Reunited

Thankfully, Madison and the baby were healthy. After the scare, Luke and Madison both decided to stay close to the hospital just in case anything happened. They stayed in a little hut in a village with Noah, Elizabeth, and Anna. Grace ran around outside popping bubbles that the neighbor kids and Caspian helped her catch them. Madison was ordered bed rest which made her even more uncomfortable.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" Luke ran his fingers through Madison's long brown hair.

"I've been better, I've been worse." She said, giggling.

"I'm really sorry babe." He said as he kissed her forehead.

"It's okay. At least I have you. I just wish my family was here."

"I understand." Luke said as he sat on the other side of her, "But you know Madison..if we try to find them, we'll be caught and put in prison again. We're just lucky we were able to go to the hospital."

Madison shook her head, "Not lucky, Luke. We're blessed."

He smiled and laughed when he saw Caspian sprint into the room with Grace hanging on his back. "That's not good for Cas young lady." He said as he picked the little African girl up and tickled her.

"Daddy! Daddy stop!" She squirmed. Madison smiled. She was glad to have such a wonderful family.

"Noah went out to go get some groceries." Luke said as he tossed Grace in the air and caught her.

"Okay, good. We need some more." She said, smiling.

Knock, knock! Elizabeth opened the door and smiled. "How are you doing?" She said as she felt Madison's baby bump.

"Pretty good, I suppose."

"Time for your seven month checkup."

"I can't believe I'm already seven months along! Time has really flown." She smiled. God had blessed them so much.

-Lambert Family-

"Are we almost there?" Hannah said, rubbing her head. The car was very bouncy and was giving her a headache.

"Don't complain so much." Katelyn snapped, "Yes, we're almost there."

Mrs. Lambert looked around from the front seat and glared at the girls, "Please, please stop girls."

Hannah sighed and leaned on Isaac's shoulder. Why couldn't Madison be with them? Why wasn't God answering their prayers? Hannah finally decided that there was no God. If there was, He would've brought Madison back.

Clang click clang! What's going on? Hannah shot up and looked around.

"No, no!" Mr. Whitfield yelled as he hit the steering wheel. He turned around with a frown on his face, "Well, the car broke down."

Everyone in the car sighed. Isaac turned around and grabbed a toolbox.

"No worries." He said as he climbed out of the car. He opened the hood as smoke consumed him. He coughed as he fanned the air with his hand. He got some tools out of his toolbox and started to work. The others climbed out of the car and started stretching.

"I really miss Luke." Mr. Whitfield said as he wrapped his arms around his wife, "He should be right here with Isaac helping fix the car."

Mrs. Whitfield nodded but backed up as another car pulled beside them. An old African man stepped out and smiled.

"Do you guys need help?" He said, walking closer to their car.

Mrs. Whitfield smiled at the fact that he was offering help and that he could speak English.

"Sure, I suppose we don't mind." Isaac said, stretching his hand out to the man, "I'm Isaac. We're on our way to the village just a few miles away from here."

"I'm Noah and I live a few villages away but I'm staying in the one you're going to." He said, smiling and grabbing some tools.

Mr. Whitfield, Isaac and Noah worked on the car for the next forty five minutes. Finally, Isaac turned the key and the car started up.

"Thank you, sir." He said, "Your help is very appreciated."

"No problem young man. I'm going to get a few groceries then I will return to the village. I suppose I will see you there." Noah smiled.

Isaac smiled back as the others loaded in the car.

-Madison & Luke-
"Grace, what do you want to name the baby?" Madison whispered into her daughters ear.

"Hmmm...turtle!" She giggled and pushed back her curls.

"Turtle, huh? How about..Jane for a girl?"

Grace shook her head fast and frowned, "No Jane. Turtle."

"Well, maybe you can call the baby that but it needs a real name."

"How about Jack for a boy?" Luke said as he picked up Grace and placed her on his shoulders.

"That's adorable. I love it. But I really like Gideon."

"That's cute too. I guess we need to spend more time on it." Luke said as he kissed his wife on the lips.

"Ew!" Grace squealed. Madison and Luke laughed.

Knock, knock!

"Come in!" Grace shouted. The door slowly opened as Noah walked in.

"You were gone longer than I expected. Did you find everything alright?" Luke asked.

"Yes, I helped a family on the road. They had a broken down car."

"Where were they headed?" Luke questioned.

"Here actually. They should have arrived an hour or so ago."

"Honey, we've got company!" Elizabeth yelled across the house. Noah entered the living room and saw Isaac and his family.

"Hello! Hello! Come on in." Noah shook their hands and welcomed them.

"Thank you." Mr. Whitfield said. "Some neighbors told us you were staying here.

Hannah frowned. She hated spending time with old people. She knew Madison loved it, so she tried to as well.

Noah walked into Luke and Madison's room and smiled. "We have some company. I know you can't get out of bed," Noah pointed to Madison, "But I was wondering if they could come in here to meet you?"

Luke and Madison both nodded. A few minutes later, the door opened again and the Whitfield's and Lambert's walked in. All breathing stopped. Breaths gasped and screams filled the air.

"Mom!" Madison sat up and ran over to her mom. She didn't care at this moment to stay in bed. "Katelyn!" She hugged her sister who was balling and screaming. "Isaac!" She ran and gave her brother a hug who squeezed her so tight. "Hannah!" The little girl ran to her big sister and screamed.

"Oh my goodness, Madison! You're alive! I love you sooooo much and I can't believe you're here!" Tears streamed down the girls face.

Luke ran and hugged his parents who were crying harder than ever. Then, he hugged his sister, Jada.

"Luke..Luke you're here." She said screaming.

Noah and Elizabeth stood at the door confused. Once the screaming, shouting, hugging and crying finished, Luke smiled.

"Noah and Elizabeth, this is my family and this is Madison's family."

Elizabeth and Noah shouted and hugged them all.

"Mom...this is my husband, Luke." She smiled, "And this is our daughter, Grace who was adopted."

Grace squealed and jumped up and down. "Hi!" She smiled.

"And we're having another child in two months." Madison said as she wiped her tears. How could this be happening? God was good..so good.

Then, Madison stopped. "Mom, where's dad?"

All faces dropped and sorrow filled the room.

"Honey, your father is with the Lord. He passed away two months ago from an unexpected heart attack."

Madison felt tears of sorrow trickle down her face. "At least he's with the Lord.." She mumbled.

The families all hugged her again and Mr. Whitfield picked up Grace.

"Hello my granddaughter." He said smiling, "God has blessed us all hasn't He?"

"Amen!" Grace shouted and Caspian barked back. The families laughed. God was good.

Hannah sighed and rubbed the tears falling down her eyes. There was a God and she knew it. That was her final descison.
