Celestia, I'm Sorry

Finally after months and months of not publishing, the next chapter is here! Sorry about the wait :')

It's been a month since Luna was banished into the moon's surface. The ponies of the kingdom only pretended to mourn over the princess for Celestia but she knew they didn't truly care. She knew now that they never cared for her sister. None the less Celestia held a ceremony for her lunar sister to say goodbye. It lasted for a week where everypony would place a flower at the entrance of the castle where Luna's picture was placed. They would then eat some of her favorite food and danced to her music. It was meant to cheer everypony up but it was the opposite for most, especially for a certain gray filly. Elise took the loss of her sister horribly. During the ceremony she would stay silent and not even crack a small smile. She would end up running off not wanting the ponies to see her cry. For the rest of the month she locked herself in her room, only coming out occasionally to eat and use the bathroom but besides that, she was distant from everypony.

It was now the end of the month and the start of fall. Celestia woken up with a deep frown and tear stained cheeks. She let out a sigh getting up from her bed and headed to the dining area. Walking passed Luna's room she paused, glancing at the purple and dark blue door. She bit her lip and continued making her way to the dining room. Entering the large room the walls were decorated with luxurious silk and paintings of their family. In the center of the room was a long dark oak table filled with delicious food and a giant crystal chandelier hung above it. Though it was a magnificent room it didn't phase the princess. She walked to the middle of the table and took a seat, glancing out the window at the garden before begining to eat her breakfast.

A small creek echoed through the castle making Celestia's ear twitch. She recognized the sound well, it was Elise's door. Quiet footsteps followed after and soon Elise was standing a few feet away from her sister. Her appearance changed a fair bit during the month. Her gray coat was paler and her once energetic red eyes were dull and unfocused. Her dark purple mane was messy and her frown seemed to be carved into her now hollow cheeks. She looked dead.

Seeing Elise's completion a frown made itself visible on Celestia's face but she quickly tried to put on a small smile "M-morning dearest sister." She greeted her softly. Elise stared at Celestia for a moment before walking to the table. She took a seat a couple chairs away from her sister and grabbed a apple with her teeth, eating slowly. Celestia's smile faded as she let out another sigh continuing to eat her food. Silence filled the room creating some akward tension between them. Clearing her throat Celestia tried to start some conversation "Um...How are you this morning?" She asked. "...." Elise stayed silent and took a small bite of her apple.

Celestia frowned as she glanced over at the filly "Look.. I know losing Luna was difficult but we shouldn't let this keep us upset forever, it's best to move past this and-" Her sentence was cut off my the apple slamming on the table. Silence followed soon after, a scowl visible on Elise's face. "You have no right to speak of her. You're the reason she's trapped in the moon, remember that." She hissed like venom, deepening Celestia's frown as guilt filled her stomach. With that said Elise used her horn magic to toss the apple in the trash and walked away. "I'm going to the garden, do not follow." And with that she exited the dining room leaving Celestia there to cry.

Canterlot Garden, one of the most beautiful places in the entire kingdom. Greenery stretched far across the courtyard where an abundance of bright and colorful flowers lived. Large trees surrounded this rich evergreen lined against the stone walls of the castle. It looked marvelous. Elise was most fond of this garden, having spent most of her time here playing games and smelling the flowers, a thing she use to do with her mother before she passed away. Now it was only a memory.

Elise walked among the flowers, her expression dull as she looked over each one. She hasn't felt the same excitement and wonder that she use to when looking at these. She felt empty inside without Luna beside her. It was as if nothing else mattered to her. Taking a seat under her mother's apple tree Elise closed her eyes, sighing heavily. Looking up at the sky she spoke up "Luna... I don't know if you can hear me but.. I miss you dearly. Without you here, I'm alone. No pony cares for me and now.. neither do you." She whispered sadly and looked down at the grass floor, her eyes glossy with tears. "I just wish things can go back to the way they use to be, when we were all friends and had fun. When all ponies liked us. When.. we were a family." She then closed her eyes and leaned back against the bark of the tree as a gently breeze passed by. "I just wish... I wasn't so alone.." As she murmured this and began to drift to sleep her eyes widened as a hoof covered her mouth. In shock she tried to pull away from this attacker but she was quickly pulled back as rope tied around her kicking limps. She screamed for them to let her go, for someone to help her but it was muffled from the hoof. Once she was tied up she was then dragged behind the tree and up over the stone wall, tossed into the back of a wagon.

Meanwhile Celestia was struggling to wipe away tears as she sobbed in her hooves. She only wanted her sister to be happy yet she knew that wouldn't be possible now because of what she's done. Standing up from the table she tried to stop herself from crying and looked out towards the garden. There she spotted Elise who seemed to be falling asleep. A frown carved itself in Celestia's features as she watched her. "For once she looks so peaceful.." She whispered to no pony in particular. As she was about to turn away something caught her eye. Looking back to the young filly she gasped seeing two figures pulling her away as Elise struggled to break free from the rope. She was being ponynapped! Rapidly Celestia ran from the dining room through the halls of the castle "Guards! Guards!! Princess Elise is being ponynapped! Rescue her immediately!!" She yelled and ran out towards the garden as guards rushed to save the filly. With a determined glare Celestia ran to where she was being taken and leaped up, her wings sprouting out from her sides as she glided over the wall. "Elise!!" She called out and spotted track marks in the ground. With a growl Celestia ran, following the tracks in hopes of finding her sister.

Running through the trees a wagon was quickly making it's way through the forest, bumping a few trees and over some rocks. "Boss boss! We got her!" One young colt with an orange coat and green eyes exclaimed, pulling off his black bandana. "Right you did son, nice work!" A gray stallion said with a wide grin, his eyes a crystal blue color. "Hey boss, what do we need her for again?" Another colt asked with a brown coat and hazel eyes. "Ugh for the last time Joey there's a bounty on this girl's head. She's a princess, so that means we can triple the price. And as soon as we turn her in-" "We'll be millionaires!" The orange one boomed laughing crazily. Elise's eyes widened after hearing their plan and began to struggle more, the bouncing of the wagon making her roll side to side. As she wiggled her snout the bandana over her mouth loosed allowing her to speak. "Let me go! Someone help me!!" She called out. "You watch it girly, I don't wanna hear a peep outta you, got it?!" The orange colt growled poking her forehead. In anger Elise reached up and bit down hard on his hoof making him yell out in pain. "Oi boss, she bit me!" The small boy whined clenching his pulsing hoof. "If ya don't keep it down they'll hear you Luis! The boss warned and huffed in annoyance. "You ponies are insane! Somepony help me!" Elise screamed as loud as she could. "Pete, speed it up. Joey, shut her up!" The boss ordered as the tall white stallion pulling the wagon ran faster, the wagon moving more as it ran over rocks and branches.

Hearing the yelling Celestia ran faster "Elise I'm coming!" She yelled out and spotted a wagon past the trees. If she was to try and fly after them she would surely hit a tree and lose them, so she had to run as fast as she could. Hearing Celestia nearby Elise lifted her head off the wagon floor and spotted Celestia chasing after them in hot pursuit. "Celestia please don't let them take me!" She yelled with teary eyes as a bandana was wrapped over her mouth by Joey. "That's enough outta you missy." Witnessing this Celestia growled and ran even faster, panting by how fast she was going, pushing herself past her limit. "Bows we got company!!" Luis yelled with a scared expression, watching the sun princess sprinting towards them. The gray stallion smirked turning to look over his shoulder at the determined princess and chuckled "Just as planned. Now Joey!" Quickly Joey opened a barrel and tipped it over, fish oil pouring out of it and onto the forest floor. As Celestia was just about to reach Elise the oil caused her to skid and slam into a tree. "Celestia!!" Elise yelled against the bandana with wide eyes seeing her sister injure herself. "Woohoo we're home free!" Luis cheered still with a swollen hoof. "That we are son that we are!" The boss grinned and turned to look at Celestia as the rode away, waving his hat in the air. "So long Princess!"

As Celestia struggled to stand she watched as they rode away through squinted eyes, her vision blurry from the force of the impact. "E.. Elise. D...Don't leave me too..." Her vision turned black as she passed out from exhaustion. Meanwhile the guards were searching all through the nearby forest for the criminals but have yet to find them. Taking a secret passage way through the forest they boasted on and on about what they were going to spend their money on. "When I get home I'm spending all my cash on bubblegum and building a house out of it!" Luis stated proudly. "When I get home I'm giving all my money to charity!" Joey grinned happily. Suddenly the boss banged their heads together "Ow!" They yelped.

"You boneheads aren't about to waste my money on nonsense. That's when an idea popped into Elise's head. Wiggling off the bandana once again she spoke "You're seriously going to share the money? If that's the case then you'll probably only have a couple thousand dollars each then there's no way you'll be able to buy all those things." They both looked at Elise confused but started to understand. "Oh yeaah. I can't build a house made of gum with only a couple thousand.." Luis muttered rubbing his chin. "And I can't give only a few thousand to charity..." Joey frowned his ears lowering. "Who says you have to share anyway? I say keep it all for yourself." Elise stated with a smirk. "Yeah! I don't wanna share with you!" Luis growled pointing at Joey angrily. "And I don't want to share with you!" Growled Joey. "Boys, boys! Settle down. We don't have to share the money." The boss reassured them making them sigh. "It's obvious that I'm taking all the money." He stated and both of them growled. "No way! I'm keeping the money!" "No I am!" Suddenly the three began to yell at each other. Pete, the one still pulling the cart, rolled his eyes and continued running as they all argued and broke out into a fight. While they were all distracted Elise began to scoot and wiggle still tied up in the ropes towards the back of the wagon, her only escape.

"Alright how about this! We all can use that cash to buy ourselves a mansion on the beach where we won't have annoying neighbors to deal with and have peasants to gloat to. You can make your room out of gum, and Joey can use his room to.. I don't know house the elderly or somethin'. We'll be the most famous ponies on the planet!" The gray stallion offered to which they both agreed on. "Yeah!! Take that girly, we got it all figured ou- Hey wait a minute!" Luis gasped seeing that Elise was about to hop out of the wagon. "She's trying to escape, stop her!" The boss ordered as Joey tried to grab her and pull her back it. But before his hoof could reach her they wagon bounced as they went over a rock and caused Elise to fall out."W-woah!" She yelled and hit the dirt road, rolling a bit and tumbled into and down a ditch. "She's getting away!" Joey exclaimed but his voice sounded distant as Elise fell deeper into the ditch, rolling down the rough terrain, yelping in pain each time. Finally she reached the bottom of the ditch and her head clashed against a rock, her vision blurring. Groaning in pain Elise looked around, her body covered in dirt and scratch marks, her mane messy and housed some twigs and leaves. "C.. Celestia. I'm so sorry..." And with that she fell unconscious.
