EIGHTEEN. silly, sad, love songs

SOON ENOUGH the Love Club had received a video file and a document with the lyrics of the song Nini and Ashlyn had come up with called You Ain't Seen Nothin' and Gina had come up with some choreography for the song at the airport.

Jenna was required to partake in the video, but the others chose to be a part of it... with special help of course.

The club couldn't leave the photo and video shoots, but Madison (Beer) could come to them.

Big Red (who was editing the video) put the five members, plus their newest celebrity friend at the end of the video and they made sure to promote East High's production of Beauty and the Beast that would later be put on the East High drama department Instagram.

Meanwhile, Ricky sighed as he sat at his piano. He had written plenty of songs for and about Shiloh, but something about this song was different.

Let You Go. He had been ignoring everyone to just let his emotions out about his break up and this was the healthiest way of doing so (Shiloh would be proud). Yes, it was a sad song and was written from Ricky's perspective and he knew that he wanted the best for Shiloh. Was she ever going to hear this song? No way. Ricky was going to let her hear this song ever.

"Close the book before it turns to tragedy. Tear the clubhouse down, give up the fantasy..." He sang softly.

He had been sitting at this piano for hours. He was only going to send the song to Big Red to get his perspective on the song. He wasn't looking for whether or not writing a song about his ex-girlfriend was a good idea or not; he just needed someone to talk to about it.

But that song never made it Big Red's way. As Ricky was recording the voice message for his red-headed friend he accidentally tapped on Shiloh's text conversation and sent the entire song and adlibs to her instead.

He began pacing around the small room. The word delivered still underneath the blue text bubble.

There was nothing he could do. He could only sit and watch until the word delivered changed into read.

He could only hope that she wouldn't text back.

SHILOH SAT in her makeshift dressing room. The hair and makeup team had left her alone not that long ago to get ready for the photoshoot.

From the corner of her eye, she saw her phone light up from the couch. She stood from her seat and sat down on the velvet material. Ricky's name flashed across her screen and as soon as she tapped it, she saw the four minute audio recording from him.

She sat there for a moment. She didn't know if she wanted to listen to it now or pretend that she never saw it. The second option couldn't work because she kept her read receipts on and so did Ricky.

She finally pressed play on the message and Ricky's voice rang throughout the room.

"Hey... um, I know that I haven't spoken to you or anyone since I've been in Chicago. I guess I understand what Shiloh was saying when she needed a "me day"."

She paused the message and stood from the couch, her phone still in her grasp. The message wasn't meant for her. She knew that now. She didn't know what to do. She could lie and say that she listened to it, but what was she supposed to tell Ricky?

She sat her phone on the vanity and pressed play again.

"I think this break up was more difficult than what I thought it would be, you know? Well, maybe you don't. Anyways, I feel awkward going to the club for help because I just broke up with the club leader and... I don't know. I feel like this song is the best way to get some feelings out. So, enjoy this song about my- Shiloh. A song about Shiloh."

She heard the keys of the piano being played and soon the lyrics began to flow.

She sat for a moment as the song died down and the message soon stopped. She stood upright and held her hands on her hips. She was contemplating. She absolutely adored the very sad song about her and she couldn't be happier that Ricky let his emotions out in this way, but she didn't know if she could text him that... let alone talk to him about it.

She only had fifteen minutes left to do anything before she would be pulled out of the room and had to take photos.

She clicked on Ricky's contact name and pressed the call button. The phone rang... and rang... and rang, but no answer.

She sighed as she heard the lengthy voicemail and when she finally heard the beep she froze for a moment. She had thought the far yet.

"I know you're at the phone, Ricky. I... enjoyed the song if it makes a difference." She chuckled softly, "Ricky, just because you and I aren't together... for the time being; you can still come to the club for advice or anything, I promise. We're still friends, you know? I hope you know that. Anyways, I hope nothing is awkward between us because you truly are one of my best friends and I hope that wouldn't change. I hope you're taking care of yourself and having fun with your mom and Todd in Chicago. I'll see you when I get back to Salt Lake. I love you."

She quickly ended the call and sighed. For a moment, she was satisfied with her message... until she realized how she ended it. She held her eyes wide and quickly picked up her phone again.

There was nothing she could do at this point. She ended the voicemail with "I love you" there was no going back. Once she ended that call, that voicemail would be already on Ricky's phone and it was his decision on whether or not to listen to it.

She threw her phone on the couch and turned as the sound of her door opening, scared her.

Ashley poked her head inside, "Hey, you're up. Ready?"

"Ashley, I think I made a mistake?"

"What do you mean?"

"I left Ricky this voicemail and I said I love you at the end."

Ashley tilted her head slightly, "But you do."

"He's not my boyfriend right now."

"You two are planning on getting back together, right? What does it matter?"

"I don't know what Ricky and I are doing. That's why we're broken up. This Lily stuff and..." Shiloh sighed.

Ashley walked further into the room and shut the door behind her.

"Why would Ricky like someone like Lily? She's been getting at you and everyone else for months. If Ricky can't see what she's doing... maybe he should be the one wearing the glasses. I don't know." Ashley paused, "What are you thinking about?"

"The truth?"

"It's preferred."

"Lily knows where to attack me. She'll dig at the club, my relationship with Ricky... whether or not I deserve any of this."

"What do you mean? Like, the magazines and stuff?"

"We're just a club, Ashley. And I'm just-"

"A person who cares. We live in this world where any little thing can cause anyone to blow up overnight. It's always been like that. People like you because you're you and you've always wanted to help people. There's no Love Club without you. We do this- any of this without you. We should be thanking you, and I'm not just speaking... out of my butt." She smiled.

Ashley watched as Shiloh proceeded to grab her phone from the couch, staring down at it.

"Do you not want to do it anymore?"

"Do what?"

"The club?"

Shiloh smiled softly, "I want to keep the club for as long as I can. I don't... want to keep thinking that Lily can take things from me."

"Then don't. It's easier said than done, but if you keep letting Lily get to you, she will eventually take things from you." Ashley smiled, grabbing her hands, "But your Shiloh freaking Molina and Madison Beer knows the Love Club. Isn't that crazy? Lily can't take away the thrill that any of this is. We're at Teen Vogue for Christ's sake... do you think Zac Efron knows who we are?"

"Who knows." Shiloh chuckled, "Thank you, Ash."

"Come on. The leading lady has an interview to attend."

Locking their arms with each other, Ashley and Shiloh left the dressing room and out towards the others.

Ashley wasn't wrong. If Shiloh let Lily dig a deeper hole into her then she would take everything Shiloh cared about.

She wasn't going to let that happen.
