On spur of moment, the guy was right close to me in a fighting stance. Ready anytime those dark shadow creatures will come to attack.

Suddenly, I heard a strange voice talking in my mind. 'Master' wait... master? Is this fae pet the one talking to me? using my mind?

'Is it you who talked to me just now?' I replied in my mind as my gaze drifted to her, floating beside me.

It nodded and began talking again 'Yes since we have the ability to talk to our masters using our minds'

'Ohh.. so we can do telepathy, huh. That's cool,'

"Stay close to me," He muttered. I almost forgot we are under attack.

"What should I do?" I asked him.

"Just don't move," He instructed. The dark shadows stopped moving, but I don't feel like they're gone just yet. After a couple of seconds, several dark shadows came to attack us from every direction.

I closed my eyes and didn't move as he instructed. I heard some clashing sounds so I opened my eyes a bit and the guy was fighting all those dark shadows. He was so fast that I couldn't even keep track of him. He's like a lightning. I can't help but be amazed. He looked at my direction and a ball of light began to form in his hand. He threw it in my direction and I shriek in surprise. The ball of light hit a dark shadow who was about to attack me from behind. My heart pounded so fast. For a second there, I thought he was going to hit me!

Moments after, all the dark shadows disappeared and the forest felt peaceful once again. What the hell were those things? Why were they attacking us? The fae pet beside me flew right back again in my hands.

"Are you hurt?" He asked. He surprisingly looked concerned.

"No, I'm fine. T-thanks," I anxiously replied.

"No need to thank me. I'm just doing my work," He replied, coldly. Yeah right, what did I expect?

"What exactly is your work? And what were those creatures," I asked him. I still don't get why he needed to bring me here.

He looked at me with a blank face, "They are called dark enigmas. They were most probably ordered to kill you along with the legendary fae pet," He answered looking at the creature in my hand who's peacefully sleeping. The legendary fae pet? Seems like this thing is giving me more and more trouble. I don't feel like I can keep up with this.

"So... it's all about this thing right? If I give this to you. Can I return to my world?" I asked. I can't possibly stay here. My mom should be worried sick by now. Plus this world also seems so dangerous.

"Do you realize now how stupid you are? I did warn you," He coldly stated. Well, I didn't really understand anything. How am I supposed to know! He looked at the fae pet beside him, "You explain." He instructed, then continued walking. Guess he doesn't even wanna bother explaining things to me tss.

His fae pet flew towards me and I also started walking following behind his tracks. "Please forgive my master, he's usually kind," She whispered. Kind you say? I can't even begin to l imagine it.

"I'm called Sapphire. What's your name?" She began. Oh, I guess you're supposed to name fae pets huh...

"I'm Dewelet," I replied. I looked at her closely. She has long dark hair with ocean blue eyes, wearing an ombre purple dress. She has a purple scarf wrapped around her neck and a violet flower pinned on the right side of her hair. She's also holding a dark violet staff similar to my fae pet. I wonder why that guy didn't name her Violet. I chuckled at the thought.

"Well then, Dewelet. Welcome to Mavisland," She greeted, raising both her arms as she flew around me. Good thing his fae pet is unlike him, who is cold and merciless.

"So this world is called Mavisland huh... What exactly are you? And this legendary fae pet he mentioned earlier," I asked.

"You see, master and I was on a mission to find the legendary fae pet because we need its power for something terrible that might happen in the future." She said.

"Something terrible?" I asked.

"Yes, but I'm not allowed to explain that to you in further detail," She added. "Anyways, my master is the only faerie most capable of utilizing the power of the legendary fae pet to its full potential so he was given this important task." She continued. Hmm.. I hate to admit but he seemed kinda amazing.

"The moment we learned that the legendary fae pet egg has already appeared. We've searched the entire Mavisland, yet little did we know that it was in the human world. No wonder it was out of sight, but I guess we were too late when we realized it," She said, looking a bit disappointed. Now I felt kind of guilty as if it's my fault they weren't able to accomplish their mission. I mean they looked like bad guys at first so they can't really blame me... I guess?

"I'm sorry about that," I murmured.

"The reason we had to bring you with us is that the legendary fae pet has already imprinted on you. We fae pets follow no one other than our masters," She explained. I see, so since they needed the power of the legendary fae pet, they had to bring me along with them since I'm now its master? I felt like I'm the one who brought this all upon myself. I just realized I had the chance to escape this fate back then. Ugh, I'm indeed stupid.

"What exactly are fae pets? Are they like pets for faeries?" I asked. Sapphire looked at me then laughed.

"No silly. We are the reasons why faeries can use abilities and vice versa," I stared at Sapphire confused. This is a lot to take in, it's really different than all the other fantasy books I've read.

"If that's so then isn't there a mistake? How is it possible for me. I'm not a faerie. I don't have any abilities," I told her.

"That's maybe what you've thought all this time, but there are some rare cases where mortals also possess some mana although it's a tiny bit compared to a faerie. But you... you might be the most unique case since you were able to attract the legendary fae pet. This has never happened before. Maybe you have an abundant mana pool dormant within you," She said. My mind feels like it's spinning. I still cannot believe all of these. Could it possibly be true? Am I really someone special?

"Let's stay in here for the night," He butted in. I didn't even notice how long we've been walking. I was so engulfed with the conversation I was having with Sapphire.

We stopped by a small dark cave covered in little vines. Are we seriously staying in here? It looks so scary. He entered the cave and I followed closely behind him because I'm kind of scared of the dark. A lot of things suddenly flew above our heads and I shriek in surprise.

"Don't worry, those are just wild bats," He said. Wild bats?! Doesn't that mean they can be harmful?

'Don't worry master, I'm also here to protect you,' I looked at the fae pet in my hands. Looks like she's awake now. I patted her head and smiled, 'Thank you,' I told her. She looks so cute saying it when she's just like a baby.

"Is it really safe here?" I asked him.

"It is. But if you want to sleep outside and feel the cold breeze under a starry night. I won't stop you," He said and sat down. Wait, that was actually a good idea. Should I do it? Nah, nevermind. I'm more scared that those dark shadows would appear again.

I sat across him and curled up like a ball. It's so cold. He motioned his hand in a circle then an orb of warm white light appeared then floated in between us which lit up the place. I don't feel as cold as anymore. I wonder what else can he do with his power.

My eyes felt heavy, but I couldn't fall asleep because of my uncomfortable position. I looked at him and his eyes are still wide awake, looking outside the cave. "Aren't you sleeping?" I asked him.

He just shook his head not and didn't even bother to look at me tss. I guess he needed to stay alert in case those dark shadows will come and attack again. After a couple of minutes, my eyes became heavier and I felt myself slowly drifting to sleep. Before I blacked out, I felt someone sat beside me and my head leaned unto something. I don't know what this is, but I smiled as I felt more comfortable.

I hope I'll wake up tomorrow, realizing everything that had happened is just another strange dream.

A/N: I've read some comments saying it reminded them of winx club, but believe me or not I haven't really watched it hahah (maybe sometimes when it's showed on tv). This is more inspired by Yumeiro Patissiere or Shugo Chara if ever you've watched that anime :D
