Chapter 3
Alix's POV:
She did not find it in her closet, the dresser, or the car.
She checked under her mattress but only found an old store receipt.
She searched downstairs, upstairs, and everywhere else she could think to look but could not find it.
She ran outside with tears in her eyes.
"Alix," someone called her name.
She sat on the ground in shame.
She did not look up as he approached her.
"I know now, probably is not the best time."
"I noticed you were sad. Anyway, here, take it." She had something placed in her lap.
He ran off.
She looked up to thank whoever it was, but he had already gone.
She saw some nice things on her lap. Whoa, who had gone through all this trouble for her?
"Hello, is someone there?"
Alix received no answer, so she went home. It seemed the person who left these items was anonymous.
The card explains everything, right, here, see?
Dear Alix,
Happy Valentine's Day!
I tried to tell you in person,
but it did not work out.
Sorry.
I hope you like the gifts I left out of my deep affection for you.
Sincerely,
your secret admirer,
Alix blushed. "I have a secret admirer. Wow!"
She felt guilty that she should be this happy about it. After all, she still had her crush on Max.
The story continues in Chapter 4
until then, bye-bye, little owlets!
-Summer out!
