**IN CELL**

Madison was forcing herself to sleep, but it was nearly impossible while tied to a pole and standing up. She grunted and sighed. Tomorrow was a big day. She would either be free, or killed. The pain was almost unbearable.

She finally had enough and cried, "God! Why aren't you there? I've read through the Bible many times, I've prayed at least ten times a day, I go to church three times a week and I teach others about you. What have I done wrong? God, please. You promise to never leave your children, but right now, I have no hope. God, you're the only one who can save me. You have plans for my life, but I didn't think they would end this way. I always thought since I did good for you, you would help me through the challenges. But Lord, I feel so empty, lost, confused, depressed, sad..angry..."

The words slowly faded away as Madison bowed her head. Her eyes closed and she fell asleep. She would be in peace..but not for long.

"Hey! Wake up. Madi.."

Madison slowly opened her eyes and moaned, "Ugh...what Jack?"

"I'm not Jack, it's Luke."

Madison threw her head up and looked at Luke. "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought I was home."

Luke smiled a bit and sweeped her hair out of her face, "I'm sorry you're still tired, but today's a big day, we need to start."

"Huh? Start what?"

"Um, our escape?"

"Ah! That's today?" she shivered and looked into his eyes, "Oh Luke, I'm not ready!"

The door opened and Sarah walked in, "I'm more ready than ever." she said as she smiled her biggest smile. Her golden hair was pulled back into a side braid and she had dressed in white clothes.

"You look like an angel, Sarah. Honestly." Madison giggled and smiled at her new best friend.

"Thanks." Sarah giggled back and said, "Well, what are we waiting for? We better get moving before the sun's up."

Luke looked concered and said, "Sarah, we don't have any weapons."

"Who needs weapons when they have God?"

Madison laughed sarcastically. "Are you kidding me? I believe God will protect us, but I think we should take something at least."

Luke motioned to outside, "I brought a sword, it's in the woods."

Madison smiled, but Sarah sighed, "Okay, I suppose we could take those."

"Let's take a look at the plans." Luke said as he sat down and took out a piece of paper.

"A little help here?" Madison struggled to get out of the ropesthat ties her to the pole. Sarah helped Madison get out while Luke explained the plans. Today was going to be a very eventful and scary day and Madison wasn't sure she was ready.
