Yesterday was funny. Sadly Dad had to go back. Zoe, Mom, and I took him to the airport. I cried a lot. When Dad hugs me I don't let go. He just rubs my back. I wish he could say.

"I gotta go Andy."

"Okay Dad." I let go sadly and stand by mom.

Mom takes us home after we watch Dad's plane leave. I read in my room quietly. I wish Dad could stay at home. I wish he never had to go back. I want alive to. I hear someone ring our doorbell and someone opens it. I get up and go downstairs. I see Cami at the door.

"ZOE CAMI IS HERE" Mom calls up.

Zoe comes downstairs and hugs Cami. They go up and do girly things. I help mom make  chicken and fries for lunch. Mom and I make kool aid for lunch. It's a special treat that we don't get very often.

**4 weeks later**

It's almost father's day and were making cards in class. I start drawing Dad as a wolf. I also draw Mom, Zoe, and I as wolfs. I fold blue paper and on a white piece of paper I draw the Navy Symbol. I cut it out and put it on the front of the car. I also cut all of my wolfs our and glue them inside. I write

"Happy Father's day to the best Dad in the world. Your risking your life to make sure we get to live ours safely. I'm glad I get to be your son. 

Love, your little wolf pup

Andy."

I close the card and set it in my book bag. I'm the last one done.

"Class we're also going to make cards for the Dads that are in the military. Andy would you like to tell us what happens to those cards and the how they get to those Dad's?" Ms. Shelby asks me and I nod.

"My Dad friend says that getting the cards from kids make them really happy. They miss there family and there family misses them. The cards make there day. They wish they could be spending time with there families but there fighting. They love the cards a lot."  I finish and sit down.

Ms. Shelby smiles at me and we make the cards for them. There's a knock on our door and Ms. Shelby goes and opens it. I see one of Dad's Sargent come in. It's Mr. Jose. I  smile and wave my hand and they wave back. I go and get them a chair. He sits down and I go back to my seat.

"Hello kids. My name is Sargent Jose. I am a in the military, the navy to be exact." Mr. Jose says.

Everyone says Hi back. Mr. Jose is really cool. 

"Who knows what people in the Navy do?" He asks and No one raises there hand.

"Dustin how about you answer." I whisper to him and he nods and raises his hand.

Mr Jose calls on him.

"They fight overseas. There in the big ships." Dustin answers.

Mr.Jose nods and tells us more facts and other questions. I already knew them.

"My crew was here 4 weeks ago but only for a day. We hope that next time we come we can stay longer." Mr. Jose says.

After an hour Mr. Jose leaves and I want to cry. I miss my Dad a lot. I came here half way through the year when Dad's base got moved here. I made friends with Dustin who's Dad used to fight. His dad was able to retire. My dad won't. Ms. Shelby continues her lesson for the day. Once the bell rings we all go home. Mr. Jose is walking out. He goes to Zoe and I and pulls us into the principal's office. Mom's there also.

"Are we in trouble?" I ask once we are inside.

"No. But I wanted to take you guys to your mom." He says. He has the box of cards we made. Zoe and I take our cards out and hand them to Mr. Jose. He smiles.

"I'll make sure your dad gets these. I promise." He says.

Mom takes us home. We order pizza that night.
