Epilogue

Marcy leaned back in her chair to admire the finished product of her book. It was done. She had been working on it every spare moment she had at the office and only just one minute before she had typed the final words 'The End'. It was a satisfying feeling to see that whole stack of chapter in front of her.

Sighing Marcy pulled the last sheet out of the typewriter and laid it on top of the pile, letting out a delighted squeal.

"What was that?" Britt asked, raising one eyebrow.

"You don't have a baby pig hidden under that table do you?"

Marcy rolled her eyes and spun in her chair, putting both feet up on her desk.

"Nope. Something much better...I just finished my story."

"You're kidding?" Britt said in awe, exaggerating surprise.

Marcy made a face and began straightening the stack saying, "It may not look like much to you, but it was a lot of work. You have no idea what I went through."

"Haha, I'm sure you'll tell me ALL about it once you get it published."

"Who said anything about publishing?" Marcy jumped, the thought scaring her.

"You've been working on that for a year and you're not even going to try getting it published?" Britt asked, astonished by her lack of ambition.

"It would only get sent to the rejected pile."

"Hey Lucky! Come over here, will ya?"

"What are you doing?" Marcy hissed.

"What you're too scared to do."

"I'm not scared."

"Oh really?" Britt was not convinced.

"Yeah?" Lucky asked, walking over.

Marcy gave Britt the death stare but he ignored it and folded his arms, looking up at lucky with a mischievous smile.

"Did you know that Marcy finished her book?"

"You did? Congrats. You gonna get it published?"

"Well...uh..." Marcy froze, finding herself in a difficult situation.

"She's scared," Britt answered for her.

Marcy groaned and rolled her eyes again, straightening the stack of paper once more.

"Are you kidding? Here, I'll ask Jim to read it and give you the answer," Lucky said, grabbing the stack of paper.

Marcy stood up hurriedly and replied, "Oh I couldn't ask you to do that."

"You're not. Jim is."

"What?"

"Marcy, everyone here knows about your book. Jim's been waiting till' you finished to read it."

"He has?" Marcy whispered hoarsely, sinking back into her chair.

She never dreamed that a big publisher like him would want to read a book like hers.

Lucky laughed at her reaction and walked off with the story, strait into Jim's office. Britt looked at his co-worker, chuckling at how bewildered she looked.

"Told you it would be easy...He will publish that book in no time."

Marcy laughed shakily and leaned back in her chair. Trying to process what just happened. It was all too much!

"Uh, Marcy someone's here to see you!" Tanya called from the interview room.

Getting up slowly, Marcy walked over to the door. Her thoughts still on the previous happenings she opened the door and went right in, almost collapsing in surprise at her guests.

There, in the middle of the room, stood two young adults. The girl was dressed in a long green dress, her curly brown hair half up and a golden circlet on her head. The boy was less elegant, his brown tunic torn on the side and the white shirt spotted with dirt. In between the both of them was a shredded plank where Marcy could see the faint outline of a fawn. It was the exact carving that was on the closet door.

"Chandra? Dio? What are you doing here?" Marcy asked, afraid of what the answer might be.

The two looked at each other with a worried expression and Chandra answered in an unsure voice, "The closet's on the roof and we can't get it down."
