The Reunion

"Leave her alone! Whatever happened to her was your fault because you couldn't keep your big mouth shut!" Atreus growled.

"Why should I care what happens to her? If she dies, it's just one last kid to babysit," Heimdall informed as he approached them, and crows started to surround them.

"Hilda, can you stand?" He asked as she was shaking in his arms.

"Atreus, you should just leave her alone for a while," Thrúd informed.

"I'm not doing that; whatever this is, I can help her. I have been doing it the entire time I have known her. I'm not going to stop now. I know it was scary, but she didn't do that on purpose,"  Atreus pointed out.

"Her mother turned her into a weapon! A weapon that you can't control. I know it's hard, but if she does that again, you will have to kill her because I won't help her again. If she dies, it will be for the best," she said.

"How can you say that? She is your friend; you are just scared of what you can't understand. I don't need to understand why this happens or how. All I need to know is how to stop it. I have been doing that; I'm not afraid of her or her powers," Atreus informed.

"She was until I found out she could kill my family if she lost control. Her mother made her that way on purpose. I'm glad we never met before; what a week ago? She can't be trusted, and you know it. All you are doing is delaying what will happen sooner or later. She is going to kill my family or yours with that power she has. I'm sorry, I am, but I would just drop her off somewhere and not go looking for her. I know you love her, but will you choose a girl you barely know over your blood family?" She asked as they went their separate ways in Odin's home.

"Whatever this is, we can fix it; we fixed it before," he sighed weakly as they left the cave.

"We have much to discuss, Loki. I will meet you in your room. What's wrong with Hilda?" Odin asked as blood was trailing threw his study, and Atreus looked at her, horrified seeing her hair turning black again as cuts started to appear on her face.

"You were fine earlier, come on," he said as she started gaging, so he set her on the floor only to throw up more blood.

"Loki, can you please get her out of my study before she ruins my books?" He asked as Hilda was shaking, and Atreus paused.

"Yeah," he said as he carefully picked her up again and carried her to her room.

"I messed up," Atreus said to Ingrid as he put Hilda down on the ground and put her on her side so she wouldn't choke on her blood.

Ingrid tried to reassure him, but seeing Hilda like this, he finally realized that no matter where Hilda was, she would always be unwanted. The only real people that cared about her were Brok, Sindri, and himself. Maybe a very few select people outside of that. They all wanted him to leave her to die, and he wouldn't do that. She had been there for him, and now he had to do the same.

"It's times like these I miss home. Ingrid, did you have a home before coming here?" Atreus asked.

Ingrid made a noise as Hilda was finally coming back to her senses a bit.

"Well, maybe, Hilda and I can help you find it. It took a while for Hilda to find a place to call home; no matter how long it takes, we can find it," Atreus said as Thor came in with a bowl of soup.

"Don't thank me; I'm not here, do you understand? This is for her; her powers are starving her," Thor said as he left the bowl behind and disappeared.

"Did I fall off a cliff or some bull shit?" Hilda asked as Atreus smiled a little.

"No, your powers went crazy. Thrúd brought you back or brought some of you back to regain control. We aren't on talking terms right now, and Odin is mad we let the world go. Apparently, it destroys realms," Atreus informed.

"Great, wait, what wolf?" Hilda asked.

"You don't remember the big wolf we let go?" Atreus asked.

"No, all I remember was talking to you and then pain. I was burning; there were so many," Hilda said as she held her head in pain.

"So many what?" Atreus asked.

"People, they were just so angry, and before I knew it, I went somewhere else, and I couldn't get out. They just wanted to kill, so I went to Kratos for help. I couldn't feel you anywhere; I thought Heimdall hurt you," she explained as he helped her stand up.

"That's why you got the chain marks on you; that explains where you go when whatever takes over. You go to us, but why and how does that make sense?" He asked as he gave her the soup.

"Thanks, I'm starving. Feels like I haven't eaten in a hundred years," she informed as her wounds started healing.

"I bet," Odin will want to talk to us. If he does, the mask and Ingrid might have to stay behind," he sighed weakly.

"What do you mean?" Hilda asked.

"I'm thinking about going home. Even though I want to keep Ingrid, I don't think Odin will let me. We will have to come back for him when the time is right," Atreus said as she sighed.

"You're right; we can't just steal him," she said as she finished the soup quickly.

Atreus heard knocking at his door, and they both looked at each other.

"I'll get it; just stay here; you already bleed enough today," he said as she looked at him, confused.

"When was I bleeding? Who am I kidding? When am I not anymore," she scoffed as she put the bowl on the nightstand.

"May I come in?" Odin asked as Hilda stood up, and she nodded.

"I heard what Heimdall had to say, but I would like to hear from you what happened," Odin informed as Hilda was watching him closely.

Already he was manipulating him, and she could tell just but the tone of his voice.

"It wasn't there; I was wrong," Atreus said.

"Well, we all make mistakes, son," Odin said as he went to bed and patted it so Atreus would sit with him.

"If you care to sit next to me, you can, Hilda; sorry about asking you to leave. Those books aren't more important than you; I just. I couldn't handle you getting hurt," he explained.

"I think I'll stand," she informed coldly.

"Releasing Garm, that was a big one. Chaos is already spilling out into the other realms. We are safe here in Asgard but in the other realms," Odin said.

"I think I would like to go home now," Atreus informed as Odin looked at him sadly.

"Okay, if that's what you want. I meant it when I said you could go home any time, but before you go, ill need the mask back and the sword," he informed me as he gave him back the mask and Ingrid.

"When you decide to come back, Hugan will be waiting for you in your old home. You screwed up, but that doesn't mean you aren't welcome back here. Keep each other safe," Odin informed as the Ravens took them back to his old home.

"Ass hole. I will get him someday," Hilda informed as Atreus sighed.

"I can't believe I messed up so bad. I almost got you killed," he sighed.

"Atreus, whatever happened wasn't your fault. I don't remember much of it, but I know you. You tried your best, and that is all that matters. We will get Ingrid back and help him too. We just need to take some deep breaths," Hilda informed softly.

"Okay, let's go home then," he said as Hilda turned him around.

"What?" He asked as he looked at her, and she started kissing him, making his heart skip a beat.

He loved everything about her and didn't care if she was cursed; he just wanted this.

"If you want, we could; I mean, this might be the only time we might be able to do it for a while," she smiled as she was pulled at his armor.

"I would, but the realms are kind of falling apart; you also know that raven is here, and I don't want him to watch us. I can understand him," he informed.

"I keep forgetting how talented you are," she smiled as she kissed his cheek.

"Not as talented as you are. You bleed out so much; I'm surprised you lived threw that," he sighed.

"Hey, we will figure this out together," she said as she grabbed his hand and kissed it.

"That's if I don't screw it up again," he informed.

"Hey, failure is a part of life. It takes practice and patience to get better. I wasn't always a good blacksmith, you know," she informed.

"Come on, let's go home," he said as they went to the gate, and he got out the stone.

They started heading home when they heard yelling, making them hurry to find monsters everywhere around their home.

"Shit! Atreus, how many arrows do you have left?" Hilda asked as she gave him the last hit of arrows they had and set them on the ground for him.

"Thanks, not enough, I can tell you that," Atreus said as they started fighting the monsters.

"Atreus! Help me with this spell! Hilda, hold them off if you can!" Fraya yelled as hel-walkers were coming from portals.

"Atreus behind you!" Hilda yelled as a hel-walker grabbed him and pinned him to the ground.

Kratos quickly stabbed it with a spear and helped him up.

"Father!" Atreus said, shocked.

"Hurry! Off your back!" Kratos said as Hilda was quickly overrun and pinned to the platform's edge.

"Hilda! We're coming!" Atreus yelled as four of them tackled her sending her over the side.

"Hilda!" Atreus yelled, making a gold rope appear around his ankle, and it quickly started taking him with her.

"Níðhögg!" Hilda yelled as she saw the gold rope and quickly cut it to save Atreus.

Níðhögg quickly grabbed her and tossed her in the air, making her land on her back.

"Nice catch, girl! Okay, here is the deal, we need to go to Midgard; there are arrows. You know where your favorite fish are?" Hilda asked as Níðhögg made a portal and went threw it.

She quickly went to a chest and grabbed her arrows, and Níðhögg screeched happily as she handed her a fish.

"Okay, now let's go home, girl!" Hilda said as they returned, and Níðhögg quickly went to the house and screeched.

"Okay, Níðhögg, take a left, and I'll take a right!" Hilda said as she quickly started to throw her axes at the walkers.

"Hilda?" Atreus yelled Níðhögg was ripping them apart.

"Got a present for you!" Hilda yelled, tossing him a quiver full of arrows.

"Atreus, help Freya! Níðhögg and I got this!" Hilda yelled as Kratos went by her side.

"As will I," Kratos said as Hilda quickly started cutting threw them.

The portal finally closed after ten minutes, and Kratos wound up at the steps of the house.

"Brok!" Hilda said, shocked seeing him on the ground.

"It's just a flesh wound, nothing to it," Brok informed as Týr came out of the house with a shield.

"I may have used my powers," Hilda informed as her eyes and hair were changing again, making Atreus quickly go to her and hide her face until she recovered.

"Kratos is coming," Hilda said, feeling his presence.

"I'll talk to him, okay? Just don't use your magic. I'll get you something to eat, too," Atreus said as he went over to him with his head hung low.

"We are doing this together," Hilda said as she got up, but she saw her hands and decided to keep her distance.

"What do I call you?" Kratos asked as Hilda could feel the hurt in his voice.

Atreus didn't say anything as he dropped his bow and quickly went to him for a hug.

"Atreus, what has happened?" Kratos asked as Atreus wanted to cry.

Between Hilda and Garm, thinking he could do everything and make Kratos proud of him. He knew he messed up. Now Hilda was also paying for his mistakes.

"All of this, this is all my fault. The hel-walkers are everywhere. I freed  Garm! I didn't know what he would do; I only saw an injured animal!" He said as Atreus looked over at Hilda, who was just sitting with her back turned to everyone.

Everyone started to get mad at Atreus except Kratos when Hilda stood up.

"Shit the fuck up, all of you! We know he's bad; we will fix it. Me, Kratos, and Atreus, or just me and Atreus!" Hilda yelled, making everyone look at her.

"Hilda, it's okay. I deserve it," Atreus said, sewing that Hilda managed to make herself appear fine.

"I'm... I think I'm starving," she said as she fell to her knees, and Atreus quickly went to her.

"What's wrong with her?" Týr asked as Fraya went to them.

"Her powers, everything she uses now, it's like they are taking everything away from her," Atreus said as Hilda was close to passing out.

"Great, we have Garm lose, and Hilda is on the brink of starving to death every time she uses her powers!" Mimir informed.

"If you three are going to hell, I would like to stay here; I have had my fill of going to hell," Mimir informed as Kratos gave him to Freya.

"Brok said he will be fine; I'll get you some arrows and food, okay, Hilda? Just hang in there," Sindri said as she nodded as everyone left for the house.

"You know hell isn't too bad, great scenery, and now there is a fluffy wolf there too," Hilda smiled as she threw up blood.

"Hilda, come on, save your energy," Atreus said as she tried to get up.

Níðhögg went over to them and nuzzled her, and Hilda looked at her, shocked.

"You are the scaliest wolf I have ever seen! I love you! I love fluffy things!" Hilda said as Atreus was trying not to be upset, but it was tough to do that.
