The Dream

Cleo's normal dreams were about drawing, and Hollywood superstars. Not an empty library.

A chilled breeze made it's way up Cleo's spine in ways that made her shudder. Her pijama short sleeved shirt and shorts didn't help either. She wrapped her arms around herself as she wandered around. Dusty books with no names on them littered the old shelves.

The library seemed to have no one else in it, which was weird because she was sure Tom Holland was going to pop out any minute now. A smile crept on her face when she thought of it. Other than that, that dream was pretty boring. Nothing much was happening.

"Anyone there?" Cleo cupped her mouth with her whens when she yelled out. An echo was what she got in response

She started to pinch herself to wake up when she got a response. "Um. Hi?" A girl peeked out from one of the shelves. An agitated expression was plastered on her face. She look pretty normal, almond eyes, broad shoulders, and kinda short. The only weird thing about her was that she glowed a bright blue.

From her feet to her hair, was just blue. Almost like a hologram--but not transparent. It looked kinda cool. Cleo looked down at her hands, believe it or not, her skin glowed bright purple. How had she not notice this before?

Before Cleo could say something, a boy popped up besides the girl. Her scowl deepened. "Oh look Val! Another one! If there's another we'll have a whole party!" His skin glowed a bright sunshine yellow. The girl seemed to be annoyed by him. He seemed to notice this and grinned.

"Your name is Val?" Cleo couldn't help asking, although were way more important questions to be asked at that moment. The girl shook her head, "Its Valentina. He's Alex." Valentina sigh while Alex winked. "If we're sharing names, I'm Cleo."

Alex leaned against a shelve of book to his right. He picked out a book and pretended to be flipping through it, "Sooo, Cleo and Val. Are we going to point that we are literally glowing? I'm cool with it if you two are cool with it, just wanna know." He looked up from his "reading" when he asked this.

Valentina shook her head, "This is a dream. Weird things happen in dreams. You two are probably a figment of my imagination." That was true. It felt too real to be a dream, yet too weird to be real. "Hate to break it to ya, but I'm dreaming too. I'm real. Not sure about Cleo though." Both of them looked at Cleo.

"I'm dreaming too. But how do I know that this is a figment of my imagination?" Cleo pondered on this. Normally real life people came up in her dreams, not random ones. From the five minutes Cleo had known Alex, she gathered that he was quick to make a comeback. But he didn't say anything this time.

His eyes were glued on the book he was fake reading. He looked scared. "Whats up with the book?" Valentina asked, a bit of concern blossoming on her blue face. Before Alex could open his mouth to respond, shadows burst out from the book.

Valentina's mouth was opened wide in pure shock. Cleo shrieked at the sudden burst of shadows. Alex dropped the book and scrambled away as far as he could before bumping into a shelf.  The shadows formed into one disfigured figure. Almost like a human. A hole formed in it and words came out.

She is coming, and when she arrives, she will be merciless

With that, the shadows dissolved into the air. Who was "she"? When was she coming? Alex cursed, his eyebrows furrowing. "This is a dream. I'm waking up right now." Valentina's tone was firm. She pinched herself and the old library dissolved like the shadows.
