A/N: Sapphire on the media

I woke up due to the warm sunlight hitting my eyes, the birds chirping and the rustling of the tree leaves. It seems that I'm in a forest but that's impossible right? I'm only dreaming about these things.

But who am I kidding? I woke up with a blank look on my face. This is not a dream. I sighed and walked outside the cave and then this little thing followed me as soon as I stood up. I saw him outside by the lake. I just noticed that there's a lake near here. I couldn't see well last night and besides, I was too tired to even observe my surroundings.

I stretched out my arms and heard my bones cracked. Ah, that felt good. I wasn't able to sleep in a nice comfy bed after all. I've been thinking about mom and Hazel too. For sure, they're worried sick about me right now since I wasn't able to return home yesterday.

I walked towards the lake since that strange guy is sitting near it. I'm gonna talk about this with him and maybe ask him if I could go back? I hope he'd let me although I doubt it with his attitude. I sighed.

"Uhm," I began to say.

"What?" He muttered with a cold voice still looking at the lake.

"Is it really impossible for me to go home? I mean I have my mom and my best friend who might be worrying about me thi--" He cut me off.

"No" As expected. My mood fell. I wasn't even able to say goodbye to mom and Hazel. I wonder how happy Hazel would be if she would see this thing. She was looking forward to it and her excitement might even go over the roof if she learns about all the things I've heard yesterday. My eyes started to well up. Gosh... I miss her.

The fae pet suddenly sat on my shoulder and rubbed its cheek against mine as if it was trying to comfort me. I wanna blame everything to this little thing, yet at the same time, I couldn't help but fall for its charm. Why is it so cute and affectionate? Geez, I couldn't even begin to hate it. 

"The time spent here and in the mortal world is different," He suddenly continued. Wait, what did he just say?

"What-- I mean how different? like is it slower in there or faster?" I abruptly asked, understanding maybe that's what he meant about that.

"It's slower. You were probably gone there for at least a minute," Whaatt? My eyes grew wider than a saucer that all the tears welling up dried out. Why didn't he tell me about this earlier? I was here for a whole night anxious about how they're looking for me right now, but they weren't even aware that I was gone. I let out a sigh. Maybe this is for the better. At least I won't have worry about it that much.

"Ohh, I see... t-that's good to hear," I sat by his side, but not too close. I don't want to be near him anyway. I glanced at him who's staring at the lake while feeding his fae pet something. Right, I guess you are supposed to feed them something. Why haven't I thought of it?

"What's that?" I asked then he just handed me a pouch.

"Don't feed it a lot." He simply stated. Psh he didn't even answer my question. I opened it and it was full of those red round thing he's been giving to Sapphire.

"Those are pomple berries. We love it!" Sapphire muttered as she ate another one. I smiled at her, I'm glad she doesn't have the same attitude as her master. My fae pet got off my shoulder and flew towards the pouch I'm holding. I chuckled. I guess it made her hungry.

"Want some?" I asked her.

'Yep!' It answered through my mind. 

'Alright but not too much okay? That jerk said not to feed you a lot,' I told her.

'Ehh..'

'Although he's a jerk he knows better so we have to follow him,' I told her in my mind. I don't want to talk out loud so I can insult him all I want bwahaha.

She pouted. 'Okay...'

I handed her one to eat and she excitedly grabbed it. Moments after, she's already munching her third pomple berry in delight. I smiled while looking at her enjoying the food. I need to stop after the fifth one. 

'Is it delicious?' I asked through my mind then she nodded happily.

My stomach started growling and I realized I haven't eaten anything since yesterday. Out of hunger and curiosity, I grabbed one piece of pomple berry to try for myself. I was about to eat it when my hand felt a stinging pain and the pomple berry rolled on the grass. This jerk suddenly slapped my hand!

"Oww! What's your problem?!" I glared at him. 

"That food is specially made for fae pets. It's not something you can eat, stupid." He scolded. I felt embarrassed yet at the same time I'm so annoyed because he called me stupid again! I swear he must be purposely missing out on telling me important stuff to insult me! I tried to calm myself down.

"How should I know? You didn't have to slap me that hard! It hurts..." I glared at him rubbing my stinging red hand.

He stared at me for a while then he stood up. "Where are you going?" I asked. Won't he even apologize? 

"Wait here." He just said then left. What the?! After all that he did, he's going to leave me behind? What if someone attacks me all of a sudden. I swear if I'll die I'll hunt him forever! As I was cursing him in my mind, he came back after a minute. Hm, that was fast.

"Where did you go?" I asked. I noticed that he brought some things with him. 

"Here," He said, handing me a bunch of different fruits. Did he just leave to get me all of these? I looked at him in disbelief. That's weirdly nice of him.

He then kneeled in front of me and grabbed my stinging hand which caught me by surprise. He pulled out some leaves from his side leather bag and placed it on the back side of my palm and tied it with a strip of cloth. "That should deal with the pain," He said with a plain expression.

I tried to avoid his gaze. "Uhh- thanks," I replied. I'm still mad at him though. After all, he caused this in the first place.

He sat a bit further beside me and I began eating the fruits he gave. This is a lot. I won't be able to finish this in one sitting. That's what I thought at first, but these fruits are so delicious and easy to eat that I didn't even realize there's only a little left. Am I this hungry? I can't believe I just ate like a pig. I glanced sideways and I almost choke on my food when I realized he was staring at me eating.

"What are you staring at?" I asked him.

"You eat like wild boar," He replied with a blank expression.

I can feel my face heating up. W-what did he just say? I know it's true, but he didn't have to say that! Grrr... I was about to say something in reply, but he suddenly stood up.

"Are you done? We need to go." He simply stated. I glared at him . I want to insult him as well, but he might end up killing me so I tried my best to remain silent and just nod.  

He started walking so I got up and my fae pet climbed on top of my head. I followed right behind him, still fuming in anger. As I was walking, my fae pet suddenly fell from my head. Good thing I was able to quickly catch her. I immediately got worried that something might be wrong, but she was only sound asleep. I sighed. I swear this thing only knows how to sleep. Is it because it's still a baby? I patted her head and let her sleep comfortably in my hands. I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to name her.

Hmm... what should I call you? The image of those green emerald eyes that stared at me when I first saw her suddenly flashed through my mind. I got an idea! I wouldn't name you Emerald though because that would be too obvious. Hmm... How about Myrtle? I nodded to myself. Good, that's it!

'Okay. From now on, I'll call you Myrtle.' I proudly thought to myself. My fae pet suddenly glowed bright that I had to close my eyes due to the blinding light. W-what's happening?
