"Daddy!!!!" The shrill came from behind me as I places my bag down beside me as I opened the door. It fell to the ground the resounding thump echoing in the entre way.

"Hey kiddo, come here!" I growled playfully as she jumped into my outstretched arms. I hugged her small body tightly in my arms.

I tickled her sides, keeping her there as she giggled squirming in my arms trying to escape my grasp. "Kyaaahahaahaha~!!!"

"Mmwhahahaha you'll never escape from me!" I mocked and evil villains voice and she squealed again.

"Mommy!!! Help me!" She yelled reaching out behind her.

I looked up to my wife who smiled leaning back against the stair rail, nibbling on her pointer finger trying not to laugh at us. She stood up straight walking towards us, I stood resting my daughter on one side wrapping an arm around my wife bringing her closer.

"Oh you want a piece of this too hmm?" I smirked raising my brows playfully at her.

"You bet I do..." she whispered seductively placing a gentle kiss on my lips.

I growled playfully at her, "So Em's tell daddy what you did today." My Wife El said, I looked down at my daughter.

"I DID A KARTWHEEL!!!" she cheered clapping her hands together excitedly.

"You did!? That's awesome champ!" I said high-fiving her.

"Her first one." El nodded proudly tucking a strand of her deep chocolate hair speckled with highlights behind her ear.

"You know what why don't we go out and celebrate? Let go get some ice cream and head to the park?!" I asked Emily.

Her small crystal blue eyes went wide with excitement, "yay! Ice cream!" She wiggled trying to get out of my arms.

I set her down and she ran out the open down into the grass jumping in circles. I chuckled watching her as she giggled singing the ice cream song.

El rested her head on my shoulder and sighed, I intertwined our fingers as we walked to Emily. "Come on Ems." I stuck out my hand and her tiny one encase the tips of my fingers.

She skipped beside us as we walked down the street to the ice cream parlor. We entered getting 3 double scooped cones and started our journey to the park.

I licked my cookies n cream cone looking down at Emily, I couldn't help but laugh. Her chocolate ice cream covered half her face, her shirt, and both hands. "Ems.... I'm pretty sure ur supposed to eat the ice cream not wear it." I laughed harder as she looked up at me confused.

El rolled her eyes as we entered the open area, taking a seat on the park bench to finish the last of the ice cream. Emily hopped up running in the grass field, "Daddy Daddy!!!! Watch this!" She yelled sticking her hands in the air.

She bent forward placing her hands on the ground pushing her feet up, curling to the side as she turned landing on a foot and knee. She jump up in the victory pose, El and I clapped, I whistled jumping to my feet rushing to her.

"Look at my little gymnist!" I cheer hoisting her up in my arms straight into the arm above my head.

"Our. I mean you didn't carry her around for 9 months" El corrected me crossing her arms.

I rolled my eyes this time setting Emily down, she narrowed her eyes at me. Tapping my leg Emily rushed off towards the playground, "Chase me! Chase me, Monster!" She screamed.

"Rawwwww!" I growled rushing after her, we ran around chasing each other.... Well me chasing her most the time. While El was the magical invisible wall that would hide her.Emily ran from El as she became a bad witch who were after the princess and knight.

I phone rang in my pocket, "Run Ems!" I yelled pulling it out checking the ID.

"Director." I answered seriously.

"Dawson."

"Sir. To what do I owe the pleasure of this call?" I asked.

There was a pause on the other end of the line, ".... I know you just returned home from your last oporation, but we need you to gather your team, and be ready at the base. You have a new assignment." He said.

I glanced at my wife as she stared at me her smile slowly shrinking. "Sir."

"Be here, 0300 hours." And with that he hung up.

I  went to contacts on my phone shaking my head as I called each of the members relaying the message I was given.

El and Emily approached me, ".... you have to go huh?" El asked as Emily yawned rubbing her eye with her balled up hand.

"........." silence hung between us, I picked up Emily as she teetered in place.

I grabbed Els hand and she squeezed mine tightly unwilling to let me go. The walk home was somber, after cleaning Ems up the best we could we put her to bed.

I said a quick prayer over her, I brushed her hair placing a tender kiss on her forehead, "I'll see you soon kiddo."

I entered our bedroom, El stood by the window staring out at the sunset. I wrapped my arms around her waist pulling her towards me. The warm sun filtered in through the open windows illuminating us as the wind blew the sweet scent of honeysuckle and hibiscus into the room.

"El..."

"Eric... do you really have to go?" She asked still staring out at the sky as the colors rippled changing. Her voice trembled, my chest tightened, I turned her to face me.

Her eyes welled with tears as she gazed into mine, "yes..." I said painfully.

The tears spilled over and down her cheeks, she rest her forehead on my chest, her nose between my pecs. She cried gripping my shirt pulling me closer to her. Her soft body melted against my hard one, filling all the missing gaps, making us whole.

We stood there in silence, taking comfort in the warmth radiating from our bodies. "When will you be back...?" Her voice came out tiny and silent.

"I'm not sure..." I answered her honestly.

She looked up at me placing a head behind my neck, we stood there just staring into each other eyes not breaking eye contact for a moment. Her crystal ones, pure enough to almost see through burned brightly of love, lust, sadness, worry.

“I love you…” she whispered yanking me down into a passionate kiss. I lifted her up taking her to our bed, setting her down not breaking our kiss. She tugged me closer desperately, lime it was the last time she was ever going to hold me.

I broke the kiss lifting her thin white shirt off, then tore mine off tossing it off some where in the room. My arms snaked across her smooth back  holding her as I rolled us over so I was on top. I straddled her; her brown highlighted hair tangled covering most of her face. I reached my hand out letting my fingertips brush slightly over her creamy skin as I moved her hair from her face.

She shivered under my touch, once the hair was cleared her face my fingers traced her lower lip. Instinctively she bit her lip, I lowered myself pressing my body to her's, feeling her soft, supple breast squash against my firm chest.

My lips hung over her teasingly, as I brushed my nose against her's. My lips skimmed over her's, my body buzzing excitedly, “I love you too…”

I captured her lips gently, enjoying her intoxicating taste. One of her hands slid down to the small of my back, while the other wrapped around my neck pulling me closer in her smoldering embrace.

I laid on my back staring at the ceiling rubbing small circles into El's bare arm. I looked over at her as she slept peacefully, my eyes soften. I leaned over kissing the top of her head, carefully I slipped from the bed getting dressed in uniform.

I opened the door, turning back, "I love you El, I'll see you later..."

"See you again..." she mumbled sadly her eyes still closed.

I quietly close the door heading out to the base.
