Chapter 35

Thunder cracked loudly over head and their swords stopped a foot above their targets.

"ENOUGH!" A voice boomed from above them, echoing around them.

Stampy winced and his ears laid flat as he looked up, realizing they were almost killed and stayed clung to Jason.

Jason looked up, but couldn't find a source for the voice. The doubles had frozen in place, not even breathing.

The clouds started to part away from them, letting light shine on them.

"No! You aren't allowed to do that!" Kala's voice yelled but they didn't see him anywhere.

"Who are you to tell me what to do?! Who are you to try to kill my champion when he's already won?!" A female voice argued back.

"He hasn't reached the beacon!"

"He has! Look!"

Stampy glanced around before looking down and seeing they were sitting next to the beacons pyramid.

"They have to touch it!" Kala argued.

"You can't just keep trying to kill them until they finally leave! That's not how this works!"

"But-!"

"I am your queen and you will listen to me when I tell you to stand down!" The voice snapped.

Silence before the doubles stepped back and disappeared.

"...Yes, my queen..." Kala's reluctant voice answered.

"Go on, go bother someone else." The queen commanded and they felt Kala's presence vanish.

Stampy looked at Jason, confused and fearful.

"W-what the...?" Jason still clung onto Stampy and stared at him.

"Go on, my champion. Touch the beacon." The voice told him gently.

Stampy hesitated and stood up, helping Jason up.

Jason stood up. "So... this is it..."

"We're finally going home..." Stampy added.

Jason took Stampy's hand "On three?"

He nodded. "One,"

"Two..."

"Three!" They both cried at the same time and touched the beacon with their free hands and light engulfed them both.
