Alana
One of the guards stumbled, and the cage that they were carrying me in went crashing to the ground down a flight of stairs.
Every part of me is crying out for justice. There was a searing pain in my head as I felt warm liquid run down my head.
"Crap! Boss is going to kill us!" They scurried over and lifted it again.
"Forget Boss. Fenris is going to kill us." Another said.
"Be careful. Don't drop it again." Another guard hissed. "Don't want to crack the encasement."
"How about not cracking me! I'm more important than this cage!" I yelled.
"Shut up, mutt. You're dying anyways." A guard jostled the encasement and I hit my head again.
I touched the side of my head and there was blood oozing out of it. From the feel of it, it's a huge gash. It must've opened up during the fall.
"We have to set her here for now until the boss needs her." They set me down in a guarded room.
"You, stand guard and make sure nothing happens." One said to the other.
I curled up in a ball, my whole body is sore and my head hurts so bad.
"Stay awake, Alana."
I sat back up and stared outside the encasement with heavily lidded eyes.
The man kneeled in front of me. "I'm sorry they're doing this to you." He took off his hood and looked at me.
He had light brown hair and amber colored eyes and a kind face he looks like a lighter version of Cain. But you can't trust all kind faces. I mean, look at Jonathan. He has a nice face, but he's a demon seed. But this guy's scent smells like one of us. He's not human...
"I understand that you don't want to talk to me. I wouldn't want to tall to me if I were in your position." He sat down in front of me criss crossed. He took a flask off of his belt and reached his hand inside to offer it. "It's water."
I crawled forward sniffing his hand and flask. "You're not human." I mumbled. "Who are you?"
"And so she talks." He chuckled. He still offered the flask and I drank from it. "I'm Ezra Chase."
I choked and spit it out all over his face. He gave me a flat look as he wiped it with the back of his gauntlet. I cleared my throat. "Are you serious?" I whispered
"Very, I'm Cain's oldest son." He grinned.
I narrowed my eyes. "I don't believe you."
"Understandable. I'm his first mate's son." He said as he adjusted to a more comfortable position.
"What happened to your mother?" I tilted my head.
"She...had other people in mind. She rejected my father and took me with her." He said and looked away from me.
"Does Cain know about you?" I asked. "No." He said shortly.
"Why not?" I sat down on my knees.
"Mother's wishes. And the fact that my father found himself another mate and had children, I thought it was better to stay away, you know, to not cause problems..." He trailed off with a sigh, but he shook the thought and grinned at me. "How did a British she wolf like yourself get entangled in all of this?"
"That's the question I have been asking myself for the longest, mate." I shook my head. "How did you get to be a hunter? Fool the lot of them?"
"It originally was to spite my stepfather, but..." He just shrugged. "I don't know never left." I gave him a strange look. "Don't worry, I don't kill, just...here..."
Then we fell silent and I felt a little dizzy, the wound hasn't healed all the way and it still is running. He saw it and tore a piece of his cloak and handed it to me I mumbled a small thanks.
"You would like your siblings. They're triplets." I said after applying pressure on the wound.
"Is that so?" He mused. I nodded and twisted my hair up out of my face because it was quite annoying. He caught a glimpse of my mark and smiled.
"Who's the lucky guy?" He placed his elbows on his knees, using his knuckles to prop up his chin.
"Your brother. You have two actually, and a sister. But my mate's name is Lukas." I grinned smiling at the thought of him. "Have you found your mate yet?"
He shook his head. "Unfortunately not...you know what, we need to hang out more. We have a lot to discuss." He said with a huge grin.
"Agreed and we need to find a way to make a family introduction for you." I clapped eagerly.
"I...don't know..." He said quietly. "What if they don't like me?"
"Poppycock!" I scoffed.
(We're close, hang tight. We're almost there.)
(Can't wait!)
I squealed, startled Ezra scooted backwards away from me holding his heart. "What the hell was that?!" He whisper yelled.
"He's coming! He's going to help get me out of here!" I clapped.
"I'm guessing that's good news." He said with a playful smile on his face.
I looked at him and rolled my eyes. Then we heard nearing footsteps and he quickly took his flask from me and returned to his post.
"Bring her. Let's get her." Another guard came in.
I was lifted up yet again and I gave Ezra a small wave and he winked back.
(How do I know them when I see them?) He linked with me.
(They all have emerald eyes and Cain has the same as you)
(Stay alive, Blue Eyes)
(That's my main objective)
I was carried into a large atrium where plenty of hooded hunters stood and in the middle was a large stone slab and off to the side seems like...Fenris... They locked him up.
He was pacing back and forth in his wolf form, clearly enraged. I was carried towards the slab and they opened the cage and slapped a silver band on me and yanked me out. I kicked and fought, but it took five men to overpower me.
I was thrown on the slab and chained to it. As much as I tried to break free, it didn't work.
X walked up chuckling sinisterly, holding a silver dagger. "Here you are! The dreaded she wolf that you all feared!" He used both hands to gesture to me.
The hooded hunters all yelled and stomped their feet, causing a great ruckus.
"Stop! This is madness! It's not going to work!" I snarled.
"It's not going to work you say?" He chuckled and raised the dagger. "We'll see about that."
On it's descent, everything seemed to move in slow motion. I could hear the cheers of the crowd, Fenris' angry howl, and then I heard Jaden.
"Mommy! Mommy!" He yelled.
My eyes found him and he was being held by my parents. All I could see was the same fear that I wore fourteen years ago. The same look when I saw my mother dying.
He can't witness my same past. No...
"No! No! NO!" I screamed. The whole room rumbled, from top to bottom. Everyone in the room lost their balance and stumbled around to regain it. X dropped the dagger and I pulled at the chains that bound my arms, I cracked the slab underneath my back and yanked one arm free, followed by the other.
Fenris' cage dropped, unleashing the wrath a livid demon. I pried the chains off of my legs until X held me back down.
"You're not getting away that easy, child." He sneered as he raised the dagger again.
In a swift blur of black, X disappeared. I looked around to find his neck in between the teeth of Fenris. He shook him like a ragdoll until the unmistakable sound of a bone cracked.
Loosening myself from my remaining chains, I hopped off of the broken slab and took off at a sprint to look for Jaden.
I'll handle Fenris later. That baby needs to get out of here...
"Jaden!" I yelled. "Mommy!" I heard him.
I turned around to find him standing amidst all the chaos, with an arrow pointed at his head. I looked at the culprit to see not one but both parents.
"What are you doing!" I yelled.
"Stop this, Alana!" My "mum" yelled.
"You and your kind are always in the midst of things! You all need to end!" "Dad" yelled.
I continued to edge forward. "Move that arrow and this all will end and you'll hear no more of us." I kept eye contact.
They scoffed. "Think we haven't heard that before?! The only reason why we kept you was because of a cover. Save one, save yourself." Mum chuckled.
"Collateral damage." Dad smirked.
I fought back the tears that threatened to well up in my eyes. All this time they've been using me as a cover. A cover to kill...
"Say goodbye to this runt." Dad smirked.
I don't know what came over me and as soon as that bow was raised, something clicked. I saw my sweet little prey...delicious little morsels.
I ran forward. I sunk my teeth into the neck of the first and bit down hard. It started to kick and scream and I bit down harder and tore off a piece of their neck.
I turned towards the other. It backed away out of fear. Stumbling. The scent of blood and fear mingled in the air and it made my hunt more fun.
Seems like my prey wants to play...
I stalked forward, licking my fangs as I did so. The little human started to run and I pounced, clawing at its chest, sinking my claws and feet into any available flesh.
"No one hurts pup!" I yelled.
"ALANA!"
