Baby Whitfield is here.
Madison felt tears drop as she gripped her husbands arm. He was running as fast as he could down to the corner of the street to the hospital. Madison was eight months pregnant and definitely in labor. Elizabeth and Jane, Madison's mother, followed close behind. When they reached the hospital, they banged on the doors. No one came.
"Open up!" Luke yelled. His brown hair covered his eye brows as fear covered his face.
A young lady, around Madison's age opened the door. "Come on in." She smiled and pointed to a room in the middle of the hallway. Luke sprinted as fast as he could and laid Madison down on the bed. Tears and sweat ran down her face as she breathed quickly. Luke kissed her forehead and wiped her hair back.
"You can do it." He said smiling down at his beautiful wife and praying silently.
-1 hour later-
The cry of a new baby rang throughout the hospital. Madison laughed as she cried tears of joy. A screaming baby boy was placed into her hands. He had light brown hair and brown eyes.
"Jack." Madison cried as she held her baby for the first time, "His name is Jack David."
Luke smiled as he rubbed his sons head. "He's so handsome, Madi."
"He must take after his father then." She giggled. All of the sudden, fear stuck her face. "Elizabeth, take the baby."
"What's wrong?" The nurse rushed over to her.
Elizabeth gasped and grabbed Madison's hand. "She's having twins!"
-30 minutes later-
Luke laughed as he handed the screaming baby girl to Madison, "Why, weren't you a surprise?"
Madison wiped the tears off her face as her smile went from ear to ear.
"What's her name?" The nurse asked, standing with a clipboard.
Madison and Luke smiled at eachother and Luke nodded, "Kate Elizabeth."
Another nurse walked in carrying baby Jack. He was all bathed and smelled fresh. They took Kate back to wash her. Jack opened his eyes for a short period of time and Madison gasped. "Luke, I think he has blue eyes!" Jack's light brown hair covered his little head and he let out a little squeal. Madison laughed as she handed Luke his son.
"I'm a dad." Luke said as he held his son for the first time. "Jack, I'm you're daddy." The little baby stretched and yawned. "I think he's tired." Luke said.
"There's a chair over there." Madison pointed, "Go ahead and put your son to sleep." Luke sat down and sang a lullaby to Jack. Madison smiled as she watched her handsome husband put her newborn son to sleep. It was a dream come true. She has a wonderful husband and three beautiful children.
Baby Kate Elizabeth was then brought into the room. Her hair was a little darker than Jack's but her eyes were even bluer. Madison held her for a while and talked to her about life. The little baby made many squeaks and Madison knew she would be a talker. Soon, Kate fell asleep and Madison did too. Luke struggled to stay awake and ended up falling asleep as well. They had a very adventurous and extraordinary night.
-The Next Morning-
"Mommy! Daddy!" Madison jerked awake as Grace leaped up onto the bed.
"Now Gracie you need to be careful, your mommy is tired." Elizabeth said.
Jane, Madison's mom stepped in the room, "Good morning sweetheart." She said, kissing her daughter's head, "How you feeling?"
"Tired but in love." Madison answered looking down at her sleeping beauty.
"You only got two hours of sleep. We hope you can rest more today when you come home." Elizabeth said.
"Gracie, would you like to see your new brother and sister?" Luke smiled as he waved the little girl over to see Jack. She skipped over and looked at the baby. "Can you say, Jack?"
"JACK!" The little girl screamed.
"Shh, you need to be quite, Jack is sleeping."
"Okay, daddy." Grace whispered, "He is tiny." She placed her small hand on his face and slowly stroked it. "This my brother, Grandma."
Jane walked over and kissed Jack's cheek.
The name Jack meant "God is gracious." Madison smiled to herself. God was definitely gracious and she was looking forward to what He had in store to come.
