I sat reclined in the passenger seat biting a piece of my hot wing and using my free hand to tap my finger to the beat of the music.

We just finished watching a scary movie at one of those discount theaters in Altamonte. Alana still shook her head as though the thought of the movie still bothered her.

"You still upset?" I chuckled as I sat up placing a now clean bone back into the box.

She glanced at me then looked back at the road. "Of course I am! That movie was, was not scary. It was dumb. Kids lack common sense. I mean who talks to a clown in a sewer?" She shook her head. "Call the bobbies! There's a freakin' clown in the sewers harassing me!" She made a fake distressed yell.

I laughed and shook my head. "True he should've left the clown alone." I nodded in agreement and took a sip of my drink.

I raised my eyebrows surprise. This tasted better than I thought!
"Lana, have you tried this peach flavored Sprite? It's freakin' delicious." I sipped some more before placing it back into the cup holder.

Without taking her eyes off the road, she reached for my drink and I looked at her in disbelief as she drank more than what was necessary.

"Now I have. And that is delicious. Thanks for letting me try it." She smirked as she placed it back into the cup holder.

I glowered at her and took my cup out if her reach and shook the cup and it sounded mostly like ice. I sucked my teeth. "Are you kidding me?! Ice?" I laughed in disbelief.

She only giggled and flashed me a cheeky wink.

"You're lucky that you're cute." I muttered darkly.

She only shrugged and grinned.
"Then lets get you a new drink. There's plenty of those Coca-Cola machines. I think they have one in Wawa." She smiled at me.

"I didn't want a new drink. I wanted my drink." I mumbled.

"So no drink? Wanna thirst?" I glanced at me with one raised eyebrow.

I instantly caved in. There was no way I would say no to a new drink being that I am rather parched.
"Fine. Lets stop at WaWa and get a drink." I huffed.

She nodded and drove towards the nearest WaWa. She parked in the space closest to the door and we both got out.

We walked in eyes fell upon us, some mixed with curiosity and others with an emotion that I couldn't quite read.

We casually walked over towards the soda machine. I still felt eyes on us and they mostly fell on Alana especially by the males. I hate that they give her this unwanted attention.

Instinctively, I snaked my arm around her waist and pulled her closer. She looked up at me and let out a sigh and shook her head grinning. "Possessive much?" She mumbled.

"Not possessive. Protective, doll. There's a difference you know." I grinned.

She sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes. "Oh please." She huffed as she put a lid on the cup.

I laughed and stepped back so she could walk away towards the counter. "There is a difference, Lan." I walked after her.

"Not really, Luke." She said over her shoulder as she placed both drinks on the counter to pay for them. I took out my wallet instead and paid for them.

"It really is, Lana." I said as I picked up my drink and she picked up hers. We walked to the door when a very familiar looking man with jet black hair held the door for us.

"Thank you, sir." Alana said politely and I gave him a nod.

I turned back around to get a good look of his face, but he already walked in. Hm...

"Did he look familiar to you?" I asked.

"Who?" She asked as she neared the driver's side.

"That man. He looked familiar." I said waiting at the passenger door.

"No. Not at all, why?" She asked before she unlocked the car and got in.

"I don't know. Just seems like I've seen him somewhere you know." I shrugged as I sat in the passenger seat, buckling up.

"Maybe you have. Maybe you haven't. Who knows." She said in this mystical voice waving her hand in my face.

I backed my face up. "Keep those paws of doom away from me, I like my face." I looked at her cautiously.

She laughed. "That's funny because I like your face too." She smiled at me.

I blushed and shook my head. "H-hey. Watch it. I make you blush. Not the other way around." I smiled jokingly.

"But you're so cute when you blush." She teased.

"Ha! She called us cute, Luke! This is momentous!" Ryker said excitedly, his tail wagging.

Calm down buddy, geez.

"Shut up, you or else." I warned looking at her.

She leaned on the arm rest to look at me. "Or else what? What are you going to do, mate?" She said in a sing song voice while methodically moving her head from side to side with a grin on her face.

"I'll make you stop." I gave her a serious look.

"And how are you going to do that,  praytell? Because I'm still talking and talking and you know once you get me started I go down this rabbit trail of words and I go into this infinite loop that I can't manage to get myself out o-"

Then my lips crashed into hers. She sat there unable to move from shock. She eventually gave into the kiss and I pulled back, breathless to see her flustered expression and flushed cheeks.

I gave her a satisfactory smile." And that's how you get an Alana to stop talking." I chuckled.

She only giggled and hid her face with her hair and started up the car. She looked at ne and burst into a fit of giggles again.
"I can't stand you." She said with a smile.

I chuckled at took a sip out of my drink and shook the cup... wait... It's half empty! I shot a an angry look. She met my gaze and laughed. "Here take it and be happy." She handed me her cup.

I took it and sipped it while watching her carefully. She rolled her eyes at me and drove away down the road.

My phone buzzed and I looked at the text message.

It's finished. All set and ready to go.

I smiled at my phone and put it away in the cubby hold. She looked at my phone then back at me with a curious smile. "Do I wanna know?" She asked.

"Yes, cuz you're gonna know as soon as we get home. It's a surprise." I grinned.

She squealed excitedly. "I love surprises!"

I find this chapter cute. Cute... thing that's the best word to describe it. Their bond is slowly getting stronger..AND HE KNOWS THAT THEY'RE MATES AND SHE HASN'T QUITE CAUGHT ON YET (cuz you know she has been semi-humanized) BUT I CAN SEE THIS GOING SOMEWHERE! SO MANY IDEAS! *returns to calm demeanor*
