They Ask You Out: David
You were sleeping peacefully in your bed, dreaming wonderful dreams of the the platinum haired blonde heartthrob named David. You had been dreaming about him ever since you met him and even more so when he saved you from the Surf Nazis that one night. Suddenly, you heard a tap on your window. You jumped in surprise. You opened your eyes and nearly screamed when you saw David outside your window. You clutched your heart, sighing out in relief. You then got out of bed and opened the window. The cold, Santa Carla air made you shiver in your tank top and sleep shorts.
"David? You scared the hell out of me." You whispered. You didn't want to wake your mom, brothers or your grandpa. David smirked and chuckled.
"Sorry, not sorry, sweet thing." David said. You resisted the urge to blush. Since the time that he had saved you, the two of you had developed a pretty steady friendship, which led you to developing a friendship with the other boys as well, but you were closest to David, much to the dismay of your older brother. Your mom didn't mind. She was happy that you were finally making friends, even if they did seem kind of sketchy. David raised his eyebrows. "Are you going to let me in?" He asked. You scoffed.
"You can just climb in, you know." You said. David smirked.
"True, but a gentleman always asks for a lady's permission before entering her home." David said. "And I am nothing if not a gentleman." He said. You chuckled sarcastically.
"Oh, sure you are. David, the sarcastic gentleman," you said. You moved away from the window. "Well, this lady gives you permission to enter her room." You said. David smiled and climbed in. You wondered how he even got up to your window in the first place. He couldn't have jumped all the way from the ground, your room was two stories up. David closed the window, seeing as how you were shivering from the cold. He walked over and sat next to you on the bed. You reset your head against his shoulder.
"So, why did you come here?" You asked quietly. David chuckled and then wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you down onto the bed. You let out a quiet squeal, letting him pull you into his embrace.
"Do I need some elaborate excuse to visit my best friend?" He asked. You sighed and nuzzled your head into his chest, relishing in the feeling of his leather jacket and the smell of his cologne.
"You do when you come knocking on my window, at midnight, might I add and then scare the living shit out of me because I thought that you were some psycho killer coming to add me to the missing persons posters." You said. David chuckled slightly at your words. He looked down at you.
"You know I would never hurt you, [Y/N]." He said. You froze. He never called you by your name. He always had some cheesy nickname for you: Kitten, Darling, Sweet Thing. Angel was a recent nickname that he added to the list. While it kind of made you uncomfortable at first, you grew to love the nicknames he had for you, and only you. David would use them excessively when Michael was around, just to piss him off. You leaned up on your arm and looked down at your best friend.
"Hey, what's wrong? You never use my name unless it's something serious, or you just want to tease me. So spit it out, blondie. What's going on?" You asked. David glared at you playfully. He always hated it when you used that nickname for him. Your go to nickname for him was Handsome. David then sighed again. He looked up at the ceiling.
"I-I don't want to be friends anymore."
Your heart literally stopped. What was he saying?
"W-what do you mean, you don't want to be friends?" You asked. Had you done something wrong? Did you offend him in someway that you didn't realize?
"I mean what I said. I don't to be friends anymore." He said. Tears built up in your eyes.
"I-is that why you have been acting so weird lately? I-is that all you came here to say?" You swallowed back a lump in your throat. "F-fine," you said. David looked at you. "If you don't want to be friends, then you can leave." You said. David looked at you slightly shocked.
"What?" He asked. You scoffed and wiped away some tears.
"Oh, don't play dump with me, David. You literally just said that you don't want to be friend anymore. If we're not friends, then you can leave. I won't ever bother you or the boys again." You said. You looked at him. Realization dawned on him. You had taken his words wrong. David shook his head and sat up.
"Oh, Angel. That wasn't what I meant at all." He said. You sniffed.
"What?"
David cupped your cheeks in his hands, brushing away the still falling tears.
"When I said that I didn't want to be friends anymore, you didn't let me finish what I was going to say before jumping to conclusions." He said. He brushed his thumbs against your cheeks. You resisted the urge to lean into the feel of his leather gloves until you heard the truth from him. "I was going to say that, I didn't want to be friends anymore. I want to be lovers instead." He said. You froze. Did he just confess to you. You lowered your head, your [h/l] [h/c] hair covering your face. David looked at you. "Kitten?" You then looked up, new tears of happiness streaming down your face.
"You asshole!" You shouted quietly. "You scared the shit out of me, again! You can't do that to me!" You pushed him lightly. A look of fear passed across David's face. He was worried that he had blown it. He was about to apologize when you enveloped him in a hug, holding him tightly. It took him a little bit to register what was happening. When he did, he hugged you back just as tight, placing one of his hands on the back of your head.
"I don't want to be friends either," you whispered. "I want to be lovers instead."
