Previously on Chapter 17

The sounds of the monster suddenly stops. "What're they doing?" Max said. It was silence for a while. The only thing I can hear is our heavy breathing. Out of no where, something fly through the window. It's the Demo-dog.

What the heck?

-Freeing Will-

Y/N P.O.V

"Is it dead?" Max said. Hopper walks towards it and poke it with his sniper. "Yeah... it's dead" he said. I furrow my eyebrow in confusion. I turn my body to face the door as it makes a sound. I watch the door lock slowly move, until the door is unlocked. Can the Demo-dog do that??

The door slowly open to reveal a pair of legs. It's a person. The person walks inside the house. Mike walks forward, with teary eyed. "El..." he said. She walks towards him too. "Mike" she said. They walk towards each other and embrace.

"I never give up on you... I called you every night. Every night for..." Mike said. "353 days... I heard" the girl said, cutting him off. "Why didn't you say anything back?" Mike said, sounding hurt. "I didn't let her..." Hopper said. Mike turns to look at him. He looks angry.

"You've been keeping her this whole time?!" He said. He push Hopper. "Hey! Easy there! I need to speak to you..." he said, dragging Mike with him. The girl looks around until her eyes landed on me.

"Six?" She said. My eyes widened in realization. "El... Eleven... Eve??" I said. She smiles and nods her head. I let out a gasp. "Oh my God..." I said. I rush towards her and pulls her into a tight hug.

"I miss you..." she said. I nod my head. "I miss you too, sis..." I said, hugging her tightly. I hear a gasp and turn my head to see Lucas and Dustin looking at us in shock.

"Sis?! You two know each other? And why did you call her Eve?" Dustin said. "Well. We both are more than just 'know' each other. We're practically sisters. We go through the same thing back then. Isn't that right, Eve? I'm so glad that you meet Mike and the other. I call her Eve... since you know El-EVE-n?" I said, with my arm around her shoulder.

"You... know Mike?" She said, looking at me with a confused face. "Mike is the cousin I've always talked about..." I said. "Oh..." she said. I let out a giggle and hugs her again.

She giggles as well as she returns the hug. "Oh my God..." Dustin said, as he and Lucas joins the hug. I let out a giggle as I stay in the hug for a couple of seconds.

We finally pull away after a while. Max walk towards Eve. "So you're El? I've heard so much about you. Hi, my name is Max" she said, offering her hand. Eve just stare at her coldly. She just walks around her. She walks towards Joyce and embrace her.

Max looks hurt by her action. At first I was confused, then realize what's actually going on. It was Eve that I saw that day at the gym. She must have seen Mike and Max.

I walk towards Max. "Sorry about Eve... she saw you with Mike. I guess, you could say she's jealous. But I am sure she'd come around..." I said, smiling at her. She smiles at me and nods.

"Now we know how to defeat the shadow monster. But we have one problem. Will is connected to that thing. Killing that monster would mean killing him too..." I said. Joyce gasp at what I said. I look down in sadness.

"Can I see him?" Eve said. I nod my head. I grab her hand and gently pull her towards Will's room. "He's asleep... his condition have been getting worse..." I said. "I know... I saw" she said. I give her a sad smile.

We enter Will's room. I walk towards him. I take a seat on the edge of the bed. I lift my hand and gently brush his hair out of his face. Eve walk towards me and gently place her hand on my shoulder.

"There has to be a way to get that thing out. If only I can just figure out what to do" I said. I hear a sound of footsteps. I turn my head to see Joyce. She takes a seat on the other side of the bed.

She turns her head to look out the window. Her eyes widened as if she just realize something. "What is it, Joyce?" I asked. "He said 'he likes it cold.' All these time we've been giving it what it wants..." she said. I realize what she meant.

"That thing got inside Will's body because it likes him... so if we want to get it out. We have to make him inhabitable" Jonathan said. I turn to look at Joyce. She nods her head in agreement. "We have to burn it out of Will" she said.

Hopper told Jonathan where to take Will. This time we'll make sure he won't know where he is. Hopper allows us to take his cabin. There will be where we'll make the Mind Flayer leave Will's body. Jonathan and Joyce will be going there. At first Nancy wants to stay behind, but she decided to go with them. I can see the love in her eyes for Jonathan. Even if she won't admit it. Lastly, Hopper and Eve will be going to the lab to close the gate.

"I'm coming with you..." I said, to Eve. Hopper walks towards me. "No, Y/N... you're going with Joyce to help her with Will. The boy needs you more than any of us. Remember you manage to get him back even if it's just for a few seconds. You'll be able to encourage him to fight back and get that thing out of him..." he said.

"I can do it, six... trust me" Eve said. I turn to look at her and nod my head. I give her a hug. "Stay safe, okay?" I said. She returns the hug. "You too..." she said. I pull away from her and walk towards Joyce's car.

Jonathan is the one driving. Nancy besides him. I sit in the back with Joyce and Will. I let Will leans his body against me, with his head on my shoulder. I gently play with his hair. Don't worry, Will... it will be over soon.
