Chapter 8: Family
I sigh under my breath. Of course this would happen. What do I expect? It's fairy tail! Or more or rather Erza.
"See! Isn't that bad!" Erza chanted with a hysterical smile plastered on her face.
"Erza. I have pepper in my eyes." I mutter through gritted teeth. I'm positive she could hear the venom in my voice.
"Sorry!" Levy blurted out.
"Don't be sorry! This is her fault for not shopping!"
"How is that my fault!! I've been busy!!" Levy giggled at my sudden outburst.
"Doesn't matter! We're goin'." Erza concluded before dragging me along the long path.
"W-Wait! Don't you think they'll suspect something?"
"We're fine! As long as you have that cloak on you're as hidden as a needle in a haystack."
"But there's always that chance that someone pricks their finger on that needle." Levy blurted out. Erzas face was flustered.
"Stop being so negative!! We got one another, that's all we need." Erza happily wrapped her arms around our necks. Her scorching hot armor brushed against my skin leaving a faint stinging burn. I chuckled at her abrupt enthusiasm.
"You guys would be better without me." I say with a faint laugh in an attempt to soften the blow of my words, but to my astonishment; it had no effect. Levy flinched at my comment as Erzas eyes went wide with shock. Erzas once soft brown orbs stared down at me with a infuriated glare. Levy gasped when she aggressively grabbed my hand and held it in my face.
"Do you know what this is?!?" She yelled, causing a couple of people to give us confusing looks.
"I-It's Fairy Tails insignia." I yelped. She clenched my hand in her firm grip and gritted her teeth.
"It. Is. Not." She muttered. You could tell Levy was scared of Erzas reaction, and by the look on her face, she seemed terrified.
"Y-Yes it is." I stuttered.
"No it's not! This is not a sign of Fairy Tail! This is a sign of Family! You're family! You help create Fairy Tail and bring joy to our Guild. You are someone people look up too! You can't just give up and tell yourself you're not worth it, because you are!!" Erza thundered.
Her words touched me in a way I couldn't describe. My mouth fell open in search of words, but to no prevail. A few stray tears welded up in my eyes. I loved hearing I was apart of a family, because it was honestly all I wanted.
"Couldn't have said it better." Levy finally spoke. Erza pulled back her shoulders and pushed us ahead towards familiar shops that aligned the road.

"Erza! I can't get that!" I belted.
"But why not? It's perfect!" Levy face palmed at Erzas pleading.
"Do you see how much that cost?" She retorted. Erza huffed at Levy and looked at the price.
"It's only 1,450 jewel."
"Erza! I can hardly afford a banana!" I exclaimed.
"Then I'll buy it!"
"Erza, you're going to spend that much on a blanket?"
"It's not just the the blanket! You can get a designed sewed onto it." She held it up for us to examine it.
It was a shade of yellow and was made of cotton. It's sides were lined with silk and had a shiny glisten to it.
"What can you even put on it?" Levy requested.
"I'll show you." Erza swiftly walked over to an old man at a sewing machine that was currently working on a coat.
"Hello sir. I would like to get a design on this blanket." She beamed. He lowered his head to peer over his glasses to get a clear look of the group of girls.
"Sure. What would you like?" He finally replied.
"Can I get this?" She turned to show him her indigo fairy on her shoulder.
"Sure. What color?" He perked up and began searching the collection of threads. Erza looked at me in search of an answer.
"Light blue, please." I answered for her. Levy was beaming beside me, I'm pretty sure she found this quite fun.
The man skimmed his finger along the threads until he found the right color. He popped it into the machine and began pressing buttons on the mechanism.
He eventually pulled the blanket out from the under the machine for us to view.
"Perfect!" Erza exclaimed. She searched her pockets for jewels. She patted her pockets for her sack and acknowledged the fact that it wasn't in her armor. "It's not here." She mumbled as she continuously searched her pockets.
"It's not?" Levy stammered. Erza grumbled profanities under her breath as she kept searching.
I sighed checking my pockets realizing I would most likely have to pay. Except, to my surprise, my pockets were empty as well.
"What?!" I exclaimed. The man grumbled as he sat down on his stool.
"If you don't have the pay, I'm afraid I cant give you the blanket." He stated. Levy rummaged through her pockets and inside her books for loose jewel. She pulled out a bag and a soft laughed escaped her lips.
"It's right here." She smirked. The man laughed at our shocked faces.
"Have I told you I own a magic shop? That's only one of my man-"
"O.K. Thank you. Here you go." Erza snatched the blanket and threw the man a sack of jewel before quickly excited the door, me and Levy not far behind.

Sorry for the sort chapter, promise you'll I'll be working on longer ones. But if you're wondering about the delay in chapters, it's because I'm working on the second book believe it or not. I already know where the plot is heading, so why not get a head start? I'm not saying what it's about nor giving hints so don't even try😂😂Anywho, thanks for reading. Hope you have a good day! Ba~Bai!
