Chapter five

I lied on my bed again, feeling tired as ever.

The food guy didn't come to my room. It was kind of a relief, yet I felt like he forgot about me.

Like my family did.

My family is probably living their best life right now. Living without me. Happy.

No, don't think of that now. I can't cry now. The was a clock was high up on the walls. Squinting my eyes, I see that it's 10: something Am.

Live without food.

BEEP.

I long beeping sound filled my side of the room behind the glass. I lifted my head up slight, seeing who was coming threw the big locked up door.

It was same guards.

"Wake up pathetic shit. It's breakfast time." The guy named Gabe said.

"Sorry, we forgot about you like two hours ago so we're bring it to you now." The other one smirked. I noticed he slide it under the glass, seeing that there was an opening there that I didn't know. Just like in my other cell.

I sat up from my bed, looking at the food I was given.

Just the classic oatmeal and apple. No water though. Maybe because I have a whole tank to myself. And a bathroom.

"Don't you two have something better to do...?" I asked in a harsh toon. I got up from my bed and slowly walked to the food I was given. I picked up the tray and took it to my bed.

"Not really. We could stay and visit you for a while." Gabe said.

"We do have better things to do then just stay with a worthless ass like you, but you know. We get bored." The other guy said.

I didn't want to pay attention to them, so I tried eating some of my food.

I didn't want to eat so I took the worlds smallest scoops. "Ain't you gonna say something?"

I ignored them.

"Hellooo? Do you hear me?"

Don't say anything.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!" He yelled, banging his hand on the glass.

I ignored them.

"Do you hear me you fucking peace of worthless crap?!" He yelled again.

Don't look either.

"That's it." He said, now getting my attention. I saw him pull out something from the front of his pocket.

He pulled out a card. He swiped it across the key pad it made a green light and the glass door slowly opened.

My eyes widen in fear. My hands started to shack to so I dropped my spoon in my bowl. I saw the smirks on their face that held their amusement for my fear.

I lifted my legs on my bed, holding them close to my chest. A single tear fell from my eye as I waited for the glass to open fully.

It did, and they walked right up to my bed. The man didn't have any hesitation on grabbing me from my shirt.

"When I speak, you answer." He said threw his teeth. "You are a prisoner. You listen and do what you are told." He said again, very close to my face.

I trembled in fear at that moment. What was I supposed to say? Or do in that moment?

"GOT IT?!" He yelled in my face. I closed my eyes tightly, waiting for whatever to come.

And it sure came.

I felt this hard impact on my face. It's started to burn then it stung so hart that it made me light headed.

"MEN!" I heard in the background. I didn't bother opening my eyes to see who it was. I was dropped, and I ended up falling back down to my bed softly. "What are you doing with the prisoner up close like this?!" He yelled again.

"R-Red leader! We were— uh, she wasn't following orders or responding to us in anyway!" He yelled, yet I could really hear the fear in his voice.

"I know what I saw solders. Now get out before I hire someone to clean up the mess I'll make if you don't leave!" He yelled, even making me flinch a little at how loud he could get. "Get to your posts now!" He yelled again.

"Right away sir!" They both yelled and speed walked away by the sound of their footsteps.

I heard the door slam. I decided to open my eyes. I placed a hand on my cheek to only make it hurt and burn again. I hissed in pain and clinched my jaw and hissed.

I sat up from the bed, and sighed in frustration at how I know I'm going to  deal with them again any time soon.

I looked up at the man that was
addressed as the "Red leader". He was still facing the door and his eyes were narrowed in rage as he (what I assume) stared at the two men who ran off in fear.

I looked down at my right and noticed blood on it.

Oh no... am I seriously bleeding?

He looked away slowly and back at me. "Crap." He said under his voice. He walked up to me, to which I pulled my legs close to me.

He narrowed his eyes at me in a "are you serious?" Look. "Look, you don't need to be scared. Let me look at that." He asked. I could tell he was already losing his patience right now so I sat up straight.

"Okay..."

He grabbed my chin and stayed like that for a while. I tried not making eye contact with him due to awkwardness. But he didn't move at all. I looked up at him and he was looking me in the eyes closely.

I felt my face heat up at how he was looking at me, but then again I got the chance to look at his right side of his face closely.

The scars he had. The eye patch.

I felt eager to know what's behind the eye patch.

We stayed like that for another five seconds, but there was a sudden pressure on my left wrist.

After that his expression changed to an annoyed one. I was a little confused but when I looked up I saw him gripping my hand.

That was trying to get to his eye patch.

"Don't do that." He blankly said.

"S-Sorry! I, um— I didn't know, I mean I was—" I tried to explain, but he didn't let me.

"Hush. Just, let me," he said while letting go of me and taking something out of his pocket. "do this." He finished. He had a small white bandage and stuck it at the bottom of my cheek that went under my chin as well.

He backed up to what I assume to give me some space. I flung my feet off the bed and placed a hand on my cheek, and over the soft bandage.

He only let out a small "hmm" and smirked.

What was that smirk for...?

He quickly whipped it off and looked away, also draining the emotions in his face to look more serious.

"So tell me next time those idiots come back okay?" He said, still not facing me. I don't know why, but I found it weird at how he lacks emotion.

It's like he forces himself too.

"Um, okay." I said. "How... How will I be able to tell you, though?" I asked, narrowing my eyes in confusion. "I can't exactly walk out and ask for you." I said again. "In fact, I don't even know who you are." I said, looking away from him a little.

"Wait, you don't know who I am?" He asked, sounding surprised. When I faced him he also looked surprised with his one eye wide.

"No..." I said, shacking my head along side.

"I'm the red leader?" He said, as if trying to make me remember it.

But I didn't.

I remember those other people calling him the red leader, and himself calling him that.

"I don't know what that is." I said, narrowing my eyes in confusion. "Sorry, I mean Who." I corrected myself, actually fearing to get him mad that I called him a "that".

"Are you serious?" He asked. "Right before all of this, there were literally wanted posters of me everywhere." He said again, his voice making it sound like everything was obvious.

"I never went out as much."

"Tv?"

"I couldn't afford it."

"Social media warnings?"

"Still, I couldn't afford the Internet. I only used it at a coffee shop or something." I told.

"Geez." I felt silly at that moment. For not knowing who he was. But how was I supposed to know who he was? No one actually goes around and talks about this everyday.

"Sorry." I said, feeling really embarrassed. I shouldn't really feel embarrassed by this. Just look at the situation I'm in.

I'm a prisoner.

"Don't be." He said, also letting out a breath.

"So... So I just call you red leader?" I asked, still looking up at him. "Because I know you won't tell me your real name."

"Just call me red."

"Red? Well, okay then," I agreed. "red."

We stayed quiet like that for a while. I honestly didn't know what else to say so I looked over at my food I forget I had. I looked down at it in disgust, really not wanting to eat it.

"Why did you compliment me yesterday?" He suddenly asked, making me look up at him in confusion.

"Because I wanted to. I don't know, I guess I have a thing for accents." I told, now looking down at my lap.

I heard a small chuckle come from, then he walked a little closer to me.

"So are you saying, you have a "thing" for me?" He asked, putting emphasis on the "thing".

I looked up in surprise at what he said. "I-I mean! I just like accents! I didn't mean it like that! I just... I just thought I was gonna die so I complimented what I liked!" I panicked, trying so hard to make him understand.

Then the next thing I know he was laughing at me.

He was just teasing!

"I was joking! Ha!" He laughed out loud, even wiping an imaginary tear away from his good eye. "Don't get it to your head, okay? I—" he even stopped himself just to laugh again. "I'm just teasing! Eat your food already, I'm going now. Oh and also I'll be sending a medic here to take care of that small injury. They come here soon." He hi usher with his small giggles and little laughs.

I pouted and looked away from him, feeling really embarrassed. "Okay."

He walked to the door and typed on the key pad and the big glass wall closed. I walked up to the glass slowly, taking my time on it. I walked up to the glass where he—

Where Red, was still standing. I looked at him closely, but not that close since the glass was in the way. I gave a light smile and placed a hand on the glass.

"Bye Red." I said. "Thank you for being nice to me." I said.

"Ptttf!" He let out. "That back there, was not nice." He said, sounding irritated by being called nice.

"Well whatever that was, thank you." Just for fun, I placed my foot under the glass where my food would slid under. But to my surprise, he walked further up to the glass and pulling out his foot and placing it where mine was, making our feet touch.

"A medic well be here soon." Is all he said, still with no emotion. He put his foot back down and on the ground, then walking away and typing a password or something to open the door.

He didn't look back or say anything after. He just walked out and that was it. He was gone.

I don't know why but I find myself wanting to open up to him, or just to have him around.

I stood up straight again, now realizing what I'm thinking.

I'm just a prisoner, nothing else. Nothing useful or anything special.

I looked down and at the hole. It was large, larger then the other one in my other cell.

But I could definitely try to get out of here.

I got down on my knees and lied on my stomach. I looked at the hole again, then carefully sliding myself threw. I surprising made it right threw, now on the other side of the glass. I stood up on my feet and in surprise that I made it.

I'm just a prisoner.

But prisoners could eventually escape.
