Týr's Freedom (Ch9)
"I'm sorry, I know what you said but I can't stop thinking about this. We kill bad stuff all time I just don't understand why we can't do it along side Týr, we saw his shrines " Atreus said as Hilda was going to stay out of this conversation.
She knew Atreus wanted to stand up to thst jerk ass monster sure she did to but war.. no one really came out on top. There would be death on both sides and she wasn't about that. She was already attached to these three idiots and her Father's. If they died she would never forgive herself. Her life well to her expendable. Hilda wasn't going to tell them that of corse but it was. She was half human and now she was sick and it was getting worse and yet better at the same time but she was running out of time. The least she could do was help them before she died. Maybe she could even leave a note for them just incase they do care, Atreus seemed to care a lot but who knew really.
"Those don't tell the whole story just what he did in the past," Kratos informed.
"I can't help but feel like your mad at me , you have been critical of my every move ever since we got to Svartalfheim, if you don't think I will be a good leader then say so," he said as Hilda was so close to raising her hand to speak but the boat suddenly went down making her fall backwards a bit.
Atreus quickly caught her then pushed her back up so she could sit.
"Thank you," she whispered as he nodded.
"I am not of your actions, consider your intent," Kratos informed.
"Okay, what is that suppose to mean?" Atreus asked as Hilda raised her hand.
"Something wrong?" Atreus asked.
"Speak," Kratos said as Hilda nodded.
"Okay what Kratos means is that your intentions are not really balanced. You want answers but also you want to fight a fight that may not be yours to fight. Týr might not be the same person you think he is and may refuse war. It seems like you are trying to start one but on the other hand like I said you want answers and want to do the right thing. However you aren't asking the right qestion, what is the right thing to do? War is complicated and messy. People on both sides will die. I know you are just wanting answers for now but keep in mind war doesn't just clam the ones that want to fight but the innocent people that don't want it as well. We just need to focuse on one thing at a time and not get ahead of ourselves. As far as I am concerned Týr is a vegetable and will be unwilling to fight. I will think of the worse so hopefully I won't be to disappointed," she explained making them both look at her.
"I shouldn't have said anything sorry," Hilda said asthe boat stopped.
"You seem to know a lot about war for someone that hasn't been in one," Atreus said as Hilda looked looked sadly at the ground.
"A year," she said as Atreus looked at her oddly.
"A year?" Atreus asked confused.
"I was actually a little over ten when my mother was killed. I was alone for a year traveling trying to find anyone really and after a while I did. A very small village and a couple took me in I didn't even get to know there names. They needed fire wood so I went to go find some in the woods but when I came back everyone was dead even there new baby. No one was left a live and to this day if I just stayed close by maybe just maybe they would be alive. I found the people that did it and I killed all of them. It didn't make me feel any better it actually made me feel worse. Then those cannibals I told you about got me then I found Sindri I never told him about that. It may not be a war but it seemed like one to me," she said as Atreus looked at her and tried to touch her shoulder.
"Hilda, I'm sorry," Atreus said as she moved away from his touch.
"Don be I made the choice to wipe them out. I didn't even regret it for a long time up until a year ago I started to feel guilty about it," she informed softly, "come let's go we have been gone for two days I think already."
"That qestion from before my intention is to stop Odin, even if that means freeing him from any prison he's in," Atreus informed.
"You speak as if you know his plan," Kratos informed.
"I don't know thats why-" Atreus paused.
"Both of you stop it, with fimble winter and ragnarok around the corner Odin will be desperate. What ever plan he had it will only benefit himself," Mimir said as he looked over at Hilda.
"Exactly we need to stop him from hurting anyone else," Atreus informed as Mimir knew it was already to late for that.
They killed some monsters and not to her surprise Týr wasn't in the first place they looked making Atreus frustrated.
"This place is huge he has to be here somewhere," Atreus informed as they kept looking.
"Hey there is a broken door over there, help me open it?" Atreus asked as he looked over at Hilda.
"You just want to see how strong I really am," Hilda informed as they went to into an elevator.
"Maybe. I wonder if Týr feels trapped in his mind, if I were him, Odin would be the first person on my list to get,"Atreus informed.
"So not checking to see if any of your friends to make sure they were alive or not wouldn't be on your top priority? What about your wife if you had one, maybe your kids?" Hilda asked.
"Well I would check on them to, what would you do?" he asked as he looked at her.
"I just told you," she said with a light smile.
"So if you were held captive by Odin and we were around," he paused.
"Let's see you would try to save me and if it was the other way I would find both of you or die doing it," she said informed.
"You better not die," Atreus informed as she shook her head.
"I will die eventually since I'm part human. I may live to be three hundred years or less depending if I get sick or not," she informed as the elevator stopped.
They opened the next vault to find it collapsed. Atreus was getting more frustrated then he was before but Hilda went to his side.
"Atreus I know you are getting frustrated but if I were Odin I would have an army here to make sure he never got out. But look there isn't one, I will keep looking with you but don't be to disappointed if Odin found out and he got moved somewhere," Hilda said as she put her hands on his shoulders and he looked at her and he nodded.
"Thanks," he said as she nodded.
"Atreus maybe we should stop looking," Mimir suggested.
"This mine is huge, just because we can't find him in the first places we look doesn't mean he's not here. We need to look everywhere, if anything he got moved or killed so his body should be around here," Hilda explained.
"Alright we will keep looking then," Mimir informed as Hilda looked down and around the mine.
"Hey guys there is another vault door across here I think," Hilda pointed out as Atreus smiled.
"I see it we can look there next," he said as they started to head off to find a way to get to that door.
But when they got there there was another dead end and enimes were also there this time so they quickly wiped them out.
"This mine is largely abandoned, we may not find him here," Kratos said
"But he has to be here, you said you you would fallow my lead and I say we keep looking," Atreus said as Hilda looked at him and grabbed his shoulders again.
"Atreus calm down, font talk to him like that he is trying to help you. He is just staing what he sees," Hilda informed.
"Atreus I will fallow your lead but I will state what I see. You may not agree with me but you will not talk to me that way," Kratos said as he went looking around some more.
"Sir," he said with a sigh as Hilda hugged him.
"When I get frustrated I take a step back and take deep breaths. I know not everything comes right away but it's Life. Just light training everything takes time and patience, Sindri is definitely the most patient man I know. I caused him a lot of headaches and ruined tons of his tools," she smiled as they kept looking around.
"The girl is wise brother, I'm glad she came along with us," Mimir said.
"She is distracting him but she is useful," Kratos started as he found an easy way for them to get across but again he was to heavy so he was going to have to find another way to cross.
"War doesn't measure a man his actions do," Kratos said as Hilda looked at Atreus.
"He's smart you know, you should take some advice from him. We are both young and we will do stupid things but that is just part of growing up. We have to learn from our mistakes and be better," Hilda informed his father was making it to where they were heading.
A pice of the floor gave way and Atreus grabbed her before she could fall. He pulled her back and she smiled nervously as Kratos heard a loud splash making him look over to see Atreus holding her waist and looking down at the hole that was now there.
"We are okay part of the floor gave way," Atreus yelled as he let go of her and they continued to head to the door.
They opened it up and once again nothing was in there.
"Damn it!" Atreus said as Hilda grabbed his shoulders.
"Stay calm, look at me deep breath you said you turn into a bear when your emotions are not in check. I know you won't mean to but this area is small and you turning into a bear will cause some problems okay. Just breath," Hilda said as a loud roar came out of no where.
"Did you hear that, I don't think we are alone here," Mimir said.
"Ears open, eyes up," Kratos said as hilda looked at them a bit nervous.
"The biggest thing I fought was a queen spider and she was about three times the size of that daddy spider. Any one have any experience in killing something bigger?" Hilda asked.
"We killed God's before," Atreus said as Hilda sighed.
"That's why Odin doesn't like you, explains so much," Hilda informed as she saw a small passage way.
"Atreus do my words irritate you?" Kratos asked.
"It's fine-" Atreus said as Hilda was about to smack his butt to get him to listen to her.
"Brothers please look there's light!" Mimir said as they got out and saw a door that was bared up.
"This has to be it!" Atreus said happly as two men came down making Hilda sigh a bit.
This wasn't an army that she was looking for, something was really wrong here. Maybe what they were hiding here wasn't what they were actually looking for.
"Okay let's go!" Hilda said as starting fighting them and oddly enough they were to easy to kill to her.
"We have to hurry and open this door," Atreus said Kratos stabbed the door with his blades and Hilda grabbed one of the chains.
"I can do this," Kratos said as Hilda nodded.
"Okay just let me know if you need help," Hilda said.
"The more you push yourself the weaker you become I don't want to explain to Sindri why you died," Kratos informed.
"Better then dying of old age with nothing to show for it," she said as he quickly ripped the door open.
Dust and dirt kicked up making her caugh. They went in and found Týr making her shocked to say the least but at the same time he didn't feel right. She quickly got infront of Atreus as the sence of dread came drop him.
"Týr!" Atreus said happly.
"What kind of trick is this odin?" He asked as Kratos wasn't impressed seeing him.
"It isn't a trick we are here to rescue you," Atreus informed as Kratos cut the rope bu Hilda was actually feeling afraid.
"I know those blades, you are a God killer. Come to kill me?" He asked.
"This is the the God of war?" Kratos asked as he tried to get near him but he started to panic.
"Stay away from me!" He screamed.
"Here brother let me try," Mimir said as Týr panicked more.
"Get away from me! You killed Mimir!" He screamed as he took off running.
"Wait a second! Come on we need him!" Atreus yelled as he went after him.
"Atreus wait!" Hilda yelled as more men came for them and attack them making them fall threw the floor hard.
