Previously on Chapter 7

"You need to take it easy with all your powers. But I have to admit it was pretty cool. Shapeshifting and time control..." Mike said. I just nod my head. "I've got 2 more power" I said. "But that's for next time. You need to rest..." Will said. I just nod my head in response. Man... that was exhausting.

-Dart On The Loose-

Y/N P.O.V

I jump in fright when the box that holds Dart starts shaking. Mike quickly grabs a lamp. I move to stand up.

"Don't hurt him!" Dustin said. "Only if he attacks" he said. The box burst open and Dart rolls out. My eyes widened when I notice he's a lot bigger. It starts to screech at us.

Mike lunges forward and try to hit it, but Dart jumps off the desk. The door opens and Dart runs out. Dustin rushes forward, and bumps into Max along the way.

"Whoa! What is that thing!" She said. "Dart!" I said. "Why did you open the door!" Mike said. She just stay silent as we rush off. We have to find that thing before it starts growing again.

"The west wing is clear" I said, through my walkie. I run through the school hall. I turn around the corner and bumps into someone, causing the two of us to fall on the floor.

I turn my head to see Mike. "Sorry, bro..." I said. He just lets out a chuckle. He stands up and offers his hand to me. I place hand on top of his and he pulls me up.

We make our way to the boy's locker room. Mike turn to look at me. "Are you sure you want to go in there? This is the boy's locker room" he said. I just shrug my shoulders. "I don't care... we've something more important to worry about right now" I said. He just shrugs his shoulders and turns around.

Mike turns to me, as he leans by the wall. He jumps around the corner, startling someone. I walk up to them. Turns out it's Max.

"What are you doing here? This is the locker's room" Mike said. "Well... I'm looking for Dart. Y/N's here too!" He said. "Don't drag her into this" Mike said, in an angry tone.

"Why do you hate me so much?" She said. "I don't hate you. How can I hate you? I don't even know you" he said. "Yeah, but you don't want me in your Party" she said. "Exactly" he said. I just let out a sigh and decided to take a seat. My head still feels dizzy after showing them what I'm capable of.

I watch as Max try to convince Mike to let her in the party. How she's a zoomer and such. She starts to circle around Mike with her skateboard. I can tell that Mike is starting to get dizzy.

Max suddenly fall off her skateboard. I stare at her in confusion. That didn't look like a normal fall. I turn my head and notice someone looking through the window. A girl with short curly hair. Mike runs out and I chase after him.

He looks around the place, but didn't see anyone. I look around as well, trying to make out if I actually saw someone... or it was just my imagination. Either way... the girl looks awfully familiar.

Time-skip

The others didn't manage to find Dart either. Just as we are about to give up. We hear Will saying he have found Dart. So we quickly rush where he is, but we just find Dustin.

"Where's Dart?" I said. "He's not here" Dustin said. Mike walks forward. "What do you mean he's not here!" He said. He starts to burst through each stall but didn't find Dart.

"Maybe Will has him?" Dustin said. I froze when he said that. "Where is Will?" I said. Everyone let out a gasp. I turn around and run out of the bathroom. I'm sorry, Will... I shouldn't have left you.

I come across Joyce. I stop in front of her. "So it's true. You're really back" she said, placing both of her hands on my shoulders. I smile and nod my head. She grins and gives me a quick hug. "Hello, Joyce" I said, hugging her back.

"I'd love to catch up with you. But I need to see Will. Where is he?" she said, pulling away from me. "He's-uhh..." I stuttered. The door burst open to reveal Lucas. "At the field!" He said. We instantly run to the direction of the field.

Will is standing there. He is having a seizure. "Will? Can you hear me?" I said, cupping his cheeks. Joyce gently push me aside so she can stand in front of her son. "Will, baby?" She said. I bit my lips as I stare at Will, not knowing what to do.

He suddenly gasp as he seem to snap out of whatever he's in. But my best guess is that he went back to the Upside Down. He fall to the side. I catch him so he won't fall on the ground.

"Will... are you okay?" I said. He just nods his head weakly. I help him to stand straighter. He wraps an arm around my shoulder. We walk towards Joyce's car. I slowly help him to get in the car. But he tighten his arm around me.

"What?" I said. "Come... with me" he said, in a hush tone. But I can still hear him. He didn't want me to leave him. I turn to look at Mike. "Can you tell my mom that I'll be at Will's house?" I said. He nods his head. "Okay..." he said.

I smile at him and get inside the car with Will on the backseat. He moves to lay his head on my lap as he lay down. I place my hand on his head, caressing his hair gently. His hand holds my hand which is on his shoulder. He closes his eyes and slowly drift of to sleep.

I stare at his sleeping face as he sleeps. "I'm sorry, Will... I should have been there with you" I said, in a hush voice as I continue to caress his hair. He moves in his sleep as he tighten his grip on my hand. I just smile sadly, as I continue to play with his hair.

I have a bad feeling about this whole situation. Something's happened to Will. Something bad... if only I was there with him, I would have been able to prevent any of this from happening and Will would have been alright.

I let out a sigh as I lean my head on the window. I stare out, with my hand still caressing Will's hair. I won't let anything bad happen to him again. I'll do my best to save him... to free him from this whole mess, because I love him.
