Have you ever lost someone that you cared about? Alexa has. She lost her best friend last month,her dog Mia. Mia used to watch over her as she slept,and always comforted her when she was sad. They played together all the time. Mia always had seizures. She had to take pills so she wouldn't have seizures all the time,and she hated it. Alexa and her mom would always have to hold her down to shove the pill down her throat; because she wouldn't eat it in food or anything. She would always take the pill out,lay it on the floor,and look at them. As if to say haha I know what you are trying to do. 

    Then one day,Mia got sicker and was getting skinnier and skinnier. Alexa's mom took her to the vet. The vet examined her,did some tests,and said there was something wrong with her heart;but she was going to be fine. She just needed to add more medicine to what Mia was already taking. Alexa and her family were so relieved to hear that she was going to be ok.

    A few months after that,Mia got sick again. She wouldn't eat,wasn't playing anymore,and stumbled every time she tried to walk. Then,one day she went outside to use the bathroom,and fell down the steps. They thought she was ok. A couple of days after that, she got to where she couldn't even stand up to eat or drink water. She also got to where she would get out of breath just by walking outside. Alexa went to get her in,and had to go pick her up out of the yard because she had fallen over panting really hard. When she went to pick her up,she was scared because she was like a limp noodle and couldn't even stand.So the next day,Alexa and her mom took her to the vet. They didn't get good news this time. It turns out when Mia fell down the steps,she had thrown a blood clot through her lung. That's why she fell.

     The vet said they could try to give her more medicine;but they weren't sure if she would make it. Alexa's heart sank. She was trying to hold back the tears,but she was so scared that she would lose her best friend. All she could do was pray that God would take care of Mia,and he did. The next morning she was acting like her old self. She was playing like she used to.

       Later that night,she got worse. She couldn't stand or do anything. Alexa's mom and dad decided to call the vet. The vet said there was nothing else she could do,and poor Mia was suffering. So,they decided to make one of the hardest decisions in the world. They decided to have her put to sleep. Everybody was crying. Alexa realized that she was going to lose her best friend. When Alexa and her family got to the vet they were so upset and got one last picture with her. Then,the vet took them to the back of the clinic. The family watched as the light,went out in poor little Mia's eyes. They took her back home and buried her in their old flower bed beside their house. That way,she would always be close to them. They had a funeral for her out in their front yard,and went back inside. They cried themselves to sleep that night. Alexa prayed Mia would become friends with her grandparents that had died a few years before all this happened. Enjoy Heaven,Mia!

I just got inspired by reading all the other stories and decided to write a story based on what happened to me and my family. Anyway I had fun and cried while writing it so I hope y'all enjoy it.
