Club girl that no one really knew of.

But because the Love Club was Shiloh's literal child, she wasn't going shelf it anytime soon.

The read through truly meant that the Love Club actually had to start getting work done.

Shiloh had stacks of folders with new and previous, if you want to call, clients on the table. She'd been sitting outside getting everything she needed for herself and the club in order to have a somewhat successful read through.

She, along with the others, have been watching everyone. How they acted with others, themselves, and the environment around them. It was Shiloh's job to have someone assigned to one of the Love Club members if they felt like they needed one of them.

From afar, Ricky saw Shiloh shoving things into folders. He'd been on a mission with the other campers to impress Corbin Bleu today, but a pit stop wouldn't hurt anyone.

He made his way over to her. Her eyebrows knitted as she sighed heavily.

EJ had expressed how big this was for everyone and she couldn't mess this up.

"Look at you."

She turned, seeing Ricky. She held a small smile, "Going for a swim?"

"Everyone's meeting by the pool so we can show Mr. Bleu we mean business."

Shiloh held the stack of folders close with her hand resting on her hip, "And everyone thinks that this is a good idea? Instead of being ourselves?"

"Yeah." He smiled with a nod, "I think people are excited to have their big break."

"It's worthwhile I'll tell you that."

Ricky let his small smile drop as she turned around and basically threw the folders on the table and sat down on the bench.

Ricky took a seat beside her, "Everything okay?"

"Do you remember what I told you before we regrouped with everyone?"

"Last night? Yeah, I do."

Shiloh hadn't been too vulnerable with Ricky, ever, but something told her to at least talk to him about what she felt in that moment. It was a lot to say the least.

"I meant what I said last night."

Ricky grabbed her hand, kissing the back of it, "I know and I promise we're good. Nothing can ruin what we have, okay? Not Lily or Dylan. No one. You and I are something that I can see lasting for a very long time."

Though seeing Shiloh as upset as she was wasn't very ideal for Ricky, he was glad that she was able to feel enough comfort to talk to him about.

Ricky, in fact, was a very unbalanced person. It wasn't a bad thing. Even Shiloh was unbalanced. They work each other out, but sometimes when one opened up, the other one began to shut down. All for the sake of someone happiness.

So, fair warning, Shiloh's jealousy was just as bad as Ricky... maybe worse.

EVERYONE GATHERED in the barn and soon enough Corbin and his cameraman Channing walked inside, filming everyone in their path.

"Corbin's on the clock. It's go-time."

"Mr. Bleu, sir. We have a killer first read-through followed by our lovely Love Club planned for today." EJ smiled.

"Right."

"Okay, yeah, you make the rounds, good."

Corbin made his way over to Shiloh, who was reading over script and looking over the folders one last time.

"Keep warming up, gang. We're gonna check some sound levels." Corbin smiled, "Shannon, right?" Corbin asked.

"Not even close." Shiloh answered, "It's Shiloh. Shiloh Molina."

"It was kinda close. Anyway, I was wondering if you could show us how you do your Love Club thing?"

"We're actually gonna wait until the read-through was over to make sure what we have written down is finalized."

"Well... scrap that plan and get ready to show us." He said, patting her shoulder and walked off with Channing.

She sighed, rolling her eyes as she walked off the stage. This was not the time for her to get into her own head. This could absolutely wreck everything. She knew how these things worked. The media has twisted her words before.

"What did he want?" Madison asked.

"We're doing things a little different." She answered quickly, putting her Love Club stuff on top of the desk.

The demeanor of Shiloh had change in the matter of seconds. She'd been completely fine hours ago and now she looked like she was on the verge of popping a blood vessel or maybe on the verge of tears. Either way it's wasn't good and the club members knew that.

"We're rolling!" Channing called.

"Hi, everyone." Shiloh smiled softly, "Um, change of plans quickly. The Love Club is here for a reason and to help with anything you may need. So, I'll be letting everyone know who you're working with for the next couple of days. Who you're working with does not determine the type of person you are. We just think that you may need a little boost."

It was simple.

Ashley: Emmy, Val, Jason, and Jarred.

Madison: Jet, Carlos, Kourtney, and Will.

Evie: EJ, Victoria, Bailey, and Crash.

Jenna: Ashlyn, Maddox, Ricky, and Mackensie.

And finally, Shiloh: Gina, Alex, Lauren, Arielle, and Alyssa.

"Any questions?" Shiloh asked.

"I have several." EJ said, raising his hand.

Shiloh sucked in a breath and glanced over at Corbin who ushered her to continue.

"I have answers. That's what I'm here for."

"Why am I working with the person who teaches you how to better love your partner?"

"I have that same question." Victoria said.

Being filmed doing something she was passionate about was weird. It made her anxious and she rarely felt that way. She had her moments, but this was different and her moments didn't go by Ricky.

"We've been watching all of you as creepy and we that it's best that you talk to Evie and your partner about things you're going through. To know that you're not alone." Shiloh explained, "If you think we've made a mistake you can discuss it with after the read-through."

"Why not now?" Corbin asked, "People would love this."

"We have this thing. What happens in the Love Club stays in the Love Club. Nothing comes out once it's said. I will not change that."

"I think you should."

Shiloh turned away from him and faced the other, a somewhat fake smile on her face, "Like I said, if you think we've made a mistake, we can talk after the read-through. Which I think we should start."

Shiloh pushed her belongings into her crate and kicked over towards Ricky's seat. EJ taking her place in the front.

She sat down with a sigh and pulled her script out.

Ricky had been watching her every step.

He leaned over, whispering in her ear, "Are you okay?"

She backed slight, holding a tight-lipped smile and nodded.

It had be clear that she didn't want to discuss any of this further and he wasn't going to push it on to her.

"I'll take it from here, RJ, thank you." Corbin said, "All right! Camp Shallow Lake! I am pumped to be back for this full day of rehearsal, figured with opening night only ten days away."

Ricky scoffed, smiling, "Ten days away? That's a reason to celebrate." He stood to his feet holding his arms out, "Bring it in."

Corbin quickly shot that hug down and continued on with hug with his speech.

"Look, I understand that some of you know me as a name and not a person. Like, the Love Club girl." He pointed towards Shiloh, "But just like her, I'm a regular guy who buys his groceries at Erewhon and has a personal trainer like anybody else. All right? I'm just here to capture some behind-the-scenes footage, so think of me as a fly on the wall. Be yourselves. Let's have some fun. Yeah?"

"Yeah, baby! Let's hug it out!" Ricky cheered, Bring it in, come on."

After being shot down once more the read-through had finally began.

"Elsa?" Shiloh read.

"Anna takes a step towards Elsa." Val read from the script.

Gina sighed, "Don't come near me."

"Pause." Corbin said, walking towards the girls, "Sounds like you two really felt that moment. Let's unpack what you're channeling."

"Let me guess. Real-life relationship troubles. You both like the same person and it's causing tension." Channing said.

Gina and Shiloh glanced at each other for a slight moment before Channing panned his camera over to Carlos.

"Maybe it's this guy."

"Yes, it's me. The notorious womanizer of the group."

"Uh, Mr. Bleu, if you're looking for dirt, or like, jealous in-fighting, that's just not us." Ricky said.

"We're all good friends." Gina smiled.

"Yeah, like, really good friends. We're basically a drama-free zone."

"Great. All those Emmy-winning drama-free reality shows."

"If you wanted drama you should've been at East High last semester." Jenna laughed, "It was crazy."

Evie pinched Jenna's arm and twisted her skin to make her be quite. But if had already been said, intriguing enough to hold on to later.

"Okay. Let's just... Let's move on."

Ricky cleared his throat, "Hey, my... Ice."

"Kristoff picks up his bag of ice. Anna and Hans are oblivious."

"I'm sorry, so sorry." Shiloh read.

Then a beat of silence passed. Ricky looked at Shiloh without saying a word as she read from the script, but that wasn't why it was silent.

"Uh... That's Jet's line."

"Wait, Jet's not here." EJ said.

"Oh, God. I knew he wasn't real." Carlos quipped.

"What's the deal with Jet?" Corbin asked, "Is he troubled?"

"I wouldn't say troubled. We're slowly wearing his dark soul down."

"Jet's gonna be fine." Maddox spoke, "He's problem just doing this for attention."

EJ quickly stood to his feet, "I'm sure Jet is fine. Maddie, Val, please track him down. As for the rest of us, let's take a ten. I will be in the canteen having a cool beverage, because I am very cool. Everything is cool, Mr. Bleu."

"Is it?" Evie asked, "Your voice is cracking and you're yelling."

This was going to be a very long day for the campers at Shallow Lake and in turns they didn't know they could take.
