Sailaja was continuously checking behind her as she left her family and friends with Senguttuvan to see if Vikram would appear miraculously and send her off. But as she walked farther, her hopes grew dimmer. Sailaja finally decided that Vikram would not arrive and that she should give up hope.

While everyone else began to move, Sailaja continued to stare at the entryway.

As all of Sailaja's expectations came to nothing, she was on the verge of breaking down. She quickly took the window seat that had been assigned to her. Even though it was her first time flying, she showed no signs of excitement. She leaned against the window, looking out, and let out a single tear.
