Chapter 10
Alix's secret admirer's POV:
He had forgotten to leave a note with the gifts he left for her.
He managed to sneak them inside her room while she was talking to her father.
Good thing she had not gone to her room sooner, or she would have caught him.
He noticed she wore a dress today. He admired her as she twirled around the kitchen.
He waited til her back was turned to leave. This way, she missed him sneaking out from behind the shrubs.
He recalled seeing some other young boy around here.
He admitted it troubled him.
He went home. For now, Alix was safe and that is all that mattered.
He hoped she would regain her memories soon.
He did not know how much longer he could pretend to see her as a friend when he was around her. Deep down he had known for years he liked, no correction, loved her.
He decided to give her more time. Why rush? It was not like she suspected it was him.
He wrote her a note. He decided to mail it soon.
Good thing, he had a special place he could go to think. This way, he could mail it from there and she would not notice.
He had not taken anyone there for years. Let alone a girl.
His last girlfriend had scorned him. He thought maybe Alix was different. He sure hoped so.
Dear Alix,
I know we were supposed to reveal sooner.
You lost your memory, I hear.
So, I will give you more time.
Time to think and to seek answers.
I suppose I only have a 98 percent chance anyway. Well, it is better than no chance.
I smile as I recall how lovely you were in the dress. I know your dad claims he bought it.
I also know that is not true. I bought it but chickened out of giving it to you.
Hope you enjoy the other gifts.
Sincerely,
your secret admirer,
He put the note inside an envelope, sealed it, and put a stamp on it.
He made sure to add Alix's name and address to it.
He left off the return address on purpose. I did not want her to come here to try to smoke him out. He rather her find out when he was ready.
He is not sure how serious she is about this other fellow. Well, he supposed it doesn't matter.
If we are meant to be she will be happy to find me in due time.
He drew a picture of them together. He hid it in his dresser along with the journal he kept. He made sure the drawer it was inside remained locked. No sense in risking someone else spoiling his secrets for him.
He pulled out a map. Soon, my dear, I will send this to you. He put it away.
He went back to what he was working on earlier that day. No reason to make it look like he had anything else in mind.
The story continues in Chapter 11
Until then,
bye-bye, little owlets!
Summer out!
*Author's note: Hmm, what could the map be for anyway? Goodness, this secret admirer of Alix's seems to have thought of it all. Is it possible she has two admirers or just one as she originally thought?
