I'm out here in the balcony of my room overlooking the beautiful scenery outside this palace. I wonder how many days has it been since I've arrived in this world. For sure it hasn't been a week, but it feels so long. I miss mom and Hazel so much... I guess they haven't even realized that I'm gone. I let out a deep sigh.

'Don't be sad Dew... it makes me a bit sad too,' Myrtle suddenly said through my mind, trying to comfort me.

I looked at her who is sitting on my shoulder a bit teary-eyed. I transferred her to my hand then patted her little head with my two fingers. "I'm fine. I just miss my family," I told her.

'Dew's family?' she asked her eyes glistened with interest. 'I'd like to meet them!' Myrtle said brightly.

"Sure! When we go back to my world. There's also someone excited to meet you since you were an egg." I chuckled remembering Hazel.

I looked at Myrtle in a serious manner. "So Myrtle... I'd hope you'd lend me your power throughout my stay here. Until the day will come when I can finally go home..."

'Of course! Myrtle is here to help and protect master at all cost,' she replied and I smiled. "Thank you although I don't really think I'm worth it..." I honestly told her.

'What is Dew saying? Myrtle's master is amazing!' she replied brightly. I don't know if she's simply bluffing or that's her way of comforting me.

I chuckled. "I am not. Myrtle is the amazing one. It is you they need after all. I'm just your master, but I don't think I can do anything spectacular. I'm just a mere human being you know. I can't possibly be as good as a faerie." I told her and she shook her head in disagreement.

'That's not true! Myrtle can feel it... Dew is the master that Myrtle needs.' She held my finger with those tiny hands of hers as she looked at me intently in the eyes.

I chuckled in response. "Stop kidding me," I told her as I turned around and walk back inside the room. Myrtle flew as she followed behind me.

'Myrtle is not joking.' She pouted and I sat on my bed. I just laughed at her lightly. "Yeah right,"

We heard a sudden knock on the door. It's probably the head maid. "Come in," I loudly said so she could hear from the distance.

We waited for a while, but the door did not open. Instead, there was another knock. Is it not the head maid? Usually, she would just go in after I permit her to do so. Who could this be?

I grumpily stood from the bed and opened the door. To my surprise, it was the jerk. Hah! I must be seeing things. I immediately closed the door then I heard someone muttered from outside, "What the hell?" Oops. I guess that was really him.

I opened the door again and was met by his deadly glare. Hmph! You think I'm still scared of that? The queen just instructed you to protect me so I bet you can't do anything to hurt me now bwahaha.

"What is your problem?" he asked, anger evident in his tone but I didn't care.

I bravely shot him a glare. "What are you doing here?" I answered him with another question.

He looks more annoyed. Well, that's something more amusing to see rather than his plain blank expression.

He took a deep breath as if trying to calm himself. "Mother calls for your presence," He answered. Eh? It hasn't been that long since Queen Lorraine discussed some matters with me. Was there something she forgot to tell?

"Is that all? The head maid could have told me then. Why'd you come here?" I asked since this is something he'd unlikely do.

"Mother ordered me to personally get you." He said his face painted with disdain. Of course, it would only be for that reason. He clearly does not like this task.

He began walking without uttering a word so I just stayed in my place. Doesn't he know it's so disrespectful to leave someone just like that? I won't have it his way again.

"If you'll not follow. I'm leaving you behind." He warned not even looking back. Hmm.. looks like he felt it right away that there were no footsteps behind him.

"Then leave," I simply told him. It's his task anyways. Besides, I'd rather have the head maid guide me to the queen's office.

I thought he'd leave right away, but he was just standing still. He suddenly turned around and walked back to me with heavy footsteps which made me lean back a bit and gulped.

"You're driving me mad." He muttered as he grabbed my hand and pulled me with him. Looks like I made him really angry.

He is walking too fast and he's grabbing my hand harshly so it hurts a bit. "Alright, I'll follow you. Let me go already." I said as I tried to pull away from his grip, but he's not letting it go.

'Dew is hurt,' I heard Myrtle said in my mind then she flew past him and blocked his way, glaring at him.

'Let go of her!' I heard her say in my mind, but that jerk couldn't even hear it because Myrtle can't speak out loud yet.

However, he slowly let go of my hand as if understanding what she meant to say. I touched my hand which showed some pinkish marks caused by his grip. Myrtle then flew towards my hand touching it with her tiny hands as she glared at Hiro.

'Thanks,' I said to her through my mind feeling touched by her concern as I also glared at that jerk. Geez! I can't believe he's also this impatient.

"J-just follow me," was the only words he said as he started walking again. Tss... he didn't even apologize. I just obediently followed even if I didn't want to.

We went downstairs then walk for a while making a few turns on the way then we went outside. Ugh, my ankles hurt a lot. I'm fine living in a small house rather than in a palace if it takes to walk about a kilometer just to travel to another room.

I wonder where we're going. For sure it's not towards the queen's office because this is a different path from when the butler guided me. My eyes glistened as an image of a garden started to come into view. Wow.. so there's also this part here in the palace.

We passed by a tunnel made of leaves and beautiful pink flowers. There's also a water passageway in the center with luminescent fishes swimming around in different colors so we're passing by the side. My jaw dropped in awe. I've never seen anything like this.

When we got closer to the end of the tunnel, a white pavilion came to view which was surrounded by different kinds of exquisite flowers. It reminded me of that secret garden, but this feels even more magical and enchanting. Well, of course, this is a real magical world.

I noticed that some shimmering lights were floating around that was clear to see even in daylight. "I wonder what are these.." I thought to myself out loud as I try to touch some of it with my hand, but it just went through.

"Those are Laxies. They keep out unwanted bugs and make the plants healthy. They practically help in maintaining the garden." Sapphire replied to me. She's truly more kind and reliable compared to her master.

We went up to the pavilion and I saw Queen Lorraine sitting in front of a circular marble table at the center as she elegantly took a sip from her teacup. She looked up as soon as she noticed us then smiled. "Come and join me for a late afternoon tea." She greeted.

I bowed slightly in respect and smiled as I awkwardly sat on one of the available seats. And since it's a circular table, that jerk and I are not that close to each other which is a good thing.

"I apologize for the sudden meeting when we just discussed some matters this morning," the queen started.

"Oh, it's alright," I told her. A servant standing beside the queen poured me some tea. I'm not fond of teas, but it'd be bad manners if I'll not at least take a sip.

"I've already successfully enrolled you to Adelaide Academy," the queen smiled. Wow, that was fast. I took a sip from my tea and to my surprise, it was good and calming. I never knew teas could taste like this.

"The head of the academy knows full well about this matter, but we decided to keep it hidden from the students and faculty so that you won't have to learn under pressure." The queen said. Aww, that was kinda thoughtful of them.

"It is also important to keep your human identity hidden." Queen Lorraine handed me out something. It was a simple thin hair clip with tiny crystal beads shaped like a butterfly.

"This is a magical item that changes one's appearance however they like. This can only do a single look so try to imagine you're just one of us." The queen explained. I stared at it in awe before I accepted it.

"Try it," she urged. I reluctantly closed my eyes and imagined having long pointed ears. Well, that's the only distinct characteristic I can think of that will make me look like them. Oh yeah, and some hair highlights. I chuckled inside.

I slowly opened my eyes when I felt like it was finished. "Try to wear it," the queen instructed.

I timidly clipped it on my hair and began to feel that there were indeed some changes in my body. I saw the queen's eyes widened in shock then she laughed lightly afterward. Ehh I wonder if I did it wrong?

"I didn't mean that you should exactly look like us though," she said and I began to panic about what she meant. She showed me a hand mirror and I gasped when I saw my reflection in it. Holy mother of cows! I didn't realize I unconsciously imagined having purple eyes. I even retained my dark hair, but with some silver highlights. Now I looked like that jerk's freaking twin! No wayyy!

"Oh no. I didn't mean to look this way. I-Is there any way I can undo this?" I asked hoping there is.

"Unfortunately not. As I've said a while ago, you can only do a single look with it. However, it will only take effect once you'll wear that hair clip so you can always go back to how you originally look. Just don't forget to wear it when needed." The queen answered. Ugh, I wanna cry. I don't think I'd like to wear this hairclip anymore, but I know I'd need to. I took a sip from my tea to help myself calm down.

"Besides, I think it's not that bad. That look might even be better as I'm planning to introduce you as my niece for the upcoming royal ball tomorrow night." The queen continued and I almost choke on my drink. Wait! The queen's niece? A royal ball? I don't even know which should I be more shocked about.

"What are you saying, mother?" Hiro asked a bit irked. Looks like he didn't know anything about this as well.

"It's exactly as you've heard. During the royal ball in celebration for your return. I'll also introduce Dewelet as a relative of ours to lessen or better yet avoid any suspicions from then on." The queen explained reasonably that Hiro didn't bother to complain further.

"Oh and also, Dewelet will be your partner for the ball." The queen told Hiro and both our eyes widened in disgust.

"Mother, I told you I don't like having a partner." He tried to oppose it. Well, I don't like it as well if it's him. Besides, I'm so anxious about this topic because this kind of event involves dancing right? And I don't even know how to dance. Can I just not go? I wanted to say.

"You may not like it, but Dewelet needs a partner. Who else do you think is suited for it? She does not even know anyone else in this world." The queen justified and Hiro just shut his mouth. He really can't win an argument against his mother...

"Uhm... I don't really know how to dance." I inserted timidly out of embarrassment. I might as well shoot my chance at excluding myself out of the ball.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that. I'd have someone to come right away and teach you just in time for the ball," the queen replied brightly.

It hasn't been a week yet and other than this legendary fae pet thing, I have to worry about going to an academy full of fae people. Now, I also have this royal ball, dancing, and being Hiro's partner to mind about. Arghh... I just want to go back to my normal life!
