Chapter Five
3rd Person's POV
"A resident nurse has been found dead just outside the mental facility. Her neck was broken as well as her arms. More details to be reported in a few." Reporter Sandra Feldman of Ch23 said.
Detective McGonagall threw the remote on the table and sighed in frustration.
"When and where we'll be able to find out the person in-charge of this fucking crime! All we have are speculations. The evidences are not even present! Are you really doing your job, guys?" He can't help but to yell at his team.
SP01 Fields looked away and SP02 Clements heaved a breath in response. They have been expecting his retort but couldn't think of anything to say.
All of them have been working their butts off to see where the incidences will lead them but to no avail.
Its as if the murderer really has planned it all beforehand. It wasn't as easy as they thought it would be.
"Here, take a look at this." Detective Torres must have heard the outrage from the outside and went inside to control the situation.
Fortunately, his tipper has gathered some clues which may probably lead them to the identity of the killer.
"Holy shit." SP01 Trinidad muttered in surprise as he pulled out his phone from his pocket.
All the people inside the conference room turned their eyes at him.
SP01 Trinidad's face became pale.
"I-I think I know who the murderer is. I think we might have found him already."
---
"What the hell happened?" Mr. Toledo hollered at his people.
Mr. Arwin Toledo is the owner and director of the Mental Facility. He has been managing the place for more than fifteen years now.
"All my life, we never lose a patient! How come she escaped? Did somebody helped her?" Those were the words which got out of his mouth that earned scared looks from the employees.
"Whoever you are, if you are in this room, mark my words. I will find you and give you what you deserve!" He said before storming out of their function hall.
Personnel and nurses started scurrying to their workspaces and shaking their heads.
"This is totally getting out of hand." The chief cook said to her comrade.
"I know. I mean, how would she escape? It's totally impossible to get out of their cells! They only have a door. A single door, if I am not mistaken!" The Assistant Cook exclaimed in disbelief.
"Sshh!" The Chief Cook nudged her and discretely pointed to the young doctor who came out of the right hallway and walking towards them.
"Good morning, Doctor."
"Good morning, pretty ladies." The young doctor greeted them with a smile before walking past them.
"We are so lucky to have him here. He is a breath of fresh air!" The Assistant Cook, who is on her early twenties, cooed.
"Stop daydreaming. Who knows, he might be the accomplice?" The Chief Cook said and sighed. "Come on, let's go and prepare for lunch. We have several mouths to feed."
---
"Howdy!" SP01 Fields tipped of his cap to the person in-charge of the CCTV near the Mental Facility where the young nurse was found.
The outside part of the establishment was wired by the Police to secure the area until investigation is closed.
"I have told the same thing to your comrade. I have nothing more to give." The guy in his late twenties said dismissing him.
"Not so fast, buddy." SP01 Trinidad butted in. He pointed out his Police Badge and walked towards him, "we need your cooperation. What would happen if your sister, daughter, granny or mother is the one being killed like that? Will you not want to find out who did it?"
Those words got his attention and he sat upright.
"Fine. Fine. Stop talking about my kid. I don't even have a girlfriend." He sighed and gestured for them to sit which they did. "Here's what I know and what I have saved."
They spent around thirty minutes for both the interrogation and claiming the CCTV footage from the guy. They patted him on the shoulder as a sign of gratitude before leaving him.
As SP01 Fields drove the car back to the station, SP01 Trinidad was silent.
He knew and he was certain that he have seen the guy somewhere.
He just couldn't remember when and where.
"I know. The guy in the footage is indeed familiar." SP01 Fields said as he maneuvered the car at the intersection. "I think he is an artist or reporter or connected with the media of some sort?"
SP01 Trinidad's eyes widened at his friend's thoughts.
"Holy shit! Anthony Thames!" He blurt out.
