Going Home (Ch23)

They were quite some of the way there until monsters came after them again. He was getting really sick of the monsters and he could hear Hilda actually cursing in his head telling the creatures to fuck off and eat her ass. How he wished Hilda was next to him fighting the creatures but she wasn't there.

"When we get there please don't do anything drastic, she is my grandmother. When she learned of my father wasn't going to do anything to avoid his fate she changed," Angrboða explained.

"Oh, okay. If anything we imprison her for a bit until she calms down," Atreus sighed.

"That needs to be the last resort Loki," she informed.

"It will be, I promise. Is it weird that I hear Hilda in my head even though she isn't with me?" Atreus asked as he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder but it quickly went away.

"It's just you wondering what she would say in a situation," she said with a little smile as they continued on there journey.

"I'm so fucking done with you dons of bitches! I'm going to burn this place to the fucking ground!" Hilda screamed as she quickly split a spider in half.

Hilda got jumped by a spider and it bit her shoulder causing her to rip it off of her then drop kick it. So much for sleeping and trying to find Atreus. She was surrounded by spiders and one ate her rock so she couldn't use the doors to get back home. Hopefully Atreus was going to whined up back home otherwise she would really have no way to get home until Sindri gets her.

"Come on Atreus! I can't hold these fuckers off for much longer, I need to go to your house. Okay I'm actually kind of far away and I don't have my seed thing or rock; what ever the hell it is... I'm not running away this is a tactical retreat! I'll be back for you dick bags!" She yelled as she started to run out of the cave.

"Note to self; all adult spiders can rip of armor!" She yelled as an army of spiders started chasing her.

Angrboða and Atreus made it to Grýla's home. It was dark and there were old traps everywhere making Atreus feel like she had done this for ages. It wasn't just a one time thing like he was hoping it was. She must have been checking for traps and he hoped that she didn't catch anything else in them. Hilda would be going out and destroying them and knowing her she would have gotten caught doing it. Sure she was good at what she did but Hilda would be extremely pissed off right now.

"The door is to heavy I know another way around," she explained as she showed him the other way around.

They made it inside and saw how large everything was. It wasn't going to be easy getting the wolf out of here but with Angrboða's help he should be able to find it. He accidentally knocked over a large cup making Angrboða freak out and shush him as he also freaked out for a second thinking that something touched him.

"Where is the wolf?" Atreus whispered.

"There is cellar of sorts with them in it," She said as he looked around and found a door with a key in it.

"Loki! We can't get in there, if she sees the door open she will kill us!" She said as he helped her up.

"You know my future and it's not getting killed by your grandmother," Atreus said as she turned the key.

"Not how it works," Angrboða informed as they went inside the dark room.

They climbed down and he saw the empty cages that must have been filled with animals making him wish he could fight her grandmother for doing this to innocent animals. Killing them for food was one thing but taking there souls just for the heck of it wasn't right. He found a snake and sighed weakly as he touched it. It's soul was taken from it making him sigh with dispare.

"I can't feel anything, just like the other animal," he explained.

"She took its soul there isn't much we can do," she said sadly as Atreus remembered he had a bag of souls on him.

"Here hold this," Atreus said as he gave her the bag of souls.

"What are you doing?" Angrboða asked concerned.

"Did you have a least favorite giant?" Atreus asked making her grab his arm after he picked out a random soul.

"Loki, you can't I just gave them to you!" She protested.

"Your mother said I would know what to do with them when the time was right," he exained.

"Are you sure about this?" She asked.

"No, but they can't hide forever and we can't let it die," Atreus said as she let go of him.

"I'll teach you the spell," she said as they went to the snake and started to put the giants soul into the snake.

The snake came to life from its dull dead color making him smile however the snake quickly started to leave making him concerned it actually didn't work at all. He did just put a giants soul into an animal so for all he knew the same came back and the giant could have died.

"Is that it? Where is it going? Did that even work?!" Atreus asked in disbelief making him sigh weakly.

"I don't know," Angrboða informed as Atreus put the marble back and put it in the bag then closed it.

She tried to give it back but he backed off making her look at him slightly annoyed and angry.

"Are you giving up already?" She asked.

"No, it's just... I think they are better off with you. You know more about them and can keep them safe better then I can. Here they are safe but if I take them back home they won't be. I know they won't be and I don't know if I messed things up or not already to be honest," he explained.

"Are you sure you want me to hold on to them Loki?" She asked.

"I'm sure, please call me Atreus," he said as she nodded.

"Okay," she said as they started to leave.

It was the hardest thing for him to do but Hilda had a gut feeling something was wrong with Týr. He didn't think so but of corse she had trust issues bur he trusted her with his life. Maybe Odin had been watching them when they traveled to get him and was just waiting for him to get out of there hiding hole to so he could kill Týr. He actually didn't know what to think anymore because doing that to that snake also didn't feel right to him. Who was he to decide if they should fight if they found peace with in those little bits of stone?

"We should go, she can't know we were here," she said as Atreus nodded.

"I'm sorry," Atreus apologized.

"Don't be you are thinking about what's best for them," she said as they shut the door and headed to the cup he knocked over.

They put the cup back but when they were about to leave her grandmother came in making them have to hide. The wolf was trying desperately to get away as her grandmother put it on the table with force.

"I almost envy you, what use is a soul anyway? They only cause pain!" She said as Atreus took out an arrow.

"Wait no!" Angrboða whispered.

"She is going to kill him," Atreus pointed out.

"She isn't well and I have let this go on for far to long. I'll distract her while you free the wolf. Then we break the cauldron, if we do that she will have no more use for the souls," Angrboða informed.

"Are you sure?" Atreus asked.

"No but we can't hide forever," Angrboða informed as he nodded.

"Alright let's do this," he said as she went over to a bowl and he quickly took off running to the wolf as soon as the bowl hit the floor.

"I told you to never come back here!" Her grandmother screamed.

"That's right look at me! Ragnarok is coming don't you want to be there for me?! You are the only family I have left and I want to spend how ever long we have together not fighting or arguing anymore!" She yelled as Atreus cut the wolf free by was quickly grabbed by her grandmother.

"I see yiu brought a little friend with you! You freed my wolf, maybe you should take its place!" She growled as she started to crush him in her hand.

"Grandmother no!" Angrboða yelled as she used her magic to hit her in the face several times before she threw him hard to the ground.

Angrboða helped him up and quickly started to run with him under some furniture then into a Crack in the wall.

"We have to go back and distroy that cauldron," Angrboða informed.

"Are you sure you want to go back there?" Atreus asked as he could hear her grandmother yelling at them in the background.

"Yes, like I said I have let this go on for far to long. If we don't stop her now she will never stop taking souls," she explained as they started to find another way into the her kitchen.

"I can hear you!" she screamed as Atreus saw an opportunity to get the pot.

He swong across and quickly started to make a weak point in the pot so he could break it but Grýla smacked him away making him hit the floor.

"Causing trouble before your father dies?! You would make a fine stable boy for Odin!" She yelled as she tried to stomp on him.

"Shut up!" Atreus yelled as he started aming for the pot while Angrboða was trying to block her vision with her magic and get her to drop it some how.

Atreus made sure to aim for that pot even though he wanted to hit her with his arrows for killing the animals and so many other things that she has done. But she wasn't well and he knew Hilda would do the exact same thing that he was doing right now.

"You really think you are going to stop me?! Get out of my home before I kill you both!" She screamed.

"You aren't well! We are trying to save you from yourself!" Angrboða yelled.

"Your little friend will turn into a disgusting monster and destroy everything! I can't wait to see the look in your face when she starts killing everyone you ever cared about!" She yelled.

"Hilda is not a monster! Even if she turned into one I would never let her hurt people she cared about!" Atreus as he shot an arrow and hit the pot.

"It's all part of the prophecy! She will kill everything and turn into a pet for you until she dies!" She yelled as Atreus shot one last arrow but hit her hand by mistake making her drop the pot.

"Hurry we have to break it!" Angrboða yelled as she grabbed the pot and they started having a tug of war match until her grand mother finally let go of it.

Atreus quickly broke it making her grandmother look at it in disbelief and pure rage.

"What did you do?!" She yelled as Angrboða looked at her sadly.

"I saved you," she said as her grandmother quickly looked up at her and snarled at her.

"I should have thrown you to the wolves as soon as I pulled you out of your mother!" she screamed as Angrboða looked down and started to walk away.

She continued to scream at her saying things like if I see you again you will wish you died with your parents making him sad. They Noth deserved to have a good relationship with each other like how Hilda and Sindri had there's. He knew it was going to take a while for both of them to forgive eachother but there wasn't much they could do.

"Are you sure its okay just to leave her here?" Atreus asked.

"She isn't a monster you know she is just lost. She used to say she didn't care about me but she would leave me some bread some times when I went to sleep," she explained.

"Do you want to take a walk with me?" He asked.

"We need to get you back home you have been gone longer them you think," she explained.

"Angrboða," he paused.

"It was a long time coming," she informed.

"Do you want to race?" Atreus asked.

"Atreus I don't really feel like racing," she informed.

"Come on best two out of three I'm sure we tied last time," he explained.

"I'm pretty sure I beat you," she smiled.

"Prove me wrong then! 3,2,1, Go!" He yelled as he took off running as she hopped on a giant magic fox.

"Hey you coming or not?!" He asked as he realized she wasn't behind him.

He saw the magic fox and quickly turned into a wolf and started to chase after her. He didn't feel anger when he changed this time maybe because he was thinking about finally going home to Hilda. He wondered how long he was gone. Maybe a couple of hours or so. Hopefully his father didn't notice he was gone. Angrboða beat him and he turned back to normal tired.

"I'm sorry she was so hard on you," Atreus said softly.

"Me to, thank you for the distration. We should to get you home," she informed.

"Do I have to leave you here?" Atreus asked.

"I'm afraid so for now anyway," she explained.

"You can always come with me, Hilda would like you," he said softly as he looked at the paintings again.

"You still don't belive it do you?" She asked as he touched the rock that had Hilda on it.

"No, all of this is to much. Can you please keep those souls safe for me?" He asked.

"I will yes," she informed.

"I have to stop her from turning into a monster and keep my father from dying some how. Do you think im being stupid? Its okay if you do," he sighed.

"I don't think you are, I think you care for them both so much you can't see a world where the people closest to you get hurt. It's okay but no matter what you do nothing will change the outcome. Come here I have something to show you," she said as he looked over at her then went over to her side.

She went to her bed andsat down and he joined her even though he felt a little uncomfortable doing it because he only been in bed with Hilda twice and both times his body was saying one thing and his mind was saying another. But with her he didn't feel that feeling which he was glad about. He didn't want her to get the wrong idea and hurt her even more. She pulled out a marble but it had his mother's name on it making him look at it sadly.

"I wish it wasn't empty but I know what it feels like to lose both parents. You still have time to say goodbye. As for Hilda I don't know what that will feel like but I will be here for you when the time comes," she said softly.

"I see what you are trying to say and I really do appreciate it, I really do but what happens to you know?"he asked as she smiled.

"I don't know, I guess once you leave my part is over," she said as she laid down.

"I don't think it is, I think it's as big as you make it," he said as he laid down next to her.

"What are going to do now?" She asked.

"I don't know, i cant sit back and watch my girlfriend die and my father. I have to go home and i have to make sure Hilda is okay. I don't know how long I have been gone, I will make sure to bring Hilda here sometime. She is really good at a lot of things," he said.

"You keep telling me she is, I would like that. Close your eyes and think of home, you will be home. Hold on to it tight you dont want to lose it. Repeat home and think about it," she explained as he turned over on his side and concentrated on home.

He opened his eyes and looked around and saw he was home home making him panic.

"No! No, no. Other home other home!" He panicked but it didn't work.

"Shit!" He panicked as a sword came through the door and he opened the window only to get pulled from it by monster.

"Come fast like wolf! Weave, weave, weave," Hilda said as spiders were still chasing her but now other monsters were as well.

"Kratos you better be fucking home!" She panicked as an arrow flew past her head.

"Two days, he has been gone. I will start looking for him in Midgard," Kratos said angerily as he headed to Midgard.

"Okay, let me know if you need anything at all," Sindri said as he got out the book and told Hilda he was going home.

Kratos quickly bumped into Atreus making Atreus look at him shocked.

"Where have you been?!" Kratos asked angerily.

"I wanted to visit Fenrir," he lied.

"For two days?! Don't lie to me again!" He yelled as he noticed spiders and others creatures running threw the woods.

"Do you seek death?" He asked.

"No more then you!" Atreus said then they continued to argue. Hilda Looked over and noticed she was at Kratos home and she couldn't be happier at the moment.

Her armor was in shables and parts were missing of it. She was coated in black blood and her own. Her body was going to give out if she kept up the pace. She quickly started to head there and noticed Kratos and Atreus were arguing with each other. An arrow went passed her and she quickly used her powers to make it go somewhere else catching there attention.

"Hilda?!" Atreus yelled.

"Hit the deck!" She yelled as she pushed them both over as a giant spider jumped over them.

"What are you doing here?!" Kratos asked.

"I was in the mine and I was getting things when a spider snuck up on me. I was about to head home and when it tried eating me it ate the stone or seed what ever it was and I couldn't leave. I was hoping you were going to go looking for Atreus thst you fallowed me but I was wrong. Those aren't the normal cave spiders. Something must have happened to them," she said breathlessly. Then she got up only to be tackled by a monster.

"Hilda!" He panicked.
