Grown up (edited)

Today, i'm using the manga of akatsuki no yona. The truth is, my parents never allowed to download movies like cartoons without the supervision from them. Especially, they didn't allowed me to download an anime T^T.

Ten years later...

Yoko's pov:

Ten years later, we have all grown up and changed.

Yona is getting a bit spoiled and naive; Hak became the wind tribe general and Yona's bodygaurd (i'm jealous -_-); Soo-won... Well, stays the same, and changes a bit; as for me, i am still a servant usually wears a cloak during cold weathers and a half mask that covers my eyes on hot weathers. I don't usually bond with them anymore, unlike when we are kids, and Yona calls me now a 'servant' not 'Yoko'.

"Hey father, my hair it's weird, isn't it?" Yona-hime asked King Il.

Really?! Does it had to be the hair? I was standing beside Min-soo, King Il's loyal servant, carrying a trayful of tea set. I am wearing a half mask to cover my eyes without wearing my cloak.

(A/N: Min-soo was Yoko's closest friend. Other than Hak.)

"It's not weird." the father smiles lightly. "Your beauty outshines any gem."

"I think i was born with an admirable face, too. But father..." she twirls her red curly locks with her fingers. "This hair! Why is it so red? Even my deceased mother had flowing black hair. It makes me look weird~!" she furiously waves her arms in the air.

A small bead of sweat appear on the King's cheek. "It's not true. Right, Hak?" he turn to the Raijuu.

"Yes, Emperor Il. Nobody has said that the Princess' hair is strange." he bowed to the King. "But if i may be so bold to say... There's definitely something wrong with her head."

I face palmed. Really, Hak?! To be honest, i see there's nothing wrong with Yona's hair. It was beautiful like the color of the blushing dawn.

"Shut up servant." Hime-chan started to throw objects at her bodyguard and the Raijuu just took the objects that she threw. "Father do something about this guy! Even though he's my servant, he's so arrogant!"

"Now, now. Hak is a childhood friend of yours, right?" the Emporer stated calmly. "Besides, Hak is the General Commander of the castle at just 18. It's only natural that he'd be your bodyguard."

"You don't understand! If i'm going to have a bodygaurd, then they have to be cuter!" she stammers.

"You don't mind looking cute yourself?" the Raijuu's words just made the princess stop. "It seems he's already arrived. Lord Soo-won." Hak announced while i pour him a cup of tea.

"Why didn't you say that sooner?!" the princess dashed outside.

"Soo-won?" a bead of sweat appear on the King's cheek. "Is that why she was worried about her hair? He won't mind her hair. He's her cousin."

"You don't understand women, do you?" the Raiju sip his tea.

"What?!" the King sweat dropped.

"Um...King Il, may i please follow the Princess?" i bowed lowly at the Highness.

He nodded in 'yes'. I left the room then follow the princess. Yona-hime loves Soo-won and always go energetic about his visits to the Hiryuu castle. Soo-won told us he always take care of Yona since they are little after the Empress' death, as a replace of becoming her mother.

The Hiryuu castle is so huge, but i know the directions for a long time. The princess is the only thing that is hard to find. I'd always follow Yona behind whenever she goes. I don't feel comfortable without keeping an eye on her. Then i bump into someone with an 'oof'.

"I'm so sorry..." i look up and saw our childhood friend. "Lord Soo-won!" i bowed for an apology.

"Yoko..." he smiled and ruffled my hair. "It's been a long time and it looks like you're wearing a mask."

0///0 I shove his hand off. "Lord Soo-won..." the Lord cut me off.

"Yoko, why don't you just call me 'Soo-won' like you did since we were kids?" he asked.

I sighed. "It would be unformal to call his highness just his name to a lowly servant." i explained.

He stare at me. "So, where is Hak and King Il? I want to see them." he asked me.

I pointed the direction then he left. Then i saw Yona still pouting and muttering about Soo-won threatening her like a child. A while ago, i had been with her for hours applying the over-scent of expensive perfumes (the scent nearly made me to have zynoise again), and choosing fancy clothes.

"All that hard work had gone to waste." i appear behind her, leaning on a fence.

"SHUT UP!!" Yona snapped.

The next day...

I outstretched my arms while walking at the corridors of the palace.

"Yona had been too energetic lately. I am so tired of chasing her around the palace, trying not to humiliate herself."

I bumped into Min-soo that caused him to dropped the scrolls that he was carrying.

"I'm so sorry!" i started to collect the scrolls.

"Yoko is ok. I should do this." he reached out a nearby scroll on the ground, but his hand was landed on the back of my hand instead.

He remove his touch and averted his gaze away. I handed him the scrolls.

"Hey, Min-soo. Are you alright?" i leaned closer at his face.

"N-nothing...!" he replied bluntly and flustered.

I grew puzzled by his actions, but i shrugged it off, and changed the subject.

"Min-soo, do you know where the princess went?" i asked him.

He nodded. "She went to General Hak and Lord Soo-won who went practicing archery." he replied.

"Thanks!" i smiled then dashed away.

Time skip>>>

King Il, Yona, and i were at the railing, watching Hak and Soo-won horseback riding with archery. While i standing behind them.

To be honest, i really missed handling the weapons for so long. But they musn't know about my abilities, as long as i stayed quiet.

"No fair, Hak!" Yona pouted and clenched her hands. "Stealing Soo-won to play with him while i'm not looking!"

"Now now, those two haven't seen each other in a while, too." King Il stated calmly. "Since they're the same age, they can probably relate easier."

To be honest, King Il does had a point. I watched the two boys shoot arrows at the targets. My fingers twitched and felt a bit envy at the scene.

"I want to do archery with Soo-won, too!" Yona-hime stated out.

"W-what??" the King blusters. "Not a chance! I could never let you hold a weapon. Actually, i didn't even want those two to have them."

"Then why don't you do it, father?" she turn her head at him.

"I might get hurt, right?" he replied and pouted.

"URGH! You coward!"

"Yona." Soo-won called his cousin. "Come on down. Come ride the horse."

Yona answered 'yes' and went towards him. It didn't made the King happy at all.

"Soo-won!" he snapped.

I went beside him. "She'll be alright. She'll just be riding the horse." i stated positively.

"Yoko. Keep an eye on my daughter." he ordered. Such a worried father.

I followed her where she was supported by her bodyguard to ride with Soo-won on a horse.

"It's high! I'm scared...!" Hime-chan squeaked.

"Relax. The three of us will support you." said Soo-won after he saw me.

"Hak will die under the Princess's weight soon~" Hak replied, lifting Yona on his arms.

"I'LL KICK YOU DOWN!!!" she yelled.

I helped Hak to lift the princess up. Since she's got irritated from the Raijuu's words.

"It's alright. You... Love horses, don't you?" Soo-won gave Yona a light smile, and outstreched his hand at her.

"Yes." she replied and hold Soo-won's hand.

He pulls her up and places her in front of him. I stood beside the horse to keep an eye on Yona in case she falls.

"I'll lean in closer to support you." he said leaning closer at Yona's ear. Yona-*>///<*

I chuckles at Yona's blushes. We stroll the horse around the training grounds. Yona talked to her cousin about his handling to girls. Such an idiot. He even told her that he was about to be engaged. I know that was a lie.

"Huh? I didn't know that..." Hime-chan deadpanned.

"Well, it hasn't been decided yet. Let's stop talking about this." Soo-won sweat dropped. "I can't talk to you about this sort of thing."

I could see an angry glint in her eyes. Oh Yona, don't tell me that you're gonna humiliate yourself again. I shook my head.

"I-i'm about to be engaged, too." Yona turn her head at Soo-won.

"Huh? To whom?' Soo-won asked.

"To Hak!" she replied in fake serious.

Oh dear. I don't like the look of Hak's reactions, but i can't help myself to cover my mouth in laughter.

"That's great! Congratulations." Soo-won congratulate Yona with no 'hesitation'?

[night time]

The sky was dark and it was raining heavily. We were at the dining room serving food to our masters. I still didn't remove my creepy grin after Yona told about her 'engagement' to General Hak.

"Soo-won was too cruel. To think he'd believe such a lie..." Yona buried her face on the table and gloomed.

"You're the one who's cruel. And annoying." Hak commented in a monotone voice.

"Hey Hak..." i poked the Raijuu. "Congrates. Your dreams are finally coming true." i smirk slyly.

He was about to slap me, but i ran away, and return to my position, standing beside Min-soo.

King Il look down. "You getting married might not be a lie."

"What...?" Yona turn to her father.

"Naturally we must choose an appropriate partner."

"Father?"

"You'll be 16 soon. Being engaged wouldn't be such an odd thing, right? I've wanted to discuss it anyway."

"No! Soo-won is the one i~" she was cut off by her father.

"It can't be Soo-won."

"I don't want you telling me who my lover can be!" she stammers at her own father.

King Il gave his daughter a serious look that i haven't seen it for years. He was quite angry.

"Yona. Up until now i have given you everything you have asked for. Whether it be beautiful hair pins, earrings, a villa, a flower garden, and anything else except a weapon. But, it doesn't matter how many times you ask me. I cannot give Soo-won to you." he explained.

The truth is, Yona 'did' everything she had. Even though she acts like a spoiled brat, but all of my heavy chains of burden. Somehow... It lightens up everytime i gaze at her.

"You are the Princess of Kouka kingdom. The person who becomes your hushband will become the nation's king." he added. "Your mother was attacked and killed by a rebel. Everyone in the King's family faces these kind of dangers. Because i knew that i didn't bother to get married again."

Yona look hurt after he explained. It was a rough advise, but it's the right thing.

Time skip>>>

I was in my quarters. To be honest, it was very small and it's only good for only two people. My roommate was Min-soo, lucky guess.

I raked my scruffy hair with my comb to make it straight. I usually do that before going to bed.

Our futoms are at the corner of the wall far away from each other. As for me, i cannot sleep due to the hard rain.

'Aren't you going to bed?' a silver haired girl with a mask appear beside me.

I didn't freaked out. "It's just... I can't sleep, Suzu." i replied.

'Hm~?' she hummed. 'Are you worried because you haven't visited your boyfriend, huh?'

"DAMN YOU!! He's not my boyfriend!" i snapped and slapped that nine tails right at her hidden face.

'That hurts.' she whines.

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever..."

I turn off the lamp, lay on my bed, and covered myself with a blanket.

'I got suspicious news to tell you, black dragon.' she said.

"What?" i took off my blanket and turn my head at her.

'Therr are no gaurds on duty.' she announced.

"What?! How could it be?" i exclaimed.

"Yoko. Go to sleep!" Min-soo groaned.

"Gomen." i apologised.

Seeing the nine tails fox was actually one of Yoko's abilities that never mentioned. Also, on school days, i will be pretty busy and it will be a slow update. Sorry.
