Love's Healing Touch -1

Subhadra, the beloved sister of Lord Krishna, felt a deep sense of unease as she sensed that her husband Arjun was unwell. She knew that he was away on a journey, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of worry that gnawed at her heart. Unable to bear the distance any longer, she approached her brother Krishna with tears in her eyes.

"Bhratashree, please take me to Arjun. I fear for his well-being and cannot rest until I see him with my own eyes," Subhadra implored, her voice trembling with emotion.

Krishna, who had always held a special place in his heart for his sister, looked at her with compassion and understanding. He knew the bond between Subhadra and Arjun was unbreakable, and he couldn't deny her request.

"Of course, dear sister. I will take you to him," Krishna replied, his eyes filled with determination.

And so, Krishna and Subhadra set out on a journey to find Arjun. Along the way, Subhadra poured out her heart to Krishna, sharing her fears and worries about Arjun's well-being. Krishna listened attentively, offering words of comfort and reassurance.

The wind howled through the trees, their naked branches scratching against the night sky like the talons of some predatory beast. The stars winked mockingly down at Subhadra as she paced back and forth in front of her husband's tent.

Her usually composed features were contorted into a mask of worry and restlessness. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss, that she was forgetting something important. Her eyes kept drifting towards the nearby river, where she knew her husband Arjun was recuperating from a high fever. He had been down for days now, and Sahadev, his faithful brother, had been tending to him around the clock.

It pained Subhadra to see Arjun so weak and helpless, and yet she could not bring herself to go to him. There was an unspoken understanding between them, a bond that transcended words and emotions, that kept her away from him.

As she continued to pace, her mind drifted back to the days when they were all young and carefree, when they would spend hours playing in the very same woods where they now camped.

Arjun had always been the strongest, the most skilled in battle, and the most confident of them all. But now, he lay there, barely able to lift his head, and it was Sahadev who stood vigilant, protecting him from any harm.

It was a role reversal that Subhadra could not quite comprehend. The night wore on, and with it, her restlessness grew. She tried to occupy herself with mundane tasks around the camp, but her thoughts kept returning to Arjun. She could feel the weight of his feverish gaze on her, as if he knew that she was nearby but could not bring herself to speak to him.

There was a world of unspoken emotion in that glance, and Subhadra felt her heart ache with the weight of it. She knelt beside the cot, her hand reaching out to touch his feverish brow. "I'm here now," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the beating of her heart. "I'm here."

Arjun's eyes closed briefly, and then he forced them open again, his gaze lingering on her face.

He tried to speak, but his voice was weak and raspy. "Subhadra," he croaked. "I'm sorry. I never meant to leave you like this."Tears welled up in her eyes at the sound of his voice, but she forced a reassuring smile. "Shhh, Arya. You need to rest. We're all here for you."

She smoothed back a strand of hair from his forehead, her touch gentle and soothing.Outside the tent, the camp began to stir as the sun rose higher in the sky.

She felt the weight of his gaze on her, and she knew that he was grateful for her presence. As the day wore on, Sahadev brought them some broth and light bread, which Subhadra helped Arjun eat.

The food tasted bland and unappetizing, but she forced herself to choke it down, determined to maintain a sense of normalcy for her husband. Arjun smiled weakly, his lips barely moving. "You're a good wife, Subhadra," he managed to say between sips. "I don't deserve you."

She laughed softly, more to ease his discomfort than out of genuine amusement. "You know that's not true. We're soulmates, through thick and thin. That's what we do." Her eyes darted to the entrance of the tent, where she could see Sahadev tending to the horses.

"And besides," she continued, lowering her voice, "I think Sahadev needs me here just as much as you do."Arjun smiled slightly at this, his eyes closing briefly. "I suppose you're right," he murmured.

"It's just... being in this state, I feel so helpless." He winced as a shudder ran through his body. "I wish I could be the one to protect you all, the way I used to."

Subhadra reached out and squeezed his hand gently. "You are still our protector, my love," she whispered.

"Even when you are weak, you are stronger than anyone I know. And I will always be here to protect you, as well. That will never change."She paused, taking a deep breath to steady her voice.

"You know, when I was younger, I used to imagine what it would be like to tend to you when you were injured. I would daydream about being by your side, making you comfortable, and helping you heal." She smiled wistfully. "I guess life had a different plan for us."

She told him stories about their childhood, shared laughter and tears with him, and even sang soft lullabies to help him drift off to sleep. Arjun's state of vulnerability reminded Yudhishthir of days when they lost their father Pandu.

"Phalgun was in this state of constant fever when we lost our father". Yudhishthir recalled.

"Yes Jyeshth,Phalgun was never like this..as if something is haunting his thoughts" said Bheem carcassing hair of pale faced Arjun.

"I hope he recovers soon as possible" Draupadi pondered.
