Chapter 25
The group continued to walk. Jason seemed a bit more upbeat, walking faster than he was and no longer leaned onto Stella for support.
Stampy seemed pleased by this and followed after them, shivering as the air turned colder.
The forest seemed to be changing, oak trees slowly turning to spruce. The sky grew grey, and the terrain more mountainous.
"Is it... snowing??"
"I guess so..." Quentin looked up at the sky. "Looks like we finally made it out of the forest."
"Yay... it's so cold though..."
"Yeah, hope we aren't stuck here for long..."
Stampy nodded, glancing at Jason. "You doing okay?"
Jason slowly nodded, zipping up his jacket and shivering.
Stella noticed this. "It is only going to get colder as we proceed."
"Yeah, will we be safe in this weather though?" Quentin asked
"I will monitor it. It should be safe for now." She answered.
Quentin nodded and they continues, Jason getting slower as time went on.
Stella looked at him. "Jason, are you alright?"
"C-cold..." He stuttered.
"I'd give you my hoodie but its wet so it wouldn't help..." stampy pointed out with a sigh.
"You can wear the suit if you wish Captain."
Jason nodded and sneezed.
Stella deactivated the suit. "Go ahead then Captain."
Jason slipped on the suit, with help from Quentin since he couldn't lift some of the parts. When the helmet was put on the suit's heating was activated.
"Is that better, Captain?"
"Y-yeah... but..." He looked at the others.
Stampy gave him a smile. "We will be okay for a bit."
"Yeah, We're fine." Quentin nodded.
Stella highlighted the path for jason. "Continue on this way."
The path led through the trees and up the mountains, the weather getting colder by the minute.
Stampy wrapped his tail around himself and his arms around his chest, starting to shake in the cold.
Quentin had thrown on his jacket, arms wrapped around his body.
"I-it's getting r-really cold...." stampy shuddered.
"I can locate a nearby cave." Stella offered.
"P-please..." Quentin stuttered.
"About 500 blocks away, up ahead." She confirmed.
Stampy frowned, glancing at Quentin. "None c-closer?"
"I am afraid not."
"If we hurry we should be okay." Quentin said, beginning to walk faster.
Stampy nodded and ran after him.
Jason ran in front of them, leading them to the cave.
Stampy ran inside as quick as he could, shivering.
Quentin quickly ran inside and began closing up the entrance with some spare blocks. Jason set up a few logs to prepare a campfire.
Stampy curled up on the ground, watching them as his breath was visible before him.
Jason fired his canon, igniting the flames. The cave was enveloped in an orange hue as everyone sat down.
Stampy sighed as the warmth spread over him. "Th-Thanks..."
Jason took off his helmet and set it aside. "N-no problem..."
"This might be a problem... We have no gear for this kind of terrain..."
"Except for...me..."
Stampy frowned slightly at that. "... Y-Yeah..." he agreed. "Well... We need to find something Kippy and I can use."
"There's probably nothing around here for kilometers..." Quentin frowned.
"T-True... We are pretty much in the middle of nowhere..." Stampy sighed.
Quentin had turned sour again. He fell silent and stared into the fire.
Stella hummed. "I can scan for nearby sheep perhaps, their wool could be useful." She tried to offer.
"We don't have shears, the only way to get the wool would be to kill them."
Stampy winced. "I would prefer not too..."
Stella went quiet again. They really weren't prepared for this sort of thing...
"I... I don't know what else to suggest."
"I can do it..." Quentin offered. "As much as I'd hate I'll do it so you guys don't have to..."
Jason's eyes widened.
Stampy looked at him. "Wh-what?? You don't have to!" Stampy quickly spoke up. "We can figure something out!"
"If we can that would be nice. But if worse comes to worse..."
Stampy hesitated before standing up. "I... I'll come help you with it."
"If you're not comfortable with it, you don't have to go."
Stampy shook his head. "You don't seem to be either, so I might as well..."
"Are you sure?" Quentin asked, standing up and picking up a sword.
He nodded. "Yeah."
Quentin handed Stampy a sword and began to break the blocks that blocked the cave off from the outside.
He held the sword, his hands shaking slightly as he did but waited.
The blocks broke, and Quentin headed back outside.
Stampy followed after him quickly.
(Have a double post since I forgot to post 5 chapters lately. Thanks for waiting. Hopefully we will be back on schedule from here on. -Molly)
