Reunion...Sort Of
I hadn't thought of her in a long time... with everything changed, she most likely had by now found a partner and produced offspring, never even remembering my existence.
But what she didn't know was that I had gotten myself out- by accident, of course- and I had started to look for her.
But that foolish Shadow didn't let me get very far. I then spent ten years locked away, biding my time for revenge...!
I had nothing personal with the blue one, but his heroics just made him the best target to free Iblis and get revenge on Shadow.
Wrong place, wrong time, kid.
Then there was Silver, that young, naive hedgehog from the future that would do anything to end my counterpart's destruction on his world...
Both of them, pawns in the game I played...
These were the things I pondered as I laid there, strapped down and unable to move. The clock had gone from 1:00 to 3:45 since they'd left me. 2.75 hours had passed.
I'd tried to shift out of the bonds, but to my horror they'd found some way to restrain those too. I was truly trapped.
Again.
I heard the door open once more, and pretended I was asleep. Maybe they'd release me if they thought I wasn't aware.
I heard the shuffling of feet, someone moving objects around, then they paused by the side of the bed.
"He doesn't look like an insane person..." a voice murmured.
" Insane people hardly ever do when they're asleep." Another replied. So there were two of them...
"What do you think he's dreaming about?"
"Nothing." A third voice replied. "He's not asleep, he's listening."
There was an audible scrambling away from the bedside, away from me. I opened my eyes, knowing I was caught, and saw them standing there, looking at me.
One of them was her.
It had to be her! Yet she still looked the same as before...how was that possible? It had been ten years, in here! Was I wrong? Was she not really mortal like I thought she was?
She turned her head to the lynx on her left side. "Watch the door for me... let me know if anyone's coming."
The lynx nodded hesitantly, then went to the door.
She came towards me slowly, her face calm, but in an discomforting way. Kind of the way I was...
My eyes never left her, uncertain of why she wanted the door guarded. Was she going to free me? Did she even remember me at all?
"Look," I started, "You might not remember... but you've-" I was suddenly cut off as the backside of her hand met my cheek. There was that stinging pain again. "...Ow...!" I hissed.
"Wow!" The mouse boy squeaked, "If anyone else had seen you do that, you would've been fired!"
"Precisely why I wanted the door watched..." she took my chin, pulling my entire head forward. "Now, Mr. Solaris...how much do you know?"
My eyes narrowed, "I was about to ask you the same thing...!"
"Oh... I get it!" The mouse smirked, "Old ex-boyfriend."
"NO!" Both she and I shouted in unison.
"Eww. No." She continued.
"So...he's not insane?" The lynx asked.
"Of course not, you pathetic-" she slapped a hand over my mouth, which was also new.
"He's not insane..." she glared at me. "He's just not in control of his mouth yet."
I glared back, the two of us seeming to be having a contest until-
"Dr. Chiros is coming!"
She pulled her hand away and jumped back, trying to look like our conversation didn't happen.
A bat with sinister-looking eyes stepped into the room, glaring at them as they looked back at him. "What are you three supposed to be doing?" He asked.
" I was assigned to check on him, Sir." She replied. "Memory and Mage just wanted to come along."
"Alright fine. But it's my turn now, so all three of you, scat! Especially you, Lunar!"
Lunar...so that was her name. She left the room quickly, but not before giving me a look that said 'I'll be back later...'
So she worked in this place...I would plenty of questions for her when she came back...
