Chapter 3

The ship's alarms were going off, blaring loudly. "Oxygen levels are at 75%!" A Male voice alerted.

Jason began to search around the ship's computer, trying to locate the ships' Stella files. They were surprisingly easy to find, and Jason began to burn the files onto a chip that he had taken from another part of the ship.

The files took a bit to download, as the ship's oxygen began to drop more and more while Jason shoved more supplies into the box. The screen lit up a bright green once the process was finished, and Jason threw the chip into the shulker. He stumbled to the ships' airlock, occasionally tripping due to dizziness. He couldn't put on the helmet since the box was so heavy that he needed both hands to carry it.

The airlock had a hand scanner that opened the door, still glowing with energy from Stella's system.

Jason put the box down and placed a gloved hand on the scanner, hoping it would work even with it on. With his other hand he put the helmet on, fumbling for the button that would give him oxygen. Once he found it his dizziness went away, and he was finally able to breathe clearly.

The scanner glowed as it traced his hand and the door hissed as it slid open.

He stumbled into the airlock. Looking to see that he had everything in the shulker he placed it in his inventory, which he would've done before if not for his panic. He closed the door behind him and found a large red button that simple said "OPEN LOCK" and pushed it.

The room hissed, sucking the air out of the room before opening the door into the vast void.

A map showed up in the corner of his HUD on his helmet visor, highlighting his path.

Jason braced to be sucked out with the force, but was surprised to see that he stayed dormant. He walked up to the end of the lock, hesitating before jumping out. He fell down a few blocks before landing with a harsh thud on what seemed like the ground, but nothing was there.

The braces in the legs of his suit helped keep him from taking too much damage.

The map marked a path out for him on the ground.

Jason was confused as all hell, but decided to follow the map anyways. Despite the protection his legs still hurt, so he decided to use his jetpack to follow the path.

It led him through the dark room until it highlighted a secret button on the wall.

Jason landed and stared at the button, hesitating for a bit before pressing it.

The wall opened up, revealing a white hallway.

He was blinded by the bright hallway at first but pushed on regardless.

It menon for a while before leading into a larger room. It looked like an observatory. But was very clearly NOT space.

The path led towards an iron door.

Jason wanted to look around the observatory, but kept walking, going to the iron door and looking for a way to open it.

There was a lever on the wall nearby.

Jason pulled the lever, the door opening with a click.

The path led him through the rest of the building then outside. They were on a hill that oversaw plains and a forest for what seemed to be miles. He heard a rumble in the sky and saw the clouds starting to darken. The winds started to pick up as well.

Taking off his helmet, Jason realized for the first time that he hadn't actually been living in space. He looked up at the sky, must be about to rain. He went over to the forest, taking shelter under a tree.

Rain began to start pouring down, the wind whistling as it thundered again.

He sighed, Taking his shulker box out of his inventory and setting it down. He rummaged through it until he found the chip. Relieved, he took the chip and placed it into a reader on the back of his helmet. "Come on... please work..."

After what seemed like ages, Stella spoke. "Captain? Is that you? How did you-?"

"Stella!" Jason smiled, nearly crying with joy. "You're back! I downloaded you onto my suit!"

"What?" Stella sounded genuinely surprised. "Why? I told you to go! Why did you come back for me and risk yourself?!" she sounded a bit upset that he could have gotten hurt.

"Because...." He paused. "You're the only one I have here..."

Stella's anger vanished. "...Well. Thank you for saving me. I will do my best to aid you, Captain." she noticed they weren't on the ship anymore. "We made it out? Where are we?" she asked. "Hold your helmet up, please."

"Just Jason." He corrected before holding the helmet up to show the forest. "I'm outside in a forest. It's raining super hard so I'm stuck here."

"Hmm... There should a cave near here we can take shelter in." she suggested. "I will highlight a path." the map changed to lead the way.

Jason put the helmet back on to look at the map. He ran through the forest until reaching the cave, running inside and taking shelter, he took his helmet back off.

"We should be safe here. Are you doing okay?"

"So far so good I guess." Jason reached outside of the cave to grab a few nearby logs and sticks, building them up into a campfire. He held his hand out, shooting a small beam into the fire and illuminating the cave with an orange glow.

Stella scanned the environment outside. "That's.... Odd." She commented.

"Yeah.... Where are we? I've never seen this place before..."

"I am unsure but the rain here is becoming... unnatural."

"Does seem a little... heavier than usual."

"I believe it's becoming... blood."

"WHAT?!" Jason's eyes widened. The clear raindrops were certainly turning red, staining the grass and trees. He stood up and walked deeper into the cave.

"I do not believe it is supposed to do this."

"Yeah... that's not how rain works..."

"I would not know, I have not seen rain before."

"Oh yeah... Well it certainly isn't red."

"Good to know. I am detecting signs of movement in the tunnels ahead."

Jason turned around, hearing the distant groans of zombies. He quickly put on his helmet and stood up.

"Would you like me to turn on your helmet light?"

"Yes." Jason prepared himself for the onslaught of mobs.

The helmet light turned on and lit up the tunnel.

He saw Zombies starting to come down the hall, groaning.

"Oh crap." Jason shot a beam out towards the zombies, but nothing came out due to their recharge time that he had carelessly wasted on the fire. Jason ran as fast as he could put into the bloody rain outside.
