Chapter 1: The Rise of the Watchers
Xelqua was a Watcher. This meant he was an all-powerful being that had reality-bending powers and the ability to create worlds with the snap of a finger and destroy it with a thought. He was one of the most powerful beings in the universe, all-knowing, all-seeing, and all respected. He hated it.
He used to love it. He was an Elder Watcher, one of the first three. After a while though, he saw how horrible it was and it made him want to stop. He couldn't though. You couldn't stop being a Watcher. Especially not him. His powers were eternal because of his stupid actions when he was younger.
The Watchers started as a group of three. Xelqua, Aurum, and Argentum, or Gem for short. A group of young foolish players with unusual abilities. Xelqua had the unique ability to fly without an Elytra and rockets, Gem had green blood that made him invulnerable to damage, but Aurum had the most impressive powers. He could see anyone, anywhere, at any time.
They lived in a time before the End, when Elytras were found in the Overworld, and when Herobrine was a threat. It was thousands of years ago, and these three young players thought they were superior because of their powers. They started pushing reality, bending and breaking what was meant to be possible, and soon they had done more than anyone had ever dreamed.
They manipulated the Enchantment Table to give them its magic instead of them using it for magic. It was brilliant. Now they had magic. Aurum and Argentum found a way to make Elytras last forever and never come off, so they too had the power of flight. There were also the potions. They found a way to absorb them so each one of them could use the potion's effect at any point. They pushed life and death so hard they inadvertently created the Wither. They could even duplicate and destroy blocks with a thought. The three players were nearly all-powerful.
But they wanted more. They wanted the power to travel between worlds, and they had found a way to do it. It was rumored that there was a third dimension, one beyond the world, that connected everything. No one could confirm this though, because no one could get there. But the Watchers were not just anyone. They were extremely powerful and extremely smart individuals.
They started to work. Xelqua came up with the idea to make a stronghold around it. They didn't want anyone finding it. They filled it with libraries filled with their knowledge, in case they never came out, rooms of treasure, and a room for the portal they would create. They protected it with a mob that Argentum created, the silverfish. It would infest blocks and attack players. Eventually, they created a portal. It took sacrifices though. A bone from Xelqua, blood from Argentum, and an Eye from Aurum. They used bedrock as their base, so once they placed the portal it would be indestructible.
After years of hard work, the time came to go through. They quickly made duplicates of the block so they could get back through. Finally, the time came to test it. They couldn't wait. They were about to enter the third dimension.
They walked through the portal and found a barren wasteland filled with something they had never seen before. Dragons. There were millions of them, flying around. The Watchers were in awe. They had done it. They had created a portal to a new dimension. They could survive the void. They were even immortal. There was almost nothing they couldn't do. The Watchers had risen.
They began to explore. They used their wings to go from island to island, flying among the huge black dragons. They discovered a fruit that could teleport them, and when mixed with end stone, created a purple block they called Purpur. As they explored they created cities that they filled with items they no longer needed. They created flying ships that they used to store elytra. They traveled millions of blocks trying to discover how to enter different worlds. Eventually, they cracked it. They figured out how to move between worlds. Now, truly nothing could stop them.
They went from world to world, Aurum sharing his powers to allow the others to see beyond them. They recruited others like them, all with extraordinary powers. Fulminare had the power to summon thunder. Bellum could control weapons.
With every world they visited, the Watchers took a new player and left a stronghold with a portal concealed within. Their numbers grew until there were too many to count. At this point they stopped recruiting and did as their name said, Watched. They lived in the End and kept it safe until one fateful day.
