The Birds And The Bees (Ch11)

Kratos got up early so they could get some supplies and hopefully figure out the next part in there journey but today might become a rest day. They all needed it and new tools also armor. Hilda took a lot of damage and he new new sadly that they might actually be needing her to come along with them.

"Morning Kratos, Mimir," Sindri said as Brok was working away on some new armor.

"Morning! Hilda not up?" Mimir asked knowing didn't sleep alot.

"No, actually for once Hilda slept threw the night," he said as Mimir was shocked.

"Well she did use a lot of her energy I wouldn't be surprised if she slept threw Ragnarok," Mimir said as Kratos grunted.

"Well I don't think Atreus will be joining you then," Sindri said as he looked over at some unfinished armor.

"Why is that?" Kratos asked making Sindri jump a bit.

"Um no reason he is just as tired as she is," he said as Kratos decided to head to Atreus's room to make sure he was still in there.

"Wait Kratos please don't wake them up, this is the first time Hilda ever slept threw the night without waking up and sleeping in a bed here," Sindri begged as Kratos saw his sons weapons by the door.

He went inside and saw Atreus cuddling with Hilda. They were facing each other while Atreus had one of his arms wrapped around her and there legs got intertwined. He noticed Atreus was actually hugging her close to his body and one of Hilda's hands was wrapped around his waist. There forheads were barely touching and Atreus moved her closer and nuzzled her as he did it.

"This is unexpected," Mimir said as they both looked at the pair sleeping next to each other.

Kratos grunted and left the room even though he wanted to wake his son up doing that was going to wake Hilda. She desperately needed to heal and if he talked to Týr and Mimir maybe they could give him answers.

"Kratos, Hilda reminds me of a young Goddess I knew before I was imprisoned. She was part giant and left as soon as Odin ordered all the giants to be killed off. I don't think she even made it out of asgsrd alive," he said as Kratos hmmed.

"Are we really letting them sleep longer?" Mimir asked.

"They were awake for three days, Hilda is half human and needs the rest Kratos she will die," Kratos examined.

"Oh right, yes I keep forgetting about that," he informed sarcasticlly after she kept having to remind the boy that she was.

They left the room to let them sleep but it was time to explain to Atreus the birds and the bees. He was not to excited about that bit it wasn't like he had a choice now since he was definitely getting attracted to Hilda only Hilda wasn't attracted to him well not yet anyway.

"You are going to tell the boy about the joys of being a man?" Mimir asked.

"Later," he said.

"That should be interesting," Mimir chuckled.

Atreus woke up and noticed rather quickly how close he got to Hilda last night and his face turned really red. How did this happen? He was only holding her hand last night and now he was holding her while she slept, she was going to murder him! He didn't know how he was going to get free from her but he had to do it before she woke up. He slowly started move but then she started moving making him freeze. She pulled him closer to her and moved one of her legs a little further up then what she ment to.

Atreus tried to move again but Hilda once again moved him closer to her. Atreus slowly moved her knee back down making him sigh with relief. He was not going to tell her that she was making him feel weird because if she knew what was going on there was a very high chance she may get upset with him. But it was slowly started to make sence. He liked her a lot, even though they barely knew each other he liked her a lot. She was smart and brave also beautiful and he could definitely see why Sindri tried to keep them separated. Instead of trying to get away from her now he held her close to him knowing this might actually be the last time they sleep like this together.

Hilda started waking up making him freak out a little since he was still entangled with her. Hilda opened her eyes to see Atreus extremely close to her so she immediately backed off and almost fell off the bed.

"Sorry! You were having a nightmare so I got close to you and I guess we got um closer some how," Atreus informed as Hilda took a deep breath and calmed down.

"Wait so you got close to me even though you knew very well I could have killed you?" She asked.

"You... you were having a nightmare and I just wanted to make sure you got some sleep at least. I'm sorry," he said as she looked down then back up at him.

"It's fine, I'm sorry I over reacted I'm not used to this," she said as he nodded.

"It's fine, so um what are your plans for today? We will probably be trying to get answers out of Týr and resting more," he explained.

"Well first I need a bath and to change my cloths but the bath can wait if you want I can teach you how to swim and how to butcher a spider," she said as Atreus looked at her and smiled.

"Sure!" He said as she got a chest from under the bed and took out a dress that was in it.

"I thought all your cloths would be in your room," he said as she smiled.

"My regular cloths like pants and shirts are in my room but Týr is in there," she said as Atreus looked at him oddly.

"I thought he took the broom closet," Atreus pointedout as she shrugged.

"I can't actually remember but either way I'm going to be wearing a dress," she said as she got out one of her dresses and he felt his face turn red again.

"Okay... um I'll wait outside. Want me to um shut the door?" He asked.

"No it will be fine it won't take me to long," Hilda said as he went outside by the door.

"I have to be getting sick or something," he said as he picked up his weapons and leaned on the wall.

Then it clicked he wasn't sick he was getting interested in girls. It wasn't just liking her as a person but more then that. Maybe it was love or something else he couldnt really describe but he knew it was definitely something. It made perfect sence now but that also ment he needed to be extra careful about Hilda because the last time he complimented her he almost ended up with an axe in his head. He saw his father coming and Hilda came out of her room. Atreus didn't look at her right away since his father was coming.

"You two are awake! We thought you would sleep the whole day away!"Mimir informed as Hilda made sure her stress was clean.

"Sorry that would be my fault, I apparently was holding your son hostage while I was sleeping. I told him what happened to Sindri when he woke me up," Hilda said as Atreus looked at Hilda then back at his father.

But Atreus looked back at her seeing her in a beautiful red dress that fit it well making him stare at her. His brain went to a diffrent relm and Kratos could tell.

"We will speak to Týr and see if he knows anything about Odin's plans fir Atreus when he wakes," Kratos said as Hilda nodded.

"Since your son doesn't know how to swim would it be alright if we go to Svartalfheim with your supervision of corse. I know an area that is very secluded and hard to get to if yiu don't know it how ever the lake it connects to leads to the dwarf village. I highly doubt that Odin kept his men there long. He will be searching for Týr in other places hopefully if not it isn't to far from a gate," Hilda explained as Kratos grunted in a response.

"It is an important skill to learn, we will go once I am done," Kratos said as she nodded and then saw Atreus starring at her.

"Do have something on my face?" Hilda asked as Atreus jumped a little.

"No," he said quickly.

"Are you lying?" She asked

"No, I just.. you look um," he paused as he gave her two thumbs up and she lifted up an eyebrow in confusion.

"Okay... um I'm going to get the clay ready I guess. Kratos I'm sorry to tell you but your son is very strange," she said as he looked at her shocked.

"I remembered you don't like compliments,"Atreus informed.

"You are still weird," she said as he was floored.

"Wair so I can compliment you now?" He asked.

"No ill stab you," she said with a smile as she left.

"But- what am I supposed to say then?! You threw an ax at my head when I tried to tell yiu what Sindri said!" He informed.

"You didn't say Sindri first you started saying the compliment, also there was a monster behind you," she explained as she bent down to pick something up some paper that belonged to one of the dwarfs.

"She threw an ax at your head?!" Mimir asked as Atreus smiled a bit.

"It was an accident?" Atreus said more lik a qestion.

"Dear gods lad and you still slept with her in your bed? You are going to sleep with the wrong girl and end up dead," he said as Atreus looked kind of confused.

"I was just trying to help her," Atreus informed.

Hilda was getting the clay ready when she heard Atreus start to yell making her stop and try to figure out what he was saying until Sindri popped in with a clip bord.

"Why was Atreus yelling?" Hilda asked as the yelling stopped.

"By the sound of the screaming I think Kratos is explaining how children are made," Sindri informed as he opened a chest and grabbed some metal pieces.

"Oh finnaly, I hope Kratos also teaches him how to flirt he is really bad at it," Hilda said as Sindri stopped.

"He's been flirting with you?" Sindri asked.

"I don't think it's intentional, it just happened the once. He remembered I didn't like compliments and he was looking at me kind of funny for a second then I asked if there was something on my face and he said no I look okay. But the way he told me was putting two thumbs up," she said with a slight grin.

"Ha! I remember those days, Sindri smiled.

"I did tell you I threw an axe at Atreus right?" She asked as he nodded.

"It's no wonder all the dwarf men your age are scared of you," he said as she shrugged.

"Can't help it, they flirt with me and they will be with one less ball that's all I'm saying, she said as Atreus came by awkwardly.

"I don't think we should do pottery," Atreus said as Hilda already had the clay out.

"Come on, it will be fun. Get over here," she said with a smile and threw an apron at him.

Sindri vanished and went over to Kratos since he was eatting breakfast. He could hear Hilda laughing at Atreus who must have been struggling with making what ever it was he was making.

"So how did it go?" Sindri asked.

"The lad turned so red! He insisted that he was only letting her sleep in his bed to help her with her nightmares," he laughed.

"He was embarrassed about his body changing," Kratos informed as Sindri sighed.

"He is still a child," he explained as Týr came out of the broom closet and sat with them.

"You are being way to rough with the clay," Hilda said as she tried not to laugh.

"It's really hard! How do you do this?" Atreus asked as his clay bowl was not even and lumpy.

"Here let me help," she said as she went over to his bowl and took his hands in hers.

A he smiled at her as she guided his hands fixing the bowl. She was standing over him and her long hair went on his shoulders. Once it was don't she smiled and wiped her hands on the apron.

"So much easier if I was sitting but that should work. Do you want to design it?" She asked as he thought about it.

"I don't know what to design it," he said as she smiled.

"Here she said as she grabbed her stool and moved it so it was behind him and carved a light plus sign into it making him smile.

"We can do that," he said as they both started carving into it.

"Here write your name on the bottom, do you know greek?" Hilda asked.

"Actually a little why?" He asked.

"Why don't you write something in Greek? This could be fore your father," Hilda informed.

"I don't think he would like it if I made it for him Hilda," he said as she she smiled.

"You never know unless you try," she said as he sighed and remembered that his father was thinking he was going to start a war.

"I don't think he will like it to much Hilda," he said as Hilda smiled.

"I know it's hard but he will like it. Just because you don't see eye to eye all the time doesn't mean he doesn't love you," Hilda said he looked at her and sighed .

"Come on Atreus you know I'm right," she said as he sighed and started to carve on the inside of the bowl on the bottom.

Atreus carved his name into the side and then handed it to Hilda.

"You helped write your name on it to," Atreus said as she didn't argue with him and carved her name into it next to his.

He put a plus sign in between there names, he loved the way it looked but mostly because Hilda helped him out a lot.

"Come on its lunch time we need to clean up and I can show you how to butcher a spider," she smiled as they put the pottery up and cleaned up.

"Okay so gently," she said she cut into the spider.

It seemed easy enough so he did it and blood squirted out all over him making him back off quickly as more started spraying his face and body. Hilda started laughing uncontrollably as he looked at her shocked. Black blood dripped down his face and down on the apron making him sigh.

"You are something else, I told you to be careful," she laughed as he wiped his face off.

"You did this on purpose!" He said as she shook her head.

"Come on Atreus you can't be all I will stab it like a man all the time," she laughed as she took the third spider and took his hands in hers.

"This is how hard you have to cut it," she said as she carefully cut it and no blood squirted out of the spider this time.

"Huh... I guess I just need to work on being more gentle," he said as she hmmed in response.

"Fuck that shit! If anything just smash the fucker and cut off its head," Brok said as he saw the pair.

"That is how blood got on the ceiling," she said as he grabbed some metal pieces.

"A little bit of blood killed no body, come on and hurry up I'm starving!" Brok said as she rolled her eyes.

"You are always hungry," she stated.

"And you happen to be a good cook that can turn a nasty ass spider into food fit for a God so hurry up!" He said she laughed.

"Okay, but rush me again and I'll put an eye in your soup," she said.

"Better not! Last time I had an eye in my soup it wouldn't stop looking at me," he said as he headed to the table.

Hilda cleaned up and so did Atreus then he helped make dinner. She showed him her training room she had that was also doubled as a small garden willed with mini trees and vegetables and fruit from Midgard. After picking some potatoes they headed back to make dinner. They talked about weapons and how some of them were made. Hilda however could feel a pair of eyes burning in the back of her head.

It was definitely not Sindri or Brok so she looked over and saw Týr was starting at her while she was cooking and that bad feeling crept over her again but it had to be because she didn't trust him. Hilda didn't like how he seemed to be starring at her but he was tall also his eyes were gold so it could have just been her imagination.

"Your son and Hilda was it, are becoming good friends it seems like," Týr said as he looked over at Hilda and Atreus.

"I really don't like Týr being here I feel like something is wrong with him," Hilda whispered to Atreus as Atreus put her hand on her shoulder.

"It's fine, you just don't trust him yet that's all," he said as she shook her head.

"No its not just that I had this feeling alot when I was alone in the woods. Something just doesn't seem right, it was to easy to get to him Atreus also I feel him starring at me. His eyes are burning holes in the back of my head," she informed.

"Would anyone in there right mind go against Odin and take one of his prisoners, no. He is probably watching us to like we are watching him, he's probably confused as to why we are friends," Atreus said as she sighed.

"You also look really nice in that dress," he said as she looked at oddly, "Please don't murder me."

"Don't worry I won't this time," she said as he smiled.

"See its not hard to take a compliment once in awhile," he said as she gave him the deth glare.

"They are a distraction," she informed.

"I don't really think so," he said softly as she gave him a bowl of soup.

"You must be the only one that thinks that then," she informed as she gave him a second bowl.

"I don't think so," he said as he smiled at her and started to head to the table where Brok, Týr, and Kratos were sitting and started to pass out the soup they made.

"Sindri lunch!" Hilda called as Sindri appeared out of nowhere.

"Thank you! Just let me wash my hands," he said as she got an extra bowl of soup out for him.

"This is the best soup I have ever had!" Brok said as Hilda laughed.

"You say that just about every time I make you food," she smiled as Kratos was actually impressed to but he didn't say anything about it.

"Thank you, this is a lot better then what they would give me when I was locked up in that cell I was in for so long," Týr informed.

"Thank you," Hilda said as Atreus sat by her and they quickly started to eat.

"We will go swimming once we are done eating," Kratos informed as Atreus looked at him shocked.

"Really? It's super cold in Midgard," Atreus informed.

"We will not be going to Midgard, Hilda has a place in mind and I trust her judgment. You need to learn, it is a very important skill to learn," Kratos informed.

"So you will be teaching me?" Atreus asked.

"No Hilda will," he said as Atreus almost spat out his soup.

"Really?" He asked.

"Is there a problem?" Kratos asked.

"No sir," he said as Hilda smiled.

"Good," he said as Atreus sighed a bit.

"We will watch Týr then!" Sindri informed as he grabbed his bowl.

After they were done eatting Hilda switched her cloths so she was wearing pants and a shirt as well as her armor. They went back to Svartalfheim but they went to a secluded place with lots of trees but once they ventured deeper they came into a clearing and part of the river they never been to. Kratos sat down by a rock wall and Hilda started to take off her armor. Hilda left her weapons by Kratos except for a knife.

"Okay Atreus take off your armor," Hilda said as she took off her shirt revealing another shirt cut in half and string holding the front closed.

Her stomach was showing making his eyes go wide as his cheeks grew red. His mind went blank and his whole body was telling him to leave and to never look back. Hilda took off her shoes and headed to the water.

"I don't think this is a good idea," Atreus said as Kratos looked over at him.

"Control your emotions;take off your armor," Kratos said as Atreus took off his weapons then his armor.

"It's hard to do that when she makes me feel weird!" He whispered yelled.

"Your body is telling you to reproduce its natural," Kratos informed as Atreus sighed.

"Just think of something really disgusting to trick your body into stopping it like a rotting corpse," Mimir informed.

"Come on Atreus!" Hilda said as Atreus took the last bit off his armor odd so he was only wearing pants.

"With happen to every girl I meet?" Atreus asked.

"Not all just some your mind tells you that you are attracted to. Maybe I'll teach you how to get a girlfriend," Mimir informed with a slight chuckle.

"Later," Kratos said as Atreus went over to Hilda.

Kratos watched as Atreus struggled with swimming but after a while started to get the hang of it. Hilda even taught him how to float in water and hold his breath under water to get stuff he might need. It was better then what Kratos had in mind to teach Atreus how to swim.

"I miss swimming, even though it is not a common skill to have around here I still miss it. Not of the gods or Goddess can actually swim, somw of the giants can't even," Mimir said.

"Okay I'm going to mark a rock with my powers and see if you can get it. We will have to practice holding our breath. I can hold mine forever about five minutes. You won't be able to do that just yet," she informed as he sighed.

"I will never be able to do that," he said as she quickly held her breath and dove into the water to mark a rock.

She touched the ground of the lake and picked up a small rock and started to mark it with her powers wen something grabbed her waist making her start fighting. She turned to see a giant monster with tentacles and its glowing red eyes coming from a cave it was hiding in.

"Having fun?!" Mimir asked.

"I guess! I hope Hilda isn't trying to make this hard for me!" He said as Hilda's axes went flying into the water.

"Hilda!" Atreus yelled blood started yo suround him.

Hilda swam up to the surface and looked at him with pure panic.

"Go back to shore now, there is a monster in here!" She yelled as it grabbed her by her neck and pulled her back under water.

"Hilda hold on we're coming!" Mimir yelled as Kratos quicy left Mimir where they were sitting and quickly went to the water.

Hilda used her powers to get away and quickly swim back to shore but the monster was now dead set on having its lunch. It grabbed her again and Atreus quickly started shooting at it picked her up then threw her at Kratos making him catch her and put behind him.

"I have an idea!" Hilda yelled as Kratos and Atreus held it off while Hilda went off to her bag of stuff and dumped it out to find five explosives.

"Are you insane? You will bow everything up those!" Mimir yelled as she wet to there side and lit the fuse.

It screamed in anger and she threw it into its mouth while Kratos was chopping away at it it. Hilda grabbed both of rhe and started to run quickly away as it went back under water.

"Five, four, three, two hit the deck!" She yelled as hilda quickly covered Atreus and Kratos took cover as it exploded making the ground shake.

Monster bits fell from the sky as well as water and blood making Hilda look down at Atreus then at Kratos.

"Sorry, I didn't think there was a monster here, I swam here less then a week ago," she said as they started to quickly gather there things.

"It must have moved from the mines, you were cautious, it couldn't have been avoided," Kratos said as they quickly started to head back home.
