We have escaped! Or have we?

The sound of alarms echoed in Madison's ears as wind blew through her hair. She jerked up and saw Luke's concerned, anxious face.

"What's wrong?" Madison whimpered, not even paying attention to the outdoors.

"We've escaped Madi. We did it."

Madison gulped. No one except her parents ever called her Madi. A flood of emotions ran through her mind as she suddenly realized what Luke was actually talking about.

"We've escaped?" Madison gleamed and rolled out of Luke's arms, only to fall on her arm.

Luke laughed as Madison giggled.

"Are you okay?" he said, reaching his arm out to help her, "You seem excited."

"Why wouldn't I be? We've escaped!"

"Get them!" A loud voice echoed through the field. Madison shivered and Luke helped her up.

"Not so fast." He said, pulling her closer and closer to the dark woods, "Looks like they're coming."

"We're not going in there, are we?" Madison felt her body shake as she looked into the pitch black forest.

"Sorry Madi, looks like we have to." He grabbed her arm and yanked her, running as fast as he could. Madison ran quickly, faster than her own feet could go. Sarah used her bow and arrow to defend them as they ran through the dark forest.

Minuets later, the news broke out. "Looks like they're gone." sighed Sarah. A look of relief passed over the children's faces. They gave each other hugs and thanked God.

"Where do we go now?" Madison tilted her head to the side as in question.

Luke looked up to the sky, "Looks like we'll be here for the night. Sorry."

A sad expression crossed the girls faces as they tried to accept their condition.

"I'm going to go gather some wood for the fire." Luke said, running away.

"I'm going to go find some rabbit to eat." Sarah snickered and ran away in the opposite direction of Luke. Madison smiled and thanked God for her friends. She placed rocks in a circle so they would have a place for a fire. Suddenly, lighting bolts flared through Madison's body. She fell to the ground and placed her hand on her stomach.

"Pass out, pass out." she told her self, "Come on, pass out." She winced in pain and held her hand up to her face. Blood covered her pale hand and she shivered. A dark shadow walked in front of her and laughed. Madison couldn't make out who the figure was. A large crack filled the air and Madison's head filled with pain. Suddenly, everything went black.
