The Talk with Odin (Ch50)

Brok wanted Kratos to test the weapon, but there weren't any monsters around until they walked a little further away from the forge, so he tried it. The gun was terrific, and it kept making spears for him to throw and kill things with. Best of all, they would detonate when he thought about it.

"Look, I appreciate what you said back there. It's good to know you have friends when you find out your brother lied," Brok informed.

"He only wished to protect you," Kratos informed.

"I know; I expected he would do that for Hilda. But for me? I know we all die sometime, but I thought he would tell me," he said.

"You should talk to him when we get home. Maybe get some things cleared up," Mimir suggested.

"Today's alright, fighting monsters and all that. Hilda would be having a field day out here with all these monsters. Do you think Odin made them come here to kill you?" Brok asked as he killed a creature.

"I wouldn't put it past him," Mimir informed as Kratos killed some enemies with the new spear.

"Can I ask you for a favor to make us square? What happened between the lady and me? That's my story, alright?" Brok asked.

"Agreed," Kratos informed.

"Well, maybe for a while," Mimir informed.

"Mimir," Kratos said.

"Fine, very well," Mimir huffed.

They found a troll, and they quickly killed it and all the other monsters that went after them. There was a second one, and they promptly took that down. Kratos missed fighting the Atreus when it came to the trolls. He remembered when Atreus was younger, they had to fight many of them when taking his mother's ashes to their final resting place.

Not seeing Hilda around was nice; hopefully, Hilda was alright and not bleeding all over the place like she was earlier. He needed to figure out what was causing her to do that but make sure Odin didn't find out about it if he didn't already. He must have wanted Hilda for her powers; there was no other reason, but now he had no choice but to keep her alive since Atreus was her friend. That may have been the only thing keeping her alive.

Some too many ifs and questions were going unanswered; it was bothering him a lot. He needed answers; he didn't just want them. If he could figure out what was going on with her powers, maybe they could stop Ragnarok, and they wouldn't start a war.

"You two go on ahead. I need to get some material while I'm here. There used to be a zipline, but it's broken; you must find another way down," Brok informed.

"We will find another way down," Kratos informed as he saw the broken zip line and made a spear appear.

"You are going to fix the ziplin3?" Mimir asked.

"Yes," Kratos said as he threw the spear, which got stuck in a rock.

He made another spear and started to go down the mountainside quickly until they landed on another mountainside.

"I hope those two will still work together when Brok is done with him. The ice is already thin between those two," Mimir informed.

They made it back to the dwarf town only to find everyone was gone or hiding which wasn't a good sign.

"Where is everyone?" Mimir asked as they looked around.

"I do not know," Kratos informed.

"You don't think Odin did something to them, do you?" He asked.

"Now a good time to talk dad to dad, speaking of the surprise I got when Atreus knocked on my door with that whore of a daughter. I tried to overlook it, but sadly she was just like her mother. You probably saw it in her, didn't you? By the way, he is doing great, and so is Hilda when she isn't trying to tempt your son. The amount of times I have had to talk to her about it already is ridiculous. They both will keep doing well as long as I return to Asgard sometime soon, " Odin said as he appeared behind them, and Kratos got out a spear.

Odin had Durlin, and Kratos could tell he may not have had much choice. Odin was hiding behind Durlin like a coward, and he knew Hilda wouldn't be all over Atreus like that; it would be the other way around. He was lying through his teeth, probably trying to make it seem like she was always the wrong person. Kratos put the spear down even though he wanted to put it threw his skull.

"Plus, our friend here has much to live for," Odin explained.

"Argeable, also Hilda is no whore. I know the man who raised her," he said.

"Go run along now," Odin said as Durlin wanted nothing more than to kill him, but it wasn't like he could, even if he wanted to.
"New spear, never much cared for Brok, but you can't deny that dwarf talent," Odin said as he tried to touch it, but Kratos pulled it away so he wouldn't feel it.

"You came to speak; speak," Kratos said as Odin sighed.

"You don't want war, do you, Kratos? All that blood on your hands, all that blood on your son's hands? I want peace just as much as you do; perhaps we can find it together," Odin suggested.

"He's lying! For the record, we know what you did to Hilda's mother! The man that raised her raised her right! You brought her into this world, and they cleaned up tor mess!" Mimir informed.

"I know," Kratos informed.

"I don't know what her mother told you, but I can assure you that I did love her, but she was a whore. Her daughter turned out the same way, sadly, but your son of yours might put her on the right path yet. They would make a great couple if that girl that Brok raised stayed out of every man's pants she comes across. That boy of ours, he's everything I expected, so clever and kind. Are you sure he's yours? I kid, you should be proud of him. He is the key to peace in our age to break free from this fate and prophecy," Odin informed as Kratos looked at him, annoyed

"My son is not your key," Kratos stated

"Do they not have metaphors in your homeland, or did they? I'm sorry that's unfair; I know you aren't the God you once were. Now is the chance to prove it," Odin said.

"Return my son and my son's friend, or you will meet the God I once was," Kratos threatened.

"And what god is that, Kratos? What do you even know of godhood? In your lifetime, has anyone worshiped you? Has anyone ever prayed to you? Can you even imagine that kind of love? No! You don't care about mortals; you don't care about anything other than yourself. The monster that kills without cause. You fear what you can only hope to understand. Is it any wonder that your boy and that dumb slut are in no rush to return to you or the supposed good man that raised her?" Odin asked as his ravens started to sound him.

"Don't listen to him, brother; he's just trying to get in your head. At least now we know what he thinks of Hilda. That nerve of that bastard coming here of all places; at least you rattled him as much as you rattled him," Mimir informed.

When they left the village, the Einherjar were coming from the sky, and Fraya was trying to take care of them, but she needed help. There were too many of them, so he quickly got involved. He promptly started to attack them and take them out.

"So, what's the new weapon?" Freya asked as Kratos took out the last one.

"It is a spear," Kratos informed.

"It has the powers of Dropmeir," Mimir added.

"Interesting; we can discuss it more on the train ride," Freya informed.

"I am a bit worried; we crafted a weapon to kill a God won't that make you on the verge of what you were?" Mimir asked.

"Does that scare you, aiding another violent god?" Kratos asked.

"I'm scared for you, brother; that spear could start a war. The war, if that no longer concerns you, then maybe Freya is right. Maybe the giants had you in mind all along," Mimir informed.

"Why are we taking the train? Hilda ruined the tracks with her sword to make it stop," Kratos informed.

"I believe they fixed it, or this one is a different train altogether," Mimir informed.

They got into the train and waited for it to move.

"So this Dropmeir spear, are you prepared to use it?" She asked.

"To protect Atreus and Hilda, I am. Hilda is worthless to him, and I am no one's champion but theirs. Nor am I anyone's God in any form. It is not in my nature, do you understand?" Kratos asked.

"I guess the difference in opinion is the least I'm setting aside in this alliance. As long as the plan to kill Heimdall remains the same, the rest matters very little," Fraya informed.

"There is also the problem of Odin knowing a little bit of our plan," Mimir informed.

"I thought I heard Ravens, damnit; what did he say?" Freya asked.

"Lies, lies, and more lies. What do you expect?" Mimir asked.

"You think he lies about Atreus being in Asgard?" Kratos asked.

"No, that part, I'm afraid I believe him," Mimir informed.

"And the rest?" Kratos asked.

"The part where Hilda is trying to sleep with every man in Asgard is a complete and total lie. The only boy o could ever see her being with is maybe Atreus. But that is because he treats her well, and he has never degraded her in any way. I have a bad feeling once Atreus is done with whatever he is doing up there, she is going to be killed for sure," Mimir informed.

"Odin accused her of sleeping around? That is funny considering that is what he was doing," Fraya informed.

"I don't think Odin knows she's bleeding whenever she uses her powers. If he finds out, she won't be safe from him. Atreus has to keep it out of his knowledge as long as possible," Mimir informed.
