Lukas

I walked into the school with my siblings and found Alana standing in front of her locker. She wasn't even moving... looks like she's lost in thought...again.

"Good morning, Lana." I said slowly stepping behind her, careful not to startle her again.

She turned around and gave me a weak smile and closed her locker. "Hello, Lukas." She put some books into her book bag. She looked as though she didn't get any sleep and she slouched on the locker.

"Girl, what's up with you? You look tired." Aali stood next to her.

"I... had a very, very  long night." She mumbled pulling her hair behind her ear and heaving her bookbag over her shoulder.

"What did you do?" Mark asked.

"I... well...um..."She started then a locker slammed behind her and she jumped away. It was Jonathan she slowly backed away from him, heart racing. "Guys I'll catch you in class. I gotta go find my... brother..." She said walking away briskly without looking back. Then we all looked at Jonathan who was looking at her with an evil leer as she walked away.

I growled and turned to him. "What did you do to her?" I grabbed him by the collar, lifting him up off of the ground.

He laughed and patted me on the arm. "I have done nothing to her. She just seems a little jumpy, don't you think?" He smiled pleasantly at me.

I tightened around his neck and I just glared at him. And he just smiled at me with indifferent smile as his face began turning red, but he held his composure. "Luke, let him go. Don't do it. He's not worth it...yet." Aali tugged me on my shirt. Every part of me wanted to squeeze his neck until every vessel in his face burst and his eyes popped out of his socket.

"Yea... Luke... I'm not worth it." He smirked with a raspy breath. I let him drop to the ground and turned away.

"You better watch that attitude. Don't want to end up like your mother." He said with a sneer. I turned around to at least land one blow to his face, but Mark held me back, and I fought against him hard.

"LUKE! CALM YOURSELF DOWN!" He shook me.

I stopped and caught my breath and stared wildly at him. Every ounce of me wanted to throw Mark out of the way and barrel into him.

"Luke...Look at me. Don't let him get to you. That's what he wants." Aali looked me in the eyes.

"He... I'mma.... OOOOOOOOOOO!" I groaned slamming my fist into my other hand.

"I want to do the same thing, but do you see me wanting to deck the little son of a b-"

"Beach ball."Mark interjected.

"Bastard... I was going to say bastard."She looked at him, shaking her head.

"That's still not any better." Mark crossed his arms.

"And since when did you become the Language Police?" She flicked his arm.

"Since now." He said. Then they got into this dumb back and forth argument over past uses of words that were deemed bad by Mark.

"Okay you two stooges. Let's get to class." I said quickly, as the bell rang.

Time Skip

We walked into the lunchroom and I scanned the room, looking for her. Sigh where are you...

"You're looking for her aren't you?" Mark walked beside me as he carried his lunch tray. I ignored him and continued looking for her.

"I...just want to come home, Roxas... It's already...ugh..." I could hear her voice she sounded as though she was almost about to cry.  "No, I don't need you to move here...yet.....I'll be okay for now, I guess," she sighed," talk to you later. Love you too. Bye."

We all sat down at the table with her. She had her head down and I sat next to her and Mark and Aali sat across from us. "Hey, Lana. How goes?" Mark was the first to speak.

"I'm fine." She sniffled and readjusted her position to a more comfortable one with her face still hidden from view.

"Come on, baby girl. You don't sound like it." Aali said after swallowing a fry.

Alana only shrugged and continued not so show her face.  She remained quieter than her usual quiet self.

"Alana, at least show your face." Aali pleaded with her.

Alana only lifted her head a little only to show her eyes. Her nose and mouth was covered by her barricade of arms. Her eyes were a shade of sad blue and a fresh tear rolled off of her face and dried up in the fabric of her sweater.

"You're crying. What's wrong?" Mark asked.

She didn't answer for a while. "I'm... just upset and frustrated and confused all at once." She sniffled and wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.

"About what?" Aali asked.

"I don't want to talk about that part...yet.. I still need time." She repositioned herself to where her face was sideways looking at all of us.

"Well, whatever it is, you don't need to cry. I will help you through it."  I wiped a tear with my thumb placed my other hand on hers and  which made me feel all tingly and warm all over when I came in contact with her. She gave a small smile and didn't reject my hand, surprisingly.

Mark and Aali cleared their throats and Alana quickly moved her hand and sat up wiping her eyes.

"What my dope of a brother meant to say was.... We are here for you too. We gots your back." Aali smiled at her.

"Yea, babydoll. Mark will take care of you and protect you from those other big bad wolves." He flexed his muscles at her and gave a sly wink.

She giggled and shook her head at him. "Thank you for that...um... Mark... But you two.... thanks! Thanks a bunch!" She smiled broadly, totally dissing Mark's comment. Aali and I laughed while Mark frowned. "I'm only joking Mark. Thank you, too." She grinned happily.

Guys I'm dying from this lack of action but I think I have an idea of what to write next. But I think you'll love it because I know I will.
