For the Worst or For the Better?

Yoko's pov:

It's a fine day today. Yesterday, Yona slowly went back to her old self again. Now, we're exploring the whole village. My wings kept aching to stretch free, yet i managed to keep them calm down by brushing it using my fingers. After that, my fingertips ended up in blisters from my wings' heat. I don't know why, but i guess it's natural for the dragon's scales is that hot. Atleast Yona didn't noticed it.

"Rina! Yoko, dear!" an old lady called us that we halted. I quickly hid my fingers behind my back. Her hair is tied into a bun and wears a kimono that reached above her feet.

"Oh...! Yes?" Yona asked her politely as we turn around.

"You two are quite a spacey girls." the old lady commented us. Of course i know there a lot of spacey girls here. "Did you get a good sleep yesterday?" she asked Yona.

I completely forgotten about talking to strangers. "What do you want, miss?" i asked her.

She turn to me. "So, you must be Lord Hak's servant. I heard about you." she said. "It's nothing dear, i'm just here to take your friend a little chat." she replied.

I sweat dropped. "Like seriously. Why would anyone called me 'dear'?"

"I heard you're a castle court lady." the old lady turned her gaze back to Yona. "You were kicked out of the castle because you couldn't cook, sew, clean or sweep, do laundry, play an instrument, or dance and you were sent here to train? XD" she laughs.

*0* Yona's jaws hanged in o-shape while i face palmed. "Like what Hak talked about 'Rina's' information to the people?"

"Anyway, we'll teach you from the beginning. First, wash these." she handed Yona-chan a mountain stock of laundry. "And you, since you're a servant. Help her as well." she handed me an another mountain stock of laundry.

D: "Wha~~?!" i sweat dropped. "What is she trying to do to us?"

"H-how do i wash these...?" Yona squeaked.

"You wash them in the river, obviously." the old lady left us.

"The river... Where is it...?" i tried to called her, but she didn't answer.

"Over here, Miss Servant and Miss Court lady." Hak appeared out of nowhere, and took half of the laundry from Yona, then lead us the way.

"What about me, Hak?" i asked him.

"My hands are full." he snobbed me.

"Wha~?" stream of tears started to fall down on my cheeks. "No fair, Hak-sama!" i whined childishly.

(A/N: "-sama" means master.)

While walking, Yona started to grew hesitated. Hak noticed it then asked her, "What is it?"

"...I can play music and dance... A little." she response.

"You mean that ear-wrenching music you play?" i asked her, remembering how terrible she is to play the instruments and how stubborn she is whenever i taught her.

"Hmph!" she pouted.

"You've gone back to normal just a bit." the Thunder beast commented.

"Huh...?" Yona-hime halted.

"Never mind." we continued to walk leaving Yona in confusion.

Third person's pov:

"So Hak... You had a little brother? He's adorable... He's nothing like you." Yona started to broke out a conversation.

"That hurt." the Raijuu muttered. "Tae-yeon is the same as me. He's an orphan that was taken in by Gramps." he explained. "Unlike me, Tae-yeon has a weak body. So everybody takes a special care of him."

"No wonder...he exhausted himself a bit too much yesterday." the female servant muttered. "I tried to tell him that i should do the work, but he refuses."

Yoko's words made the red haired girl look down, but gaze up as Hak announced that they're here at the river.

"Do the laundry in the river over there." the Raijuu told the girls as both him and Yoko placed the laundry on the ground. "The river here is the life source for the Wind tribe, so cherish it..."

"Hak... I can't do it." Yona called.

"Hey, you haven't even done anything yet!" the black haired man turned his head at the princess.

"Don't tell me that i'm gonna do the all the laundry." Yoko groaned.

"I can't because there's no water..." the red haired girl pointed out.

"What?!" the two checked the river and they're shocked to see the water has completely vanished.

"The river...has dried up?" the General was utterly shocked in disbelief to see this and a small bead of sweat appeared on his cheek.

Yoko's pov:

Hak sent out Han-dae to investigate the river downstream. I only followed him sneakily because earlier the nine tails warned me that there's something wrong happened at the river downstream. Of course, its the assassin's job to spy suspicious situations and to get away from Hak's calculations for the water budget.

I never knew that Han-dae would be so fast. No wonder Hak ordered him to investigate. I used my powers leaping from tree to tree silently, i finally made it to the downstream first before Han-dae would. I perched on the highest branch of the tree and look down below.

I was utterly shocked to see the Fire trive soldiers was the one who blocked the river. To make matters worst, Kan Tae-jun is the one whom behind this.

I balled my fist in anger. "Now what do they want?" I eavesdropped at their conversation. I heard that they're blocking the river from the orders if the General. What i most anger about is that Tae-jun was gonna attacked the merchants before they would even reached the capital Fuuga.

"Ohohoho! I'll meet them at the road." i smirked. I sensed someone is coming and it was Han-dae, i was shocked that he picked a fight on the soldiers. "What an idiot. He shouldn't just jump on conclusions."

I quickly jump off the tree hidden from the scene and secretly stole the bow and a case full of arrows which one of the guards left it on the rock. I tied my mouth with a black bandanna and put my hood on to conceal my identity.

Hidden in the darkness of the trees, i positioned the bow and arrow and pull the bowstring with no hesitation aiming it at the nearest guard. I released my hold and the arrow embended at the guard's back, earning a scream of pain from him. I cannot kill people because it'll cause too much trouble and i might activate the demon inside me. It is a perfect opportunity for Han-dae to escape once the guards are distracted.

I watched the beaten male sped away back to the tribe. I cannot let then know about my fighting abilities. I climb up to the trees and leap in the inhuman speed from tree to tree. I've been trained from a Master Assassin for 3 years, this Assassin Arts is very secret and only a very few persons whom mastered it. I'm one of them.

I returned back to the tribe before Han-dae would. I heard that Elder Mundok has arrived from the meeting. I had no time for that. Thus, i had something more urgent to do.

I sped on the road till i found the merchants at the distance. I hid in the darkness guarding them. I can't let an another trouble go again to the fire tribe especially is my fault to bring bad luck to them.

(Author: That's not true Yoko! It's the demon who's behind all this.

Sister: She can't hear or see you.

Author: How did you get here?! I've already banned you from entering my territory.

Sister: Your guards are sleeping so i entered.

Author: o.O TAE-WOO HAN-DAE!! *kicks the two sleepy heads*)

Following the merchants on the road, all i had to do is to wait patiently.

It was turning dark. I nestled in the tree roots while the merchants are camping at the clearing. I don't need to make fire for warmth, since i already had my wings and cloak which is very useful for cold enviroments.

I hummed one of my favorite tunes that i used it whenever i'm bored or lonely. Usually, servants are never allowed to read books or play any instruments without permission. I was the one whom broken almost all of the rules, only court women should allowed to do that for entertainments. I remembered once back at the castle when the nobles mistaken me as a court lady from my beauty and forced me to dance in the middle of the stage, where all the royals and nobles watched people entertain. It was humiliating when King Il, Yona-hime, General Hak, and Lord Soo-won was surprised to see me dance and play the biwa. Of course, it is rare to see the everyday servant was on the stage performing.

My thoughts run back to "Soo-won". Everytime i remembered something about the palace that made me remembered the King's death in front of my eyes.

I grimace then took off my bandanna. Shit! I hated to say this, but i wanted to erased my memories about Soo-won. I HATE THAT TRAITOR!! Suzu finnally returned from her duties. That made me returned back to my happy mood once i saw her formal haggardness. It made me giggled. I knew under her mask she flushed in embarassment.

"St-stop it!!" she stammers as i laughed at her features. "They'll hear you. You know that." o_O i froze. She does had a point.

We checked the people and it seemed that they didn't overheard my ridiculous noises. After that, i explained everything what happened during her absence in her events.

"So we'll basiclly just guard the merchants?" Suzu's ears twitched. "That's fun!" she's started to grew delighted. Suzu always wanted to get close to crowded people. "I never thought you could run that fast." Suzu gaze at the Wind tribe capital from the distance. "You are soo fast. I don't know you could run 3 miles in just a minute."

I smirked after she said it, but i can't let pride overgreed me and it'll ruin my reputation as an assassin.

One hour later...

It's look like everybody went to sleep except for me. Tiredless, i watched the merchants the tore my gaze back to the sleeping nine tails who nestled on the tree roots. I am on the topmost branch now.

I stare at the heavens then on the road. There would be a few ghosts passing by, staring at me with their emotionless expressions. Most of them died here and have moaned themselves from their deaths.

The peaceful nights was disturbed from the clanking noise of metal at the distance. My hearing is getting better because of my secret assassin trainings.

I jump off the tree and alarmed the Yokai, "Wake up! They're here!" i yelled in harass.

"Mmm, can we do this tomorrow?" she groaned and turn away from me.

"Stop with those excuses!" i angrily kicked the fox. "Get on your feet! We haf an urgent job to do."

T^T Suzu stood up while holding her butt. "My bum."

"You know the drill, Suzu." i darted into the trees.

Third person's pov:

"Hai." the silver haired girl saluted while still rubbing the bruise. After Yoko left her, she shook her head. "I can't believe i'm doing this." she shifted herself into s human form, which is no ears and tails and her hair color is changed to brown.

(A/N: The fox spirit is a prolific shapeshifter.)

"I hope this plan works." she muttered.

Back to Yoko...

Defeating a whole bunch of fire tribe soldiers without injuring them, is a piece of cake for the black dragon.

She returned back to the merchants and learned they listened Suzu's warnings, but got ambushed by an another group of soldiers. The ninetails cannot use her powers so Yoko fought the guards leaving them in black and blue.

The others are injured and they hurriedly went towards capital Fuuga while carrying the wounded people. They reached the capital in time. The citezens was shocked at the news and they quickly bring the patients to the clinic.

A servant that Yoko recognized at the tribe mansion told her about the events and Tae-yeon's sickness. He came here to get the medicine.

"What?!" Yoko was shocked to heard this. They hurried back to the mansion with the medicine that Tae-yeon needs.

The masked girl slammed the door open revealing people in it and a sick boying lying on a futom. They are shocked to see the tired looking female servant with blood on her hands and clothes.

"Yoko!" Yona began to grew worried from her absence and features. The red haired princess rushed towards her servant and embraced her.

Yoko stiffened at Yona's actions and she is still sweating from overwork. "I've got the medicine." she broke the hug and handed it to Yona then collapse on her knees with her hands landed on the floor.

"Yoko?!" everybody started to rushed towards her. Hak lifted her in bridal style on the other hand, Yoko's body felt numb to move, she blink a few times as her vision went blurry, and she fell into unconciousness.
